Ty and Theresa I'll take the outback!!! Thank you for uploading this. I was out there so early that day without success. I'm happy I was able to run into you guys!!! This is TJ BTW. Now I know NORTH LOW AND SLOW!!!
FYI, there's a spot a little more further North that locals call the X where you can consistently landed the "Brackish Slam": Trout, Redfish and Largemouth Bass! Simpsons River is a great fishery in the winter.
I started off on a Revo 13. Added turbo fins and sailing run, amazing yak. I now have an Adventure Island to go with it, but before that I had only ever used a PA12 and I ended up with the Revo because of the speed.
WHAT! Love seeing you guys finally in a Revo!! Love mine for all the same reasons. Search Revo DIY Rocket Launcher. The second image may be something you're interested in. We use those to troll stripped bass in the Chesapeake but also make a good place to stick your rod when handling fish or rigging. I probably have pictures somewhere of my own set up very close to that.
I have the same mirage drive. You don't need to have the pedals even to switch gears you just need to pull the cables hard and it flips just fine. Keep on fishing and putting out amazing content. Love the vids!! #30milesout
Ty thanks for the videos; 1st time making a comment after following for 2+ yrs. Inshore and walking the beach are nice and different, but I am ready to see some BTB like the old days.
yeah man.. its a seasonal thing... we did it till the fish left... we will all be hitting the beach around here, when spring hits and the cobia start running.
Zoffinger, Happy New Year... the years are flying by. Please continue reviewing the Revolution for fishing, and also for snorkeling/freediving if you ever get in the water. I have a Cobra Tourer, also narrow and very little deck space... I can't wait to see your clever solutions to organizing your gear. Peddle on, amigo!
Sure wish I'd have known Ya'll were gonna be at Simpson launch, I live a few miles down the road and would have loved to have fished with you guys. The bay south of the bridge also offers some great fishing.
I can see where the Revo' speed advantage would be good for an experienced Yakker while the Outcast's stability would be better for someone newer to this type of fishing. Nice views on both
First, thanks for the review. Looks like a great boat. Would love to demo one. Second, I can tell that TJ has almost been run over by a power boat. (He and I both wear neon yellow shirts, so been there, done that.) :) Third, you have a great lady. Obviously you share a love of fishing. You chose wisely.
Thanks Ty. Great clip as always. In summary, it seems like speed, space, and perhaps stability are the major contrasts to the outback. Is the speed really a game changer? How much time do you really spend traversing sites? If you had to be stuck with only one yak, would u go revo?
depends on what u do most... the guys in the north east case birds alot. speed is a must... if u travel far speed is a must. if u stand alot and carry a ton of gear, outback is a must... I'm a minimalist.... i like to bring very little. works for me. to soon to know if it is the ultimate yak for me... ill know by spring!
Makes sense. I follow another UA-cam channel from a very gifted angler in the north east and he recently pulled the trigger on a revo 16 for exactly that reason. Definitely interested in your feedback on this topic as the year unfolds. Thanks -Mike
i dont do that in the summer in open water... only on the flats and in the winter up in the marsh... way to cold and to fresh for shark in this location right now...
That trailer your using. What brand, length and how many yaks can it haul? Also been thinking about picking up a wilderness radar with the helix drive to try out. Doubt anything will out do an Outback!
find some deeper bayous and canals etc.... bump gulp real slow on bottom till u find them. keep moving till u hit them. when u do they will be pilled up. here in pensacola they have pushed north of i-10. may keep that in mind as well...
would like to see a video on modifications on your revo - gear tracks -rod holders- fish finders - camera mounts -anchor trolley - i have a revo , i find it has very limited space for some of those mods . thanks
one thing was that i liked the idea of pedaling reverse to keep flat lines and drift baits in front of me but going fast in reverse pushes the rudder one way or the other causing you to turn. still love it though.

Glad you guys are enjoying the Revos - I think you made an awesome choice. And Theresa is right - you're going to dig it BTB.

Caught lots of fish from that spot! Fish that area around October with popping corks and gold spoons for redfish, it's crazy good fun.

yeah man.. its a seasonal thing... we did it till the fish left... we will all be hitting the beach around here, when spring hits and the cobia start running.
Peddles even to switch between forward and reverse. I used a dry silicone spray on mine as well which helped make it easier to make the switch.
ok... so some lube... cool thx..thought i was doing it wrong
Revos look great on the water. cant wait to see them off shore. TY &T DOING IY AGAIN!!!! WHAAAAT!!!
WHAT!!!!

