    Amazing Grace Lyrics:
    Amazing grace! How sweet the sound
    That saved a wretch like me!
    I once was lost, but now am found;
    Was blind, but now I see.
    ’Twas grace that taught my heart to fear,
    And grace my fears relieved;
    How precious did that grace appear
    The hour I first believed.
    Through many dangers, toils, and snares,
    I have already come;
    ’Tis grace hath brought me safe thus far,
    And grace will lead me home.
    The Lord has promised good to me,
    His Word my hope secures;
    He will my Shield and Portion be,
    As long as life endures.
    Yea, when this flesh and heart shall fail,
    And mortal life shall cease,
    I shall possess, within the veil,
    A life of joy and peace.
    The earth shall soon dissolve like snow,
    The sun forbear to shine;
    But God, who called me here below,
    Will be forever mine.
    When we’ve been there ten thousand years,
    Bright shining as the sun,
    We’ve no less days to sing God’s praise
    Than when we’d first begun.
    Gurrumul and Paul Kelly with their cover of 'Amazing Grace'.
    About Gurrumul:
    Born blind, the Indigenous Australian singer/songwriter Gurrumul grew up as a member of the Gumatj clan on Elcho Island, off the coast of tropical North East Arnhem land in Australia’s Northern Territory. Gurrumul’s songs speak of identity, spirit, connection with the land, the elements and the ancestral beings to whom he is related. His fragile but uniquely emotive high tenor voice and aura-like persona elicit feelings of peace and longing in listeners.
    Gurrumul first came to the world’s attention when his self-titled debut album Gurrumul was released to international acclaim in 2008. His angelic voice connected with fans the world over, including such notable names as Elton John, will.I.am, Sting, Gary Barlow, Quincy Jones and Stevie Wonder. Half a million copies of Gurrumul have been sold worldwide.

      This whole continent would be a safer place if we were under the governance of Indigenous owners as their custodianship lasted 65,000+ years as opposed to the current lot and the contamination of our food chain and water resources in the 236 years since.

    Tonight on a fight from NYC to LA while flicking though the movie options I stumbled upon the documentary about Gurrumul that was released after his passing. It is a beautiful and moving account of his life and his profound contribution to Australian culture. There’s so much to learn from the way he approached life and the deep respect he had for his indigenous ancestry. It goes without saying that he was a musical genius with one of those rare voices that touched hearts in an instant!

    Beautiful..... His passing is a great loss to Australia and the world ..
    So beautiful and full of soul, performed by two of Australia's legends; Gurrumul and Paul Kelly.
    Thank you... my body is tingling, my eyes full of tears, my soul cleansed....!

    This man is not blind. His eyes are seeing something. I think his sight is better than mine.

      @@sarahmill6963 what I meant by my comment was: Though he is blind in the flesh, he has sight in the spirit in a way that is to be admired and to be strived for. I'm saddened to hear he has passed, but rejoicing to know he is resting with Christ Jehovah.
      To your reply - I believe you'll note by the number of likes that there are many out there that understood what I was saying. So I hope you'll appreciate the lesson in humility by realizing the irony of your comment. Judge not. Why are we so quick to throw stones online? Even if I was a rude and arrogant person, would a brash judgement, preserved in eternity in the annals of time for all to see, be the way to change my heart my sister? The measure you use will be measured unto you. But lucky for the both of us sinners, there is grace and redemption and love abundant. I look forward to praising the father with Gurrumul when we reach that distant shore. Love.

      1Fom Paul Kelly is a very talented man. I also found his voice a little off on this. But he writes good music that suits his voice. When people have very unique voices like this, they can sound odd outside of their style.
      That said, the more I listen to this, to more I get it and appreciate them together.
