Wonderful news! Now you can treat the house like a job, go there for specified times each day, (without distractions) and still be close enough to have breakfast and dinner with the family. ❤️

I’m so happy for you guys! I feel like this change will free Art up to dive head first into the renovation while giving Bri some room (pun intended) to breathe! I loved when Grace asked if maybe she could have a sleepover now. It’s the little things that make a childhood great!! 😊

Ok i get it but Art you can not procrastinate the renovation of ur home!! You need help! I pray you get help it will hold you accountable!! Work the house 8 hr days like a job 5 days a week! You will get it done a lot sooner!! You might not be able to farm and renovate the way u want to in the future ! Get the home for ur family and farm later! Bri and kids can do animals while u work ur home!! This is because I’ve lived this and home and family came first! Then u can garden and farm🤗

So glad that you got a place so close to the homestead...I have prayed that you all could stay close and that Bri will be more comfortable and not feel so confined. The camper could be used for sleep overs at the homestead and it would be a little adventurous for the children. God is great all the time!!!

Why not just hire a mold eradicating company to do it right, once you are out of the old house. I guarantee it will be the cheapest route to go... Been there done that.

I’m so happy you found a rental that’s not only close to home but also is welcoming your family so enthusiastically!
It’s hard to believe you started this channel 4 years ago! I’ve been with you from the start and I’ve enjoyed getting to know your family.i appreciate that my children can watch your channel with me - and they do! They love seeing your kids and the animals. Your videography skills have grown as your homestead and family have - the shots of Art sitting in the barn talking - just lighting perfection. Having a YT channel is hard work. I appreciate you both sharing your life on your homestead with all of us and I’m glad it’s allowing you to be home full-time.
When you shared the plan to rent a home for winter and talked about the struggles you (Art) have had in managing the work on the house I thought the plan to partner with the contractor/life coach to assist you was an excellent solution. Sharing joys and successes is the easy bit. But how many of us would be willing to share the challenges? It’s hard for most of us to be vulnerable with our closest friends and family. Your channel is available for the world to view and enjoy and learn.
That video elicited so many comments I found myself reading through them all. I was astounded by the lack of compassion shown. Admonishing you for every decision you’ve made since the mold was discovered was common. Giving unsolicited advice on how to proceed going forward another - as if your plan of having guidance from a local man who is a contractor and life coach paled in comparison to the sage advice of strangers. But what I found most offensive were the comments of those that said they donated to the GoFundMe set up by Simeon & Alex. In donating money to anyone, it’s assumed you, the donor, believe your money will be put to good use because you trust that Art & Bri will use the funds wisely. Art & Bri have openly shared their challenges when it comes to this project. From the discovery of the mold to present they’ve had not only internal struggles within themselves, but kids have broken bones, Bri almost lost sight in one eye and we have the COVID pandemic. That the progress has been slower than anticipated does not equate mismanagement of funds. We are not Art & Bri. Only they get to decide what is best for their family at this time. All I saw was unsolicited advice telling them what they should and should not do. It was obnoxious and uncalled for - donating money doesn’t mean you bought the right to condemn them because you believe you would do things differently. This is the downside of accepting donations. It’s the downside of having a YT channel.
Long comment, I know. But I appreciate you both and have grown fond of your family.

    • @jemmiestone5731
      @jemmiestone5731 3 роки тому +9

Well said. I agree 100%. Some people just need to shut up and let Art and Bri raise their family and do things the way that they see fit. Some people should be ashamed of themselves for judging Art and Bri.

People that gave money have every right in the world to make honest thoughtful comments!!!
This GoFundMe gimmick has been abused by many, the homeless guy back East that gimmick supposedly gave $20 to a women that with her husband raised a few hundred thousand dollars - it was all’s scam. These people are well within their right to demand an accounting!!