I love my Revo. Good in wakes and quick.
The Revolution is quick. Love it.
Sure wish I'd have known Ya'll were gonna be at Simpson launch, I live a few miles down the road and would have loved to have fished with you guys. The bay south of the bridge also offers some great fishing.
i need to start posting up on FB where we will fish around here.
Hey Ty, try stinky pants stringers, different colors to choose from. 8' length is the best one for kayaks
I can see where the Revo' speed advantage would be good for an experienced Yakker while the Outcast's stability would be better for someone newer to this type of fishing. Nice views on both
Simpson river and Escambia bay. Good stuff.
Those revos are super fast, especially compared to the big ole PAs. Can't wait to see how they handle for you guys offshore. Keep up the good work!
yes sir... roger that. much more to come!

Yes make the pedals even I'm 12 and I have the new Marage and the 9'7 sport I caught 5 snook this afternoon
WHAT! awesome!
We caught a 10 foot alligator 100 yards from that kayak launch a year or so ago.

Good maiden voyage video !! I worry about "dragging" a fish behind the boat and attracting a shark !
i dont do that in the summer in open water... only on the flats and in the winter up in the marsh... way to cold and to fresh for shark in this location right now...
Supa fast! 11:20
lol... it is fast RIGHT! and that was in slow motion!
get a hold of Marty!! he'll fix that rod holder issue for you for sure
That trailer your using. What brand, length and how many yaks can it haul? Also been thinking about picking up a wilderness radar with the helix drive to try out. Doubt anything will out do an Outback!
the radar looks killer... my trailer trailX. holds 6 yaks. got mine at mariner-sails.com.
nice video as always waterproof socks lol just bought myself a pair sealskinz yesterday WHAT
great idea. gota go check them out
Hey ty I see that u have long stocking on can u please talk about them cause when I'm on my yak the sun burns me up they look very comfortable
those are prototypes. I'm working on with a company.... they will hit soon...ill keep y'all posted here and on 30mo Facebook
Hey Ty would this yak be perfect for the waters at Baffin Bay Tx or around C.C.?
sure... anywhere... just depends on how much u need to stand or not . or how much u need the speed or not
Ty, I'm located up in Panama City Beach and the ability to catch keeper specks and redfish is really tough. Any tips to increase the bite?
find some deeper bayous and canals etc.... bump gulp real slow on bottom till u find them. keep moving till u hit them. when u do they will be pilled up. here in pensacola they have pushed north of i-10. may keep that in mind as well...
30milesOut Thanks for the help brother!
anytime caleb
love watching your videos. what kind of waterproof stockings are you wearing? I am looking for something for my boyfriend and myself.
not water proof... sun protection. they are a prototype I'm working on with a company right now.... for water proof try sealskinz
Is the Revo less than the Outback in price? Gotta get you some rod holders on that thing soon.
i was surprised to learn that they are almost the exact same...
Legit yak! I need one of them!
How you like the revo 13 ??compare to the outback ??
Revo is faster but not near as versatile as compass and outback. No standing in revo. We stand a lot
Revo top kayak
Wish there was a middle sized hobie. One looks to large and the other looks to small especially in the rear cargo area
what are those long socks you have on?
prototype I'm working on with a company right now... u will see more on that soon!!!! look out!!!
30milesOut ill be looking!
Hey guys I'm in Navarre and would love to fish with you guys:)
What do you think revo 13 or hobie lynx?
like them both for different reasons!
yakmotly has a episode on this same spot
cool, yeah its close to both jack and i...
Teresa didn't seem to excited abut the revo lol
she's a creature of habit that one! lol... she loves the space she has in the outback. we will see how this unfolds as the year goes on.
Outback 4life
a great yak to have for life...
would like to see a video on modifications on your revo - gear tracks -rod holders- fish finders - camera mounts -anchor trolley - i have a revo , i find it has very limited space for some of those mods . thanks
i think i did one in the past... check it out
If you had to get just one witch one you will get,? I just got one, soonest I have home I'll be calling you to do a trip,WHAT!!
to early to say. only one trip in the revo. but yes.. hit me up at tyonthefly@yahoo.com for trip dates! WHAT!
pedals need to be even
one thing was that i liked the idea of pedaling reverse to keep flat lines and drift baits in front of me but going fast in reverse pushes the rudder one way or the other causing you to turn. still love it though.
ahhhhh ! thx
