As an older woman I get tons of friend requests from "men" claiming to be handsome widowers. It's really sad how these scammers are all over the place looking prey on lonely people. I just feel sorry for the folks that fall for these scams.
I also get those "friend" requests". They always like to say they couldn't friend me on Facebook so could I message them. I always report them after I say something about how they are probably Nigerian that's parents are brother and sister.
I get what I call green cards proposals, if I talk to talk to them( when I’m bored), I already know they’re a scam and not surprised when they ask for money…then it’s bye bye and block

I get them too I just block them. It's really sad that people so desperately want somebody in their lives that they fall for the ingenuine sweet talk. It's heartbreaking honestly.
I was on a dating site and I contacted by a romance scammer, when he asked me what I do for a living I told him that I work for trilogy media (Wich I don't I just had to make sure it wasn't a scam). And he instantly blocked me. So I thank art and Ashton for helping me without you even know you saved me. I appreciate all the work you do to help us. You saved me Alot of time and money
Like me who told ever salesperson who called me "I'm a minor" for years after I turned 20 😂 they were always SO quick to hang up all of a sudden.. bcs they couldn't make up any contracts legally with a minor, sooo.. Why be truthful when they aren't.. lie your azz off.. pretend to be completely crazy or something..

He is indeed a special soul. Its very hard to have this virus Epstein Bar virus it changes us... I have a chronic health issue and it was hard... we become vulnerable... i admire him he is wonderful and Angel.

I love Trilogy Media does, but we need government or social media intervention to make real change. I know some things have changed regarding the banks and gift cards, but more needs to be done. Scammers are always adapting and it may feel like playing wack-a-mole, but doing nothing is not the answer.

It's really a warning to scammers that you don't know who you're dealing with, and your attempt to pressure someone into giving you their life savings might trigger suicide instead. Scammers like to tell themselves nobody is being hurt, because westerners are all rich, or insurance will pay them back if they get scammed, but the truth is it can lead to death.

@@s_khan8693 The banks are actually not only enablers of this scam, but accessories. Maybe not intentionally but by not doing a lot more to warn customers of the red flags they make it that much easier for these scammers and give the customers no recourse. Not to mention on all the Craigslist scams etc where they take bad counterfeited checks and then hold the customer who deposited it accountable. Yes the customer was gullible and got suckered but the bank is the one you would think would be the experts on counterfeit checks, not your average joe customer.

Maybe if they did more then just "watch" it would actually help prevent this or at least cut way down? If I was a banker or a teller the customer would literally have to physically force me before I would allow them to be scammed like this. He was scammed, became suicidal, tried to take his life then accidentally shot himself where he nearly died, all because some heartless lowlife pretending to like him in order to scam him. But he made it through and shared his experience with us which is why the op's comment is so true, he really is incredible guy and a lot stronger than he thinks he is. He probably helped so many people with this story and video myself included
not a liability, but it is not far out of the realm to say he has been and is debilitated, nothing wrong with that because once you know what problems you suffer from you can make use of what strengths you do have especially with the help of a rehabilitation counselor
This happened to me about 3 months ago. Instead of panicking and sending the scammers the money or the new laptop that the "father" demanded. I ended up calling the sheriff's department. Truly one of the most stressful moments I've ever had. I feel for this dude.
I get these adds on Facebook like every few weeks their pretty easy to tell. If some hot chick randomly adds you and is trying hard to talk look at her profile. Usually they have zero comments from friends or family and the only people on their friends are older guys

I have a friend who fell for romance scammer and committed suicide because of shame she lost everything from her retirement money, jewelry and life. I wish we have this UA-cam back then 2011 . Please continue to exposed this evil people. I think the person she’s been texting or emailing her is from Nigeria she easily fell for his flowery smooth words not knowing who he really is and the picture he sent is not what he is. Ladies beware his target widows and longing for love.
I appreciate the effort and these scammers are truly despicable but what exactly are they accomplishing here? It’s not like the scammers are using their own pictures. They use different pictures with different victims so even if they get busted they’ll just use different pictures on a new victim. I’m really confused what the point of this channel is other than spreading romance scam awareness and providing some comedic relief (not in this video, this is sad but in most of their content). Seems like they could be using their time and resources in a more productive manner to stop scammers.

