H/H match update: ... ~~~Today's action: Today the part of the "villainess" is played by Richard - his "Knee" sends our champion home (she wanted to see his "Bottom"). But as Gene is wont to say, she doesn't leave empty-handed: she won $100. *Today's audience match question: "________Harris"* (My thoughts: Samuel, ???, ???) Everyone else I can think of is too contemporary... The celebs: Richard (Richard), Fannie (Julie), Mary Ann (Phil) The choice: Richard (I would have gone with Julie.) The answers: Franco, Richard, Phil (And I bombed out today!) -- Oh, and kudos to Mary Ann for coming up with top answer in third position! The important thing is that our new champion gets a shot at the H/H match. I figure she'll choose Richard for a chance at $2,500... Yes. Entirely undaunted by the fact that Richard has matched only 2 of his past 11 attempts, she chooses him... This is now King Richard's 11th consecutive play, and he's been chosen 139 of the past 153 times. (Charles answered five of the remaining questions, Fannie took three, and Rosemary Forsyth, Nipsey Russell, Meg Bennett, Scoey Mitchell, Brett, and Trish Stewart got one each.) Stats: Richard has matched 82 of his 194 most recent attempts (42.3%), 65 of his last 151 attempts (43.0%), 45 of his last 101 attempts (44.6%), 21 of his last 54 attempts (38.9%), and 2 of his last 11 attempts (18.2%). His overall success rate is *41.7%* and this is his 672nd attempt so far. For the sake of comparison: Charles has matched 33 of his 68 attempts (48.5%), Fannie has matched 14 of her 29 attempts (48.3%), Brett has matched 29 of her 69 attempts (42.0%), Richard has matched 280 of his 671 attempts (41.7%), and Mary Ann has matched one of her five attempts (20%). Anson hasn't had a shot at a H/H question yet. *Today's H/H question: "Fox________"* (My first thought is the 1974 Sweet song "Fox on the Run," but I know Richard would never say that. He doesn't seem up on popular music at all. Fox hunt. That's the best boring, generic answer I can think of. Plus, it sounds a tad English, no?) The champion looks less than enthused by the question. Richard has an impish expression as he looks right and left. Just as he is filing his card, I thought of "Fox Trot," but it's too late to change my answer now. The champion has a different thought (she says it was her first thought): "Fox tail," she says. The audience doesn't like the answer. I don't think it's a likely match, either, but I've been wrong plenty of times before. Well, my ESP is working today. I thought of "Trot" just as Richard filed his answer, and that was exactly what he'd written! No H/H match today. ~~~Finally, here's our updated leader board showing the 11 celebs with at least 3 H/H matches, ranked by accuracy: (Note: An asterisk before a celebrity's name signifies that she has "retired" from the show and her H/H stats are now complete.) (Note: For tied scores, I consider the one with the greater number of matches to be higher; if the matches are equal, the celeb who first achieved that score goes on top.) Orson Bean - 100% (4 wins in 4 attempts). TIE: (*)Jo Anne Worley - 75% (3 wins in 4 attempts). TIE: Joyce Bulifant - 75% (3 wins in 4 attempts). Gary Burghoff - 71.4% (5 wins in 7 attempts). Betty - 50.0% (19 wins in 38 attempts). Charles - 48.5% (33 wins in 68 attempts). Fannie - 48.3% (14 wins in 29 attempts). Jo Ann Pflug - 44.4% (8 wins in 18 attempts). Brett - 42.0% (29 wins in 69 attempts). Richard - 41.7% (280 wins in 672 attempts). Bert Convy - 33.3% (5 wins in 15 attempts). *These stats include every head-to-head match from episode 1 through 1017, excluding the lost/missing/damaged episodes: 31, 32, 33, 311, 312, 313, 324, 325, 645, and 910. (As per MatchGameProductions, these episodes "are nowhere to be found and also aren't in the Goodson/Todman Library. Sadly, looks like they are lost forever!") -- Also, note that episode 849 was never produced. Additionally, these stats do, however, include the H/H results of missing episode 968 as those results were revealed in episode 969.
9:52 Anson reveals his answer as he sloppily moves his card to the slot and, what do you know, the contestant just happens to match him and nobody else except Fannie. Amazing.
We will have NO negative comments about Brett. It hurts Leesa's feelings and makes her cry. She spends her days scouring the comment section of the videos just to make sure nobody is being mean. You know Brett was "just having fun" 🤣🤣🤣🤣❄️
11:56 Another classic Dawson moment that proves why he should have stayed right where he was. In a better timeline, he would have taken over as the host of MG when Gene retired.
I am guessing Gene would have to be carried out feet first before he had retired from MG but I could be wrong. He wanted to do the 90's ver but was thought to be too old by that time.
@kristabrewer6736. You live in a different universe. Richard has given away far more than any other celebrity. The contestant wins money when they choose Richard. Far more money given away concentrate on that...
It was a very mean thing to say just to get a laugh. But that's Brett though, desperate for any attention regardless of who's feelings maybe affected by Her thoughtless remarks.
Huh? I think it was mostly women because it was a daytime show and back in the olden days a lot of the female panelists were homemakers.......it also seems the men were college students or retirees......noticed this on price is right as well.....when I was a kid.......most of their contestants were large college groups. Really it's not always a Blk Wht thing (unless its words on a page....then yeah its mostly black and white)
@@Getvictd744 Not always is right. But, go back from this episode and tell me the last one with two white, male contestants. And the last episode a white man competed against a black man, let alone won. You will be fascinated.
Great glasses Charles. Wonderful funny show. Then Richard❤😂🎉.
For once, I agree with Brett: He "Backed" into his office. I thought that was a perfectly cromulent answer.
Her yellow suit is PRETTY 🙂 (yellow 💛 & green 💚 are my 2 FAVORITE colors)!!
2:30 The way she said "Oh, nooo, noooo!"
LAMO! Gene! My man! That's the best part!
I would agree, a shy person would BACK into the office

There was one episode when it was two white males. I'm too lazy to look it up, but the champion won so many games, they had to use a male.
