In my mind, this song tells a more dark romantic tale, parallel to the child cloning story that the song was written to be. To me, this song represents the loss of the strange mix of maternal and sexual love you get from a partner. My former lover, in a strange way, loved me the way a mother would love her child. I watched her deteriorate before me, and there was nothing I could do to stop it, as hard as I tried. It was as if I walked in on an affair. So when this forbidden, taboo love was gone, it felt as if I had lost a piece of myself. The entire song, in my eyes, is a song that you feel ashamed and guilty for loving it in a dark way, like the song itself is watching you and shaming you for being such a strange individual. It is a complex emotion brought forth by a genius piece of music, seemingly eerily amplified in this rendition. Beautiful work.
This reminds me so much of my grandma, who was german and had alzhemer. Sometimes she would call for her mother, saying "mutter mutter" while she cryed because she thought her mother was still alive. Poor old woman, how she suffered.

Listen to this song from the perspective of an unborn child, aborted and killed in her mother's womb. It's his cry of betrayal and longing for a life they never had, lyrics hit harder when you think of it this way.
Whenever I listen to Rammstein it reminds me of someone dear to me because she showed me this amazing group, I have lost her and I still love her, whenever I listen to any song of there’s now all i can think of is her smile no matter the meaning, it kills me inside because I still love her and I probably won’t ever stop.

..oh ,i forgot - but that is MY SPECULATION - in Germany some registered NGO's are allowed to lawsuit you (in the name of customers rights, anti discrimination and.so.on and.so.on even if not effected themselfes!!) if you foult on PC. Two options: strict regulation in time AND on the matter, or avoid feedback at all so regulation not necessary. Pic one...
This song makes me think of my grandfather, he have been abandoned at birth by his parents, a little before WW2, by his mother because he was half German, and his father never wanted to hear of him because he was half French. So yeah, I guess that's explain what he felt his all life...
Yeah.... so he found an entire family in my grandmother when he met her, but, even if I love her with all my heart, I know she's not a very good person, she did things in the past that wasn't good, to him, and especially to my mother......
Yep, that's for sure.....it's always a big puzzle pretty hard to complete ;~; But still, Germany, Russia, Belgium, United Kingdom, France, I love all my roots, and feel bad when something bad happens to any of them... I guess I can't hate a country because of a single person, it would be stupid...
I'll end up believing this in the end, is that a joke? XDXDXDXD And yeah, I was talking about Germany, but because of my great great father. But hey, I got some German friends, and even If I stopped to talk to one of them (idk why he just began to become a stranger with me a day, he never told me why he was acting like this towards me all the sudden.... ;-;) but anyway, the others are good guys, so that's cool ^^

It's about a guy who is a test tube baby who kills his "mother" and then proceeds to kill himself, but fails to do so, instead leaves himself scarred and disfigured. This forces him to come to terms with the fact that even though he hated his mother, he needed her at that point more than ever.

I remember reading a review online somewhere a few weeks after it was out and it was criticized for sounding like "music you can listen to while you invade Poland." Lol, it cracked me up! All these years later l think of that review everytime l listen to anything off the album and laugh haha
The song is about the negative consequences of cloning Humans and the sad Thoughts of a Human who was never born properly and never received maternal Attention. The Tears of old Children (Human Material) pulled on the white Hair (the Needle) and the wet Chain (DNA Chain?) are Hints for the Act of Cloning. The Tube in the Throat and the Birthmark (RFID Chip?) what's deadly to remove, are Hints for artificial and controlled Production of Life Btw, here is a little Help for all Americans who don't know how to pronounce Rammstein correctly. Just imagine there would stay "Rrummshtyn" ;)

Can anyone explain why at 1:28 the lyrics say : "der" Mutter die mich nie geboren. I'm currently learning German and I've learnt that "die" comes before Mutter. Isn't this grammatically incorrect?
It's perfectly correct, actually. "Der Mutter" is the dative case of "die Mutter". It can be translated into English by "to the mother" ("to the mother who hasn't given birth to me" - der Mutter, die mich nie geboren"). "Die Mutter" is only used in the nominative and the accusative cases. Hope, that was helpful.