I had to skip the part where he said " Am I ever gonna see these people again?" That hit home and I'm glad he made it, because suicide hits home for me. The pain he must have gone through I can't imagine.
My good female friend got scammed for the last 7 months... she didn’t tell anyone until she waited for him at the airport, ans of course he never showed up.. she is beyond devastated, money is one thing, but having your heart broken is simply cruel 😓
Trust me on this they will pay in the next life. All they want is money and they’re never going to take it with him and they never are going to be loved or what love so hell is where they’re going
@@kathyr.8135 I hope so too 😔. Even after showing her all the undeniable evidence (I found the man he was pretending to be), she wouldn’t stop talking to him. Guess what happened? She told him that a friend found out he’s not who he’s pretending to be and that she has proof and so on, so he “came clean” to her; He’s a Nigerian who did initially try to scam her, but now after all the time they spent getting to know each other (never by phone or video of course) he really fell in love with her!! At this point there’s nothing more I can do. I’ve spent so much time and energy trying to talk her out of it, it’s insane. I could write in novel about this, but among other things, he had her buy a freaking house (thank god it didn’t go through) that he wanted to buy for them (being a millionaire but not having access to his international accounts). Not only he broke her heart but he could’ve had her put in jail! She has 3 young children, it’s beyond me. I’m so upset she doesn’t want to see the reality even after all of this!! They always have a plan B, I despise them with all my soul, and I hope karma gets them.

Its not the scammers fault. People need to get over themselves and not take themselves so seriously. People go through real shit in life. Rapes.....divorce that cripples them financially....disease.....loss of job....etc. and still go on with life. Get over yourselves people. Set a goal and do what you have to do to get it and stay busy. Get rid of TV....go out and exercise...walk for an hour or more a day. Set a financial goal and WORK---two three jobs--- to reach it. Keep your mind occupied instead of sitting around feeling sorry for yourself thinking you NEED someone else to be happy. Who would want that in their life anyways? Someone who is miserable and thinks that YOU are the cure. What a joke. You are just going to be a burden to them too once you are over the "lonely" thing and you realize you're STILL miserable.

@@peartfaldo while this has truth to it, not many people grew that way and, instead, grew with attachment issues and codependency tendencies. While it is their responsibility to work on healing that, most people are not even aware of it because most schools and such never speak about self-love and attachment issues and in many countries therapy and stuff is very expensive. So, yes, you can't really expect everyone to know and be aware of this. You can try helping them and teach them, but expecting everyone to know and be aware comes from a place of luck and privilege, in my opinion.

I wish people see these videos more, rather than eye catching crimes, twisted personalities, etc. Our behaviors have consequences, and we are all just normal human. Most of us just pay the "$400" for some type of service or membership and don't ask questions, sometimes it's because our busy days and we want to move on and get back to our lives and work 😮. Not realizing we are paying for something we don't even use or had signed up for, yet each month we see that on our bank statement, or we just simply miss between all the bills we pay. there was a horrifying case on forensic files where a woman looked for retired cops in chat rooms.. she connected with this retired detective, seduced him, sent him "video tapes" and they did meet once or twice... but alot was online stuff and phone...well she said she was "pregnant" with the guys kid, despite being married and had kids and had a hysterectomy years earlier..she sent the guy a fake ultrasound of their "baby" the poor guy grew to love a baby which did not exist.. she then screwed with his mind saying her husband was into mob stuff, was a Domestic abuser, and caused a miscarriage of the fake baby to get him to kill her husband, which he did... she played on his emotions till he lost it... sharee miller..and she sent him photos of a fake bruised belly saying she was attacked by her husband... and once he knew the truth the detective ended his life... horrible how people like that exist..ua-cam.com/video/HvhwywuufMA/v-deo.html

