Just get an SFP that supports 1g 2.5g 5g and 10g Problem solved. I will agree with you In saying That this machine is not perfect Now, one of the key things that it did need is 16 gigs of ram And two 10 gig SFP ports.
Curious what kind of sustained speeds youre seeing for large files (4+ GB)? The drive speeds will be the bottleneck long before the 10G network but still curious how well it handles large video transfers.
Hey Terry how are you doing? Saw the drop on this Nas, yea it sucks there's no 2.5 or dual 10 gig ports or any USB ports, I may get this but will give it some time, Synology has all the bells and whistles, but dam there asking price is on the higher end. I like the sharing features on this Nas. Great video man, I see you finally bought their rack.🙂
Thanks Terry for the informative video. Assuming your using Lightroom Classic, thoughts on using this to store your images? I would assume your LR Catalog would remain on your computer, along with images that you are currently working on, editing etc. I realize the different ports on this NAS, do you think the speed is fast enough? Big Thanks
That's exactly what I do. You have to keep the catalog on a local drive. Best to keep current images on the local drive too for performance. Then move them to the NAS right in LrC when the current shoot is processed. "Fast enough" is relative. It's fast enough for me.
@@TerryLeeWhite Thanks Terry for your response and conquering my thoughts. You hit the nail the head with the speed, it is "relative". Good luck with the unit and looking any future thoughts.
Thanks , great review , you are the only one which reviewed this product and
said about the 1gig which should been 2.5gig, I will wait for that

I didn’t think Adobe allowed storage on a NAS. That’s the reasons I haven’t invested in a NAS instead relying on external SSDs
@@jeffstephens5266 images yes, catalog no. Been doing it for years.
How come you cannot upload files from your mobile device when you use? in the UI drive app.
@@raymondbento7744 works fine uploading using the UI Identity app on my iPhone.
Can you access the share via a Unifi site to site vpn?
I've not tried that, but I can't think of any reason why not.