    • @lmd2454
      @lmd2454 3 роки тому

@@edcurwick8383 no...they have no "rights" concerning how Art and Bri go about using those funds! First of all, they didn't ask for donations, they didn't set up the GoFundMe! Secondly, when we give to someone for any reason, once that $ is out of our bank account, it's out of our control. If you can't give with no strings attached, then don't give. Third...you don't follow the homeless guy that you gave $5 to, to see if he buys food or booze, do you?
How and when they use the funds is between them and God. Just because it isn't happening on someone else's timeline, doesn't mean they are misusing the funds or defrauding the givers.

      Sorry,
      it's called morality,
      character,
Honor -- it is what the Bible they say they live by calls for!
      Read PROVERBS!
It's all about living a life dedicated to Honor along with wisdom!!!
I realize today's society even wants to change God’s Word - this don't judge me!!!
      This crap is hogwash!
Every one of Christ’s Parables is about discerning the behavior of those mentioned in the narrative.
Amish and Mennonites do not work alone, it is the most ineffective method of accomplishing a task. He does not ever spend a complete dad working on that home.
I have done construction work throughout my lifetime, especially while a FireFighter, we ALWAYS worked as a team and always produced more on a project. There are plenty of verses in Proverbs speaking of the same.
I'm sorry your pride prevents you from listening to others much like other HomeSteaders that think they have some new-fangled way of raising livestock or crops...
      Ecclesiastes 1:9
      New International Version
9 What has been will be again,
      what has been done will be done again;
there is nothing new under the sun.
Sure there are advances in science, but those are also typically made as a team!!!
Art is a Nurse, as I have been.
Even nurses rarely work a shift without working with or for a team member.
People on Social Media draw out projects to get more views/Viewers/subscribers...
NOT TO get projects done effectively or efficiently.
The most effective use of ppl’s hard-earned money is to start the project, work whole hearty at it with as many hands required to accomplish the tasks at hand to make progress in an organized manner.
But Social Media has few people that work that way.
Wild Wonderful Off-grid even has two people working together, just like Life Uncontained, and there are new channels daily. The slower least effective are Red Poppy Ranch, the guy just has no clue but how to work Harder, NOT SMARTER...
      Just like this guy!
And they all are using other people’s money, some contribute by spending time watching the videos...
One day I will buy me land in Idaho and I'll hire a Helper or sub-contract out parts of a job because it is just the most effective manner to do it.
A prime example of this is Gilabrook Farms -- they have paid several subcontractors to do the best job possible!

Especially in the cold months could you imagen draining the tanks in freezing temps once a week. And its not like you could just put it off if today showed anything.. Or if the pipes to do it froze 😬... I deeply feel for Bri. I think its a LOT to take on with five kids so much to do in such a restricted place! Makes my heart happy to hear how happy their family is for this change! Even the kids like having a sleep over or something is impossible in the camper. In tbe summer you could do a camp out if kids parents agreed but squeezing extra friends in in the winter is hard. And we often forget those types of things kids want.. That camper life doesn't help. So happy for them!

      @@jessies3236 ,
Why so happy for them ? Their house money will be going to a landlord and not towards their own home.
The house money is being dribbled away and eventually they will run out of both money and time.
And have no home in the end. They need a real and effective plan .

Art and Bri knows what they are doing and what is good for their family. And it’s just for short term till Art finish the renovation in their house. For now the family’s health and well-being is more important.
Art and Bri are very hard working and if they decide for Art to go back to his nursing job, I think he will and if he works through the nurses agency he’ll make really good money during winter time.
All the best to Art and Bri, may ELOYHIM bless you both and your children abundantly and may ELOYHIM provide you with everything.

Sounds like our life a year ago . We tried to live in our barn / shop with an rv . We focused on how much money we would save but it was a lot harder than we thought with the three kids and homeschool . I think the hardest part was planning healthy meals with very little storage and fridge storage . We are in a small home in town now ........for now. We had so many plans with DATES . It was sad that it all didn’t work out like we had planned and what we have learned through all of that is that we look at plans as seasons now instead of dates . Our favorite book in the Bible is Ecclesiastes bc it reminds us that chasing money is like chasing the wind but what really matters is the gift of being able to work and enjoying the fruits with your family . We love being together and we got that mastered lol . According to my old checklist with dates I wasn’t up to par but according to Ecclesiastes I’m doing more than okay !!! :) The word is powerful! Blessings to you ! I’m a new subscriber and will be praying for you !