You guys are incredible, thank you exposing these disgusting people. Hopefully by doing this you will stop one or two of these people from commiting fraud. They can see that there's a real human being on the other side of their scam and what these scams can do to a person. Dustin is a very courageous person for telling his story and he is definitely helping others by telling his story.
So thankful for Dustin's life. Depression and anxiety are some of the worst things that happen to someone especially when they come together. From the outside, it might look silly, but only those who have gone through them or those who have heart and human sympathy can understand it takes strength, perseverance and total support from loved ones to overcome. I sincerely hope that Dustin is doing okay and I hope this serves as a reminder to those going through different things today to not lose hope or themselves. It will get better. It won't be easy but soon enough you will look back at these tough times and realise how strong you really have been. Also to the scammer (the ariana one), I heard the language of someone in the background, that was Yoruba, a Nigerian language. It's so sad to see fellow Nigerians at the top of list of scammers today. It's so sad and unfathomable why someone (claiming to be a human being) would put a fellow human through such torture and misery (be it in romantic setting or otherwise). I can't even imagine going through this. I have major anxiety that when I perceive something as a scam I run. I don't even give people the chance because I know if I fall for it, I will break down. But it doesn't mean I'm more careful or wiser. it doesn't even have anything to do with me. But the scammers, the evil people who rejoice at the pain of those who have worked hard for every penny, cent and kobo. I just wonder how these people can go to sleep at night with illegally gotten money floating in their accounts. So, I'm beseeching fellow Nigerians (and every other person with such motif) to please cut it out, put a stop to this and remember that if tables are turned you would hate to be in such position. Its NOT the scammers fault that someone kills themselves. These are simply thieves. The people who think the "cure" for their miserable lives---when in reality they are probably way better off than most---is being with someone else are just selfish. This has happened to me 3 times in 8 years... I lost a total of $20,000 on date sites.Some of these girls are so patient they wait 1 year for you to send money.How can people be so heartless that after a year they dont even care about you after they know you? Unbelievable

This video really speaks to me. My life experience with romance scammers is similar, but different. I was deeply depressed after my teacher Joe tragically passed. I felt like the good deeds of the past was all for nothing, so I went exploring on the internet thinking I could find "love." I've had very cold encounters with scammer type of women. I actually went out with a girl who was very scammer like. I put on a mask thinking it would help ease the pain, but instead it nearly tore me apart from the inside. After being tortured by that person for too long, I finally gave up on her thankfully. That was back in 2018. Then comes 2019 when I found you guys and IRL Rosie. I found part of my soul again, but I was still fighting depression. This year, I lost two family pets, and I let myself get fooled yet again by a couple of "Bella Jacks'." They got me to trust them through fakeness, manipulation, fear, and submission. Thankfully I snapped out of their cult like tatics, and I'm slowly recovering from all the madness. Thank you for posting this. We all need to learn how to not give our full trust in people who might turn out to be playing with your emotions. Let go of the whole romance bullshit, but keep hope alive in your mind and soul. ♡♡♡♡♡♡
Vulnerable people getting scammed just angers me. I never let myself be vulnerable. My therapist says because I never let myself be vulnerable, I'd never find the happiness I'm seeking. So, I see people opening up, like I SHOULD, and getting scammed. It makes me feel jealous because I can't be vulnerable, but also vindicated because I can't be vulnerable. I'm born and raised in denver and lived on and off in the springs for many years and also lived right near to dublin park. I don't remember hearing about any of this but I do recognize him he seems extremely familiar. Thank God he made it through it though. I got stabbed in my heart and lung (sent brandon an email a while back for all of you and mentioned it in there) and barely survived too so I know it takes a strong man and a good God to make it through something like that. This man is meant to be on this earth
This hits way too close to home. I can relate to a lot of this. Thank you for giving Dustin the chance to share his story. I really feel for him and I’m glad he wasn’t as badly injured as he would’ve been as he had “planned”. This story could’ve ended up much worse and to see him find hope and seeing how much strength he really has inside is inspiring. His story, along with the insights of online dating scams show just how many people there are in the world you need to be cautious of. You never know who it is you’re talking to. Great job Ashton and Trilogy Media for putting together another great episode we could all learn from.
What a sweet guy, so sad what he went through, what a great philosophy he has now. I'll never forget how POF spammed my daughters email, she was 8 yrs old and I set up an email address for her to keep in touch with a friend who had moved to Australia and also to enter disney competitions, she (well I really) was getting 50+ messages a day saying so and so likes you, I had not and never have since had an account with POF or any other dating site for that matter so its a bit strange how anyone could claim to like me, let alone my 8yr old so I found an email address for them and threatened to report them if they didn't remove this email from their mailing list, I dont remember who I said I would report them to, but it stopped the emails. Just goes to show you don't even need to have an account to get spammed

