Great video Josh! Always good to hear you explain your safety protocols during calving season - a good reminder. Lovely calves. Great teamwork to bring the new little ones into the world. Well done!
Great educational entertaining video very nice roan heifer calf a real keeper glad you two lads are making alterations to handling facilities to keep yourselves and the cows safe ps Phil is some laugh 😂
Cant ever be too careful around cows with calves. I checked a calf one morning and the cow came from nowhere and butted me out the way, glad she stopped. Just get complacent as you are round them everyday. Too many accidents in farming mate to become another statistic. 👍🏻 Great video J, always something to do or change.
I couldn't agree more! I have been on the receiving end of an angry Bull before. One that had never shown any sign of being aggressive before. Thanks pal! 👍🏻
Hello Josh UA-cam recommended me one of your videos a few weeks ago. I have now caught up with all your videos up til this one, and I have a few questions. How do you get that big John Deere combine through those narrow lanes and into the fields? The place where you store the solid manure. I my ears it sounds like you call it the “mitten”. English is not my native language, so maybe I am hearing it wrong, but is that the correct spelling? I have never heard it called “mitten” in English before. I really enjoy your videos and I am very impressed with the setup you have for handling cattle and sheep. I am no longer involved in farming, but I grew up on a small farm with my parents Herefords here in Denmark. I still enjoy farming, even if it is now only through watching UA-cam videos. Keep up the good work. Kind regards Kenneth
Hi Kenneth! Thanks for looking through the videos! We have to bring the combine in across a neighbours farm that has better road access. We would never get it down our lanes! We call the dung pit a midden. A few people have mentioned this now so I am starting to think it must be a local saying! Great to know you enjoyed a farming upbringing! Hope you continue to enjoy the videos!

Brilliant nice to see calf's 👍
On the cow brush how long do the Brussels last ?
Thanks Antony! They should do a couple years before needing replacing. Only £18 to replace the brush parts though!
Great video, all the calves coming naturally or had any complications with any?
All been fine so far. Jon had to assist one cow but it was late night and he just wanted it out so he could not worry about it.

Another good video 👍
Thanks as always Allan! 👍
Do you ever roll your silage fields in the spring, I know some people do and some people don’t
Some and some. If they got poached and the conditions are right then we will. Sometimes you can do more harm than good!