We’ve lived in a camper without kids, and then with only 2 kids, and even without all of the chores you all have to do I was totally overwhelmed. When we moved into a house after that it was like a palace and a new lease on life!! I think you will find that as your emotional health goes up, your work output will be much higher and with less effort. ❤️ Love to you all and thanks for sharing your journey with us!

I'm so happy for you all! I do have to wonder if it would be better in the long run to hire a crew to do the demolition work so you can move forward more quickly with the rebuild. It would save time, and hardship on you Art, trying to do it all on your own. You could still be there working with the crew, but you'll lessen the time significantly and be more available to take care of chores.

May God richly bless you as you continue making adjustments for the care of everyone in your family and the building of the House that Love built. And I hope and pray that you will experience loving support by your viewers as you so generously and genuinely share your life with us. You are loved and admired and appreciated by so many.

I think the move to a rental is a great decision. I can imagine how cramped the camper is with children especially in the winter! And it is also wonderful you found one close to the homestead. I foresee you getting down to house remodeling seriously once you have moved and situated. God bless all of you

What a wonderful decision you both made! Don't know how many of us could have lived in the trailer for a whole winter. A home is where the family is - even if it's a rental. May you find happiness and contentment there until you are back on your homestead! :o)

Love the alphabet and homeschooling! Brings back memories :-). A says aa, B says buh, C says kuh, T says tuh. Everything repeated out loud three times, and tracing the letter with a finger on a textured surface while saying A says aaa, then writing with a pencil while saying it out loud three times. Kuh, aa, tuh , spells cat. Two of us were dyslexic/add, so putting the info into the brain through speaking and hearing and feeling and writing and three times. Put the information as many times as necessary till it stayed and was accessible and repeatable. Every lesson day started with a review from A says aa up to the current point. That way nothing dropped out, if it did , just lay it in again, and keep building.

Wouldn't it make more sense to tear down the existing house, make whatever changes to the ground, grading, etc, and rebuild a new house from scratch? It just seems like so much extra work and stress to renovate a house that is moldy. The extra expense alone would be making me crazy! Good luck.

I’m so glad you found a place so close to your animals & away from your ground zero to be distanced from the mold zone most of the time, especially when sleeping, cooking, eating & teaching the kids. Art will have a respite for many hours after the work is accomplished each day & with G-d’s guidance surely it will go quite quickly but best of all well done!!

So happy you are renting a house so close!!! I can see how living in a trailer during winter with children could be extremely stressful! During the warmer months, living mostly outside is doable and can be fun short term. My prayer is this will set your and the family up to dive into the reno while having positive family life. Thank you for sharing your lives with us! I love your transparency and support your mission. Blessings!

      Thank you!
I have empathy for everyone facing the harsher weather coming. I'm in lowest SE USA, so will appreciate more sustained cold for longer than 2-3 days. We're plagued with mosquitoes, flies, ants, fleas, termites, palmetto bugs (giant flying cockroaches on steroids) etc. At least 1-2 weeks of a hard freeze is long enough to drastically reduce the populations through the year. 😍
When a child on a small farm in NC wooly worms were our winter predictor, too.
Another was the abundance of acorns, the more the colder. Providing the forest critters more food.

Happy for you finding a home so close to your homestead that you will be able to be close and now you will be able to treat the working on the moldy house as a job. Bri will have the room she needs for doing what needs to be done for your family. I pray that people in your church will volunteer to help you with many of the things needed to be done on your homestead house so you can move forward and get things done by the end of winter where you can see the light at the end of the tunnel. Don't be afraid to ask for help! We did and it was a great burden off our shoulders. God Bless you all and can't wait to see progress. :)