Wow this story! Breaks my heart. I can sometimes feel as if all evil people are men (not that all men are evil) but definitely a reminder that there are just some evil people out there period and they come in all shapes, colors, sizes, and gender and they’ll stop at nothing. As an older woman I get tons of friend requests from "men" claiming to be handsome widowers. It's really sad how these scammers are all over the place looking prey on lonely people. I just feel sorry for the folks that fall for these scams.
I also get those "friend" requests". They always like to say they couldn't friend me on Facebook so could I message them. I always report them after I say something about how they are probably Nigerian that's parents are brother and sister.
I get what I call green cards proposals, if I talk to talk to them( when I’m bored), I already know they’re a scam and not surprised when they ask for money…then it’s bye bye and block

I get them too I just block them. It's really sad that people so desperately want somebody in their lives that they fall for the ingenuine sweet talk. It's heartbreaking honestly.
I was on a dating site and I contacted by a romance scammer, when he asked me what I do for a living I told him that I work for trilogy media (Wich I don't I just had to make sure it wasn't a scam). And he instantly blocked me. So I thank art and Ashton for helping me without you even know you saved me. I appreciate all the work you do to help us. You saved me Alot of time and money
Oh that's a handy trick. Anyone who's real would probably be super intrigued by that while scammers would run in an instant.
Like me who told ever salesperson who called me "I'm a minor" for years after I turned 20 😂 they were always SO quick to hang up all of a sudden.. bcs they couldn't make up any contracts legally with a minor, sooo..

I love Trilogy Media does, but we need government or social media intervention to make real change. I know some things have changed regarding the banks and gift cards, but more needs to be done. Scammers are always adapting and it may feel like playing wack-a-mole, but doing nothing is not the answer.

Obviously the scam was the catalyst for his suicide attempt, but something in this kid's life has deeply traumatized him way before that call.

It's really a warning to scammers that you don't know who you're dealing with, and your attempt to pressure someone into giving you their life savings might trigger suicide instead. Scammers like to tell themselves nobody is being hurt, because westerners are all rich, or insurance will pay them back if they get scammed, but the truth is it can lead to death.

Maybe not intentionally but by not doing a lot more to warn customers of the red flags they make it that much easier for these scammers and give the customers no recourse. Not to mention on all the Craigslist scams etc where they take bad counterfeited checks and then hold the customer who deposited it accountable. Yes the customer was gullible and got suckered but the bank is the one you would think would be the experts on counterfeit checks, not your average joe customer.
In short, here is the quote.. "I am a banker who has watched several people lose their entire life savings to romance scams". Maybe if they did more then just "watch" it would actually help prevent this or at least cut way down? If I was a banker or a teller the customer would literally have to physically force me before I would allow them to be scammed like this. Yes, I would try harder just for the sake of humanity.. ya think?

He was scammed, became suicidal, tried to take his life then accidentally shot himself where he nearly died, all because some heartless lowlife pretending to like him in order to scam him. But he made it through and shared his experience with us which is why the op's comment is so true, he really is incredible guy and a lot stronger than he thinks he is. He probably helped so many people with this story and video myself included

This happened to me about 3 months ago. Instead of panicking and sending the scammers the money or the new laptop that the "father" demanded. I ended up calling the sheriff's department. Truly one of the most stressful moments I've ever had. I feel for this dude.

I get these adds on Facebook like every few weeks their pretty easy to tell. If some hot chick randomly adds you and is trying hard to talk look at her profile. Usually they have zero comments from friends or family and the only people on their friends are older guys

I have a friend who fell for romance scammer and committed suicide because of shame she lost everything from her retirement money, jewelry and life. I wish we have this UA-cam back then 2011 . Please continue to exposed this evil people. I think the person she’s been texting or emailing her is from Nigeria she easily fell for his flowery smooth words not knowing who he really is and the picture he sent is not what he is. It’s not like the scammers are using their own pictures. They use different pictures with different victims so even if they get busted they’ll just use different pictures on a new victim.
I’m really confused what the point of this channel is other than spreading romance scam awareness and providing some comedic relief (not in this video, this is sad but in most of their content).
Seems like they could be using their time and resources in a more productive manner to stop scammers.

