    Thanks for this whole series on the sequencer. You explained everything really clearly, but the innate complexity means I've benefitted from repeat watching!

    I love this synth mainly because of the dice button and the sounds

    Thanks for these videos! Re your note about Backwards Loop mode at 1:49 - this is how it's designed to work, and the wavestate works the same way. The Lane starts from the Start point; when it hits the Loop End, it loops according to the setting. I understand that starting playback at the Loop End might be fun too; that would be an additional mode.

    Great demo. That is one powerful sequencer.

    Mate thankfully you re explaining things very well, but if you showed your switches a little bit slower my brain could manage to follow your steps. :) Thank you that you showed it anyway

    Excellent video, the most comprehensive tutorial on Modwave, for SURE! Thanks for your hard work!
    Just a quick question, how do you retrigger the hihat you have on the sequence? I've tried everything but the sequence only plays the samples once and does not retrigger them. Any Tips?

      I can't remember exactly what I did as it was a little while ago, but I'd wager: it's not a sample. It'll probably be noise and I'm enveloping the level.

    Could this sequencer be used as an external sequencer to control the opsix with the same level of customisation?

    holy crap, I almost fired mine up to learn the sequencer earlier today. But I stopped cuz you didn't have a video. wtf

      That's the kind of psychic service we offer here at Oscillator S Inc.

    I know the WS comes with software to allow for better access to the sequencer, it makes lane sequencing a ton easier to use and understand, is this software the same for the Modwave?
    If yes, I suggest highly using it.

    Thanks a lot for the video, I have some questions
    1) Is it possible to assign 1 sample for each key? Like drum drum, snare, drum, snare snare ?
    2) Is it possible to make the sequencer independent of what I play on the piano? Like I have my drum sequencer running indefinitely while a I playing yet another sample on the piano... like a piano sample sound.
    3) Is it possible to have a sequencer on Layer A running indefinitely independent of tha layer B? So on my layer A I have my drum sequencer going on, and then on layer A, I have a piano sample that when I press the keys, it does not change/interfere with the looping sequencer on Layer A.
    4) Can I have more than one sequencer happening on the same layer? Or are we locked to only 1?

    • @OscillatorSink
      @OscillatorSink  Рік тому

      1) some of the sample packs do that, and you can load your own, but you'd have to sort that out in the editor.
      2) on a single layer - no, but you can kind of make it work that way across two layers, but it's not really set up to do it without some work arounds
      3) see 2
      4) one sequencer per layer, and there are 2 layers, but each sequencer has multiple lanes.
      If you want a better overview of the general functions of the sequencer, you might want to check out part one of this series. It's not a "normal" sequencer so you might be missing some context here.

      @@OscillatorSink Wow, that was fast, thanks bud, I think I got to the conclusion that the sequencer is not going to do what I want and I will have to buy another hardware just to do that... like novation circuit tracker or some other drum sequencer machine and pair with the modwave.

    • @gazzar67
      @gazzar67 Рік тому

      With your first question, are you kind of asking whether it's possible to sequence a drum pattern using one of the multisampled drumkits? Unfortunately I think the answer is no, because I don't think there's any way to coax the modwave sequencer to output a trigger per step, which you need for triggering samples. This is my personal bugbear with the sequencer, but it is what it is.

    • @airwolfnh
      @airwolfnh Рік тому

      @@gazzar67 yes, that's what I want.... oh well... anyway, looks like I need to buy something that is good at doing only that.

      I would take a look at the Keystep Pro and Beatstep Pro as a starting point.
