@@JamieOrr I'm also glad to see some external cosmetic mods for the MK7. I had a MK6 GLI and was disappointed there really weren't any. Still have love for the Dubs though.

I work in the detail portion at audi/volkswagen reading when this car came in and we painted the front lip I believe on it. Sweet car even better in person
Yes!! That was the lip being repaired after the Philadelphia Auto Show, where it was slightly damaged :-)

I have the 19 Jetta S brand new June 18. Now has 72k miles on it. Drove it across the USA up mountains through blizzards and through death valley. I'm waiting for my warranty to end so I can begin modifying. I also have it in this exact same color.
SICK build!!! I just picked up a Mk7 and am looking going to model it after your build. I definitely want to do the GLI headlight retrofit, so if you could help me with the wiring, that would be awesome! Also, I was told I couldn't put 20's on but you did, how were you able to get 20's to fit? Look forward to hearing from you soon!!

ThIs car & work done is beautiful. I don't understand trying to get more hp out of a 140 to180 when you could've just bought a GLI. Beautiful car & outstanding clip.

I really want that front lip and the extension things for the front bumper but what I haven't seen before that I want is a mean looking grill guard. I also want those diffusers for under the rear bumper.
I'd also like a proper spoiler and some louvers for the back window. This car has such good bones I just want to go all out. I have the base model though so I don't think much will fit without major modification
This is a Jetta S (base model). I chose it because it looks smoother without the sunroof and the mirror signals.
The front grill is the original but with a chrome strip painted.
The rear spoiler and the front lip are available to purchase via ECSTuning.

i know you said that the wheels were 20'' could you tell me the full specs? Are they 20x8.5s and what's the offset lol Also any chance you know what the spring rates are on the kws? because i have a 2019 se id love to get up to this quality, like you i fell in love with the body lines of this car and i wanted a fun good looking car for a daily/weekend show car. Awesome build, Jamie. The decklid spoiler is my favorite body piece. Do you know if/when APR is going to release an ECU tune as part of the APR+ program? I already have the Borla exhaust on the mod list but don't want to proceed without the possibility of an ECU tune. TIA
Thank you! I don't know for APR (perhaps Arin their marketing guy will spot this and can answer), but Black Forest should be releasing their tune quite soon hopefully :-)

Was at the BFI website recently and did not see any intake mods by them for the 1.4t. I’ll likely go for matching ECS intake and exhaust kit available now.
Does BFI do painted shift knobs? I’d love to have a habanero orange interior accent.
Anymore sound clips on the exhaust? Looking at purchasing but have no good idea of the sound?

I was wondering what company you'd recommend to work with in regards to modifying my 2012 Passat SE? I want to get into the 2.5 and really do some work to see what it could put out. It's a bit of an oddball, as it's a manual SE. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm shooting for 300-350 horsepower.

I have a 2016 Jetta Sport. I am looking for a badgeless grille. Unfortunately, all I can figure out is to either do a pre-facelift swap or make something fit. Is the Golf grille the same or am I just overlooking a company that makes this grille?

Love how this Jetta is looking. I've got a mk7 Golf R-line 1.4tsi with a BFI gear knob fitted to it. One thing I have been looking for is a short shifter for it but found it really difficult to come across one that would fit that gearbox for the 1.4tsi. Is this something you're planning on doing to the Jetta?
A Dieselgeeks sigma shifter kit should fit. 👍 Charles from humble mechanic does an install vid on an older golf but last I checked they make one for the Mk7 manuals.
@@bikesbeardsbeers94 cheers. I'll check it out. The GTi and 2.0tdi uses the same short shifter with the ng350 but different one for the ng250 on these.

Did u get the shift knob from forest industries directly? Because I've checked ecs tuning website and euro tuning. But it's just says it's for dsg cars only. How u get it to fit? It looks awesome I'd like one of those shift knobs

Great build, just a question: What oil do you put in it? Do you stick to a partcular brand o have ties with a sponsor? Im new to the channel, thx in advance.
I would 100% recommend staying with an approved oil (508.00). I personally work with LIQUI MOLY, having used their oils for years, and now they do sponsor my projects. The correct oil from LM for the Jetta 1.4T is the LIQUI MOLY TopTec 6200 0w20. :-)
Hey I have an se model and I’m trying to build it out. I have a question. I want to get the sel headlights for my car. Is there a way to get them? And also is instillation difficult for them?
You can get them new from VW via your local dealership, or online at ECS, FCP, etc, or a junkyard would the cheaper option if you can find them :-)

Correct, yes! It's a direct swap once you extend the wiring harness slightly :-)

Nice :-) The Jetta GLI comes with the 2.0T from the factory - I think I would do a 3.6 VR6 swap if I was going to do anything, but this project was about the Jetta S so we're having fun with the original engine to help other owners with parts :-)

The spoilers are available from ECS Tuning, in carbon fibre finish, and unpainted plastic. You would need to organise priming and paint it yourself. :-)

Jetta SEL. Am I able to get the Barla exhaust and diffusers as your car without much work?
Thank you! Borla makes 1.4T exhausts for both the original hidden tip bumpers, and for the SEL/R-Line bumpers that have the ECS rear valance fitted. Please let me know if you have any other questions about it :-)

I think it was just BFI flexing a bit, haha - almost all of the products are made in house at their North Carolina HQ so they can help with special projects. You could call them and politely ask if they'd do the same again perhaps..? :-)
What's needed to install those GT's and fool the airbag module? Also, can't tell if these can come with a heated seat option?
You'll need bases, swap the passenger seat occupancy over, resistors for the airbags, move the belt receptacles over, and yes, they are available from RECARO with the heated seat options - a simple 2 wire setup :-)

I have really been toying with the idea of trading in my 2018 Passat GT for a 2020 Jetta Rline its just a really good looking car with fuel economy and a manual. I think the first mod I would do is gas shocks for the hood, that flimsy rod it comes with is sad.
So seriously it's been 3 years why isn't there a link to buy the parts you used on this build. It's hard to find anything for the mk7s
can I get some recommendations for flush rims for the MK7 S , and what would be the specs for flushed wheels or tucked. I need help 😭
Honestly, it's going to depend a lot of how low you go, and what size tires you want to run etc. The Jetta rear seems be a bit narrower than the equivalent Golf for wheel fitment, but there's still a lot of good info out there.