My good female friend got scammed for the last 7 months... she didn’t tell anyone until she waited for him at the airport, ans of course he never showed up.. she is beyond devastated, money is one thing, but having your heart broken is simply cruel 😓

@@kathyr.8135 I hope so too 😔. Even after showing her all the undeniable evidence (I found the man he was pretending to be), she wouldn’t stop talking to him. Guess what happened? She told him that a friend found out he’s not who he’s pretending to be and that she has proof and so on, so he “came clean” to her; He’s a Nigerian who did initially try to scam her, but now after all the time they spent getting to know each other (never by phone or video of course) he really fell in love with her!! At this point there’s nothing more I can do. I’ve spent so much time and energy trying to talk her out of it, it’s insane. I could write in novel about this, but among other things, he had her buy a freaking house (thank god it didn’t go through) that he wanted to buy for them (being a millionaire but not having access to his international accounts). Not only he broke her heart but he could’ve had her put in jail! She has 3 young children, it’s beyond me. I’m so upset she doesn’t want to see the reality even after all of this!! They always have a plan B, I despise them with all my soul, and I hope karma gets them.

Its not the scammers fault. People need to get over themselves and not take themselves so seriously. People go through real shit in life. Rapes.....divorce that cripples them financially....disease.....loss of job....etc. and still go on with life. Get over yourselves people. Set a goal and do what you have to do to get it and stay busy. Get rid of TV....go out and exercise...walk for an hour or more a day. Set a financial goal and WORK---two three jobs--- to reach it. Keep your mind occupied instead of sitting around feeling sorry for yourself thinking you NEED someone else to be happy. Who would want that in their life anyways? Someone who is miserable and thinks that YOU are the cure. What a joke. You are just going to be a burden to them too once you are over the "lonely" thing and you realize you're STILL miserable.

@@peartfaldo while this has truth to it, not many people grew that way and, instead, grew with attachment issues and codependency tendencies. While it is their responsibility to work on healing that, most people are not even aware of it because most schools and such never speak about self-love and attachment issues and in many countries therapy and stuff is very expensive. So, yes, you can't really expect everyone to know and be aware of this. You can try helping them and teach them, but expecting everyone to know and be aware comes from a place of luck and privilege, in my opinion.

Finding someone with similar experiences and feelings to talk to is extremely helpful.
I wish people see these videos more, rather than eye catching crimes, twisted personalities, etc. Our behaviors have consequences, and we are all just normal human. Most of us just pay the "$400" for some type of service or membership and don't ask questions, sometimes it's because our busy days and we want to move on and get back to our lives and work 😮. Not realizing we are paying for something we don't even use or had signed up for, yet each month we see that on our bank statement, or we just simply miss between all the bills we pay. there was a horrifying case on forensic files where a woman looked for retired cops in chat rooms.. she connected with this retired detective, seduced him, sent him "video tapes" and they did meet once or twice... but alot was online stuff and phone...well she said she was "pregnant" with the guys kid, despite being married and had kids and had a hysterectomy years earlier..she sent the guy a fake ultrasound of their "baby" the poor guy grew to love a baby which did not exist.. she then screwed with his mind saying her husband was into mob stuff, was a Domestic abuser, and caused a miscarriage of the fake baby to get him to kill her husband, which he did... she played on his emotions till he lost it... sharee miller..and she sent him photos of a fake bruised belly saying she was attacked by her husband... and once he knew the truth the detective ended his life... horrible how people like that exist..ua-cam.com/video/HvhwywuufMA/v-deo.html

They can see that there's a real human being on the other side of their scam and what these scams can do to a person. So thankful for Dustin's life. Depression and anxiety are some of the worst things that happen to someone especially when they come together. From the outside, it might look silly, but only those who have gone through them or those who have heart and human sympathy can understand it takes strength, perseverance and total support from loved ones to overcome. I sincerely hope that Dustin is doing okay and I hope this serves as a reminder to those going through different things today to not lose hope or themselves. It will get better. It won't be easy but soon enough you will look back at these tough times and realise how strong you really have been.
Also to the scammer (the ariana one), I heard the language of someone in the background, that was Yoruba, a Nigerian language. It's so sad to see fellow Nigerians at the top of list of scammers today. It's so sad and unfathomable why someone (claiming to be a human being) would put a fellow human through such torture and misery (be it in romantic setting or otherwise). I can't even imagine going through this. I have major anxiety that when I perceive something as a scam I run. I don't even give people the chance because I know if I fall for it, I will break down. But it doesn't mean I'm more careful or wiser. it doesn't even have anything to do with me. But the scammers, the evil people who rejoice at the pain of those who have worked hard for every penny, cent and kobo. I just wonder how these people can go to sleep at night with illegally gotten money floating in their accounts. So, I'm beseeching fellow Nigerians (and every other person with such motif) to please cut it out, put a stop to this and remember that if tables are turned you would hate to be in such position. Work hard, pray, persevere and be hopeful. No money taste better than the one you worked for (legally). I promise.