Listen to this song from the perspective of an unborn child, aborted and killed in her mother's womb. It's his cry of betrayal and longing for a life they never had, lyrics hit harder when you think of it this way.
Nothing will ever reach beauty such as this song and music
Yes, my mom is emotionally not there, father too, i have noone, but music. DANKE RAMMSTEIN
Why does this hit so deep in my heart...
**cries in German**
Why is it that 90% of Rammstein's music on UA-cam is removed, or only covers, instrumentals or lower pitch? Wtf????
They want people to purchase music through authorized retailers that pay royalties to them.
They're very good at keeping tabs/ royalties on their stuff
You can’t even comment on Rammstein videos 🤷♂️
...well, you can listen to the originals without any restrictions, so what's the problem? Ask this question to all those, who try to clickbait using R.'s stuff. My guess is: avoid filters which block unauthorized stuff, OR use of lousy software
..oh ,i forgot - but that is MY SPECULATION - in Germany some registered NGO's are allowed to lawsuit you (in the name of customers rights, anti discrimination and.so.on and.so.on even if not effected themselfes!!) if you foult on PC. Two options: strict regulation in time AND on the matter, or avoid feedback at all so regulation not necessary. Pic one...
this song breaks my heart everytime i listen to it💔
For all those who says german is rough and not poetic, just lusten to this!
My mom just told me that this song had come from the radio when I was born
Thats dark
I've literally learned German fluently to be able to sing their stuff. And believe me it is totally worth it.
wow, how long did it take you? :O
The moment u realize u have so much in common with this song that u die a little inside but u can’t stop listening to it
Mutter... Ich Liebe Dich
Ash Almond , So does Ed Kemper XDD
mein mutter. Fich das
the "what if" question: if there is no mother?
! it's a clone! Years ago unthinkable, but today??
mien mutter ist dott
Love Rammstein and love you Germany 🇩🇪 Iove from Australia 🇦🇺 🤘🏼🤘🏼💯
Love this song. It hurts so bad to listen to it's relatable
XDXDXDXD
And yeah, I was talking about Germany, but because of my great great father. But hey, I got some German friends, and even If I stopped to talk to one of them (idk why he just began to become a stranger with me a day, he never told me why he was acting like this towards me all the sudden.... ;-;) but anyway, the others are good guys, so that's cool ^^
Michael Laura Jackson life is so fucked
@@MichaelMilesDavid bitch stop acting like if we cared about your life, go to a psychologist if you want
wie viele hier kein deutsch sprechen gibt mir ein sehr gutes gefühl, egal ob amerikanischer edge lord oder deutscher hippster, rammstein ist für alle menschen
The song which made me love industrial metal ♥
Ich liebeeeee dieses Lied!!!!Rammstein ist einfach genial.👍
Hey guys, this song is NOT about abortion! It’s about the artificial conception of human beings in test tubes. Stop saying otherwise.
Feldmarschal Albert von Stoss you are right on the money
That's the impression I got from it, not abortion. Thanks, wasn't sure. I've heard different things.
Wow you guys are fucking dense. Holy shit. Like, holy shit. “Stop saying otherwise” want some fruit loops with your fucking massive ego, there, dick cheese? Interpretation. Is that a new word to your vocabulary?
Micah Vitko wat?
It's about a guy who is a test tube baby who kills his "mother" and then proceeds to kill himself, but fails to do so, instead leaves himself scarred and disfigured. This forces him to come to terms with the fact that even though he hated his mother, he needed her at that point more than ever.
3:42 liebe es wie dieses "verbluten muss" betont wird
I love this song! It's like listening to the Frankenstein monster.
Very much so! He basically sings about being born in vitro to a Machine, swearing to destroy "her" due to never having received love!
Its a beautiful fable about Humans needing human contact.
Thank you for posting this.
I love this album. I bought it the day it was released. I remember reading a review online somewhere a few weeks after it was out and it was criticized for sounding like "music you can listen to while you invade Poland." Lol, it cracked me up! All these years later l think of that review everytime l listen to anything off the album and laugh haha
Very sad song ...😢😢😢
I can't express how many feeling this song's make me
Love Flake for his amazing Symphony in the backround.
*Been a fan since 1997*
*I Live in Detroit*
*Music doesn’t have a language*
thats true....music is a world language
wow that is a pretty long time. Greetz from germany to U.S fella 💪
Hey thanks for making this... and it was uploaded on my b'day to boot :)
The Tube in the Throat and the Birthmark (RFID Chip?) what's deadly to remove, are Hints for artificial and controlled Production of Life
Btw, here is a little Help for all Americans who don't know how to pronounce Rammstein correctly. Just imagine there would stay "Rrummshtyn" ;)
Is abortion or I don’t understand
Its not pronounced as rrumshtyn its RA-M-SHTA-E-N
@@TheHomieJul I think its about a child who never received love from their mother, so they feel like they're not from a real womb and they're were made artificial. But in the end its all subjective, that's what's so awesome about music and art, it's all free for your own interpretation
Respect for the good translate from the Original german to the worldlanguege englisch. [-:
I played this when I do some art sketching but, this song is amazing

This is such a meaningful liest (song)
Sorry im French i was taught German in Cm2 (dont know what grade this is in Germanay or whatever but its the last grade of primary school)
With Fraü Leu.
I quite forgot everything.
Anyways love this song so thank you for the video.❤
I dedicated this song to my mom in mother's day when i was a kid lmao i didn't know the meaning
@@katiw4504 Thank you so much
Thats remember me of Brave New World, from Aldous Huxley
