PowKiddy A20 - Fixing the buttons!

- This will allow you to play other emulators and other android games. The default key mapping on the PowKiddy is all over the place. They have it mapped to keyboard commands and multi scripts for the same function. This will help the system see it as a joystick and allow you to play other emulators, like Sega Saturn. I hope you enjoy.

Hi, great video. Managed to get tincore installed and map some of the buttons.
Have a couple of questions
- what did you map menu, vol up, vol down, power button to in tincore? (I left them as is except power which I couldn't map as it wouldn't appear)
- how did you map power button?
- do you need to do any mapping of the dpad or analog stick?
- with mkr! I just got a message to set it to default keybaord by couldn't find how to do it with settings provided so couldn't map vol up/down and power. How did you get round it?
Hope you can answer as I love the device but having full button control would make it almost perfect

Hey sorry I haven't replied back to you until now. I just been busy with work and life stuff. mkr! was the tool I used to remap the vol and power buttons back again. I think I remapped the pow as back. I haven't used this handheld in a long time. I remember it did take a bit of fiddling to get mrk! to work. Just like you said it would give me that message of default keyboard. I think I installed leanback or gboard something like that then enabled it and mrk! so it wouldn't give me that error. I can't remember exactly. The analog stick should be okay without mapping but the default mapping is pretty bad that powkiddy used, it is way out of spec also the dpad should be fine.

I just got my a20. I really wanna love it but retroarch was making me wanna cut myself. Imma try this out and hopefully it helps...
It might take a little time figuring out how to use the software, but its worth it. Once you get it down. It makes the system 100 times more usable.
@@buttonslam I love this , can you make a full tutorial please? I have the A20 and I just got it to play arcade fighting games because of the 6 face buttons, but it is impossible in the powkiddy box, and I almost don't have any experience tinkering android.
for example I get from the video that I can remap de keys, but don't know how should I Mapp them, I see the buttons appearing in the screen but what command should assign to them, I'm afraid to just make it worst. please help no one is making real tutorials for the A20.
@@darkgeorge01 I will try to make one. I am just very busy these days with work and other things. I know it seems a little confusing at first but it is rather easy to use once you get the hang of it.

The UI is from the Android side. You have to switch it from the default OS to the Android version. After that you will need a new front-end launcher. The one I use it Square Home Launcher. It's a bit of tweaking but end results are worth it. Plus that launcher is controller friendly. I might make a video sometime about it.