I had a cousin who sadly died from suicide by gun. He wasn’t scammed but had a lot of other things going on.
My oldest son has severe anxiety, depression and social phobia. He has a lot more going on so I am working with him to find out what’s happening. He tells me that when I die he’s taking his life. He’s only here because of me. I remind him he has a younger brother but it doesn’t matter to him. It breaks my heart. I know he can’t help what he thinks or how he feels and I pray that one day he will get the help he needs. He has only sought help this year and he’s just turned 18. He has a long way to go and I hope he realises one day soon that he matters. He is important. He does have a purpose.

This has happened to me 3 times in 8 years... I lost a total of $20,000 on date sites.Some of these girls are so patient they wait 1 year for you to send money.How can people be so heartless that after a year they dont even care about you after they know you? Unbelievable

This video really speaks to me. My life experience with romance scammers is similar, but different. I was deeply depressed after my teacher Joe tragically passed. I felt like the good deeds of the past was all for nothing, so I went exploring on the internet thinking I could find "love." I've had very cold encounters with scammer type of women. I actually went out with a girl who was very scammer like. I put on a mask thinking it would help ease the pain, but instead it nearly tore me apart from the inside. After being tortured by that person for too long, I finally gave up on her thankfully. That was back in 2018. Then comes 2019 when I found you guys and IRL Rosie. I found part of my soul again, but I was still fighting depression. This year, I lost two family pets, and I let myself get fooled yet again by a couple of "Bella Jacks'." They got me to trust them through fakeness, manipulation, fear, and submission. Thankfully I snapped out of their cult like tatics, and I'm slowly recovering from all the madness. Thank you for posting this. We all need to learn how to not give our full trust in people who might turn out to be playing with your emotions. Let go of the whole romance bullshit, but keep hope alive in your mind and soul. ♡♡♡♡♡♡

Vulnerable people getting scammed just angers me. I never let myself be vulnerable. My therapist says because I never let myself be vulnerable, I'd never find the happiness I'm seeking. So, I see people opening up, like I SHOULD, and getting scammed. It makes me feel jealous because I can't be vulnerable, but also vindicated because I can't be vulnerable. I wish I could be vulnerable, just once. You're very brave! ❤️

I'm born and raised in denver and lived on and off in the springs for many years and also lived right near to dublin park. I don't remember hearing about any of this but I do recognize him he seems extremely familiar. Thank God he made it through it though. I got stabbed in my heart and lung (sent brandon an email a while back for all of you and mentioned it in there) and barely survived too so I know it takes a strong man and a good God to make it through something like that. This man is meant to be on this earth

I really feel for him and I’m glad he wasn’t as badly injured as he would’ve been as he had “planned”. This story could’ve ended up much worse and to see him find hope and seeing how much strength he really has inside is inspiring. His story, along with the insights of online dating scams show just how many people there are in the world you need to be cautious of. You never know who it is you’re talking to. What a sweet guy, so sad what he went through, what a great philosophy he has now. I'll never forget how POF spammed my daughters email, she was 8 yrs old and I set up an email address for her to keep in touch with a friend who had moved to Australia and also to enter disney competitions, she (well I really) was getting 50+ messages a day saying so and so likes you, I had not and never have since had an account with POF or any other dating site for that matter so its a bit strange how anyone could claim to like me, let alone my 8yr old so I found an email address for them and threatened to report them if they didn't remove this email from their mailing list, I dont remember who I said I would report them to, but it stopped the emails. Just goes to show you don't even need to have an account to get spammed

I can sometimes feel as if all evil people are men (not that all men are evil) but definitely a reminder that there are just some evil people out there period and they come in all shapes, colors, sizes, and gender and they’ll stop at nothing.
