I had music added at the beginning that was supposedly for commercial use - well it wasn't! So the audio is a little weird in the beginning because UA-cam had to remove it. Please, can't we just have a little jingle with our creating?!?! It was literally 30 seconds. Anyway, I hope you enjoy the video despite the recked audio.
Thank you! And I’m pretty sure you told me about the jewelry clamp… where has this been since I’ve been making jewelry!?! 🤯 thank you for the great advice! 🤗💚✨🧡
I totally get that frustration! That video I did a couple of weeks ago with the midnight blue spinel rondelles was like that. “Now, which way does this go?!?!?” Haha! 😆 💚✨🧡
Hi there! I do suggest tumbling first without the bead, but I did do a test run to see what would happen. Came out perfect after an hour of tumbling. Now I can’t speak for your bead etc, but it’s worth noting. Thanks for commenting! 🤗💚✨🧡
You’ll find the nylon hammer so useful for so many things! You could get away with not using it in this project by pressing down with your thumb or using some really large pliers to press the wraps down a bit. There’s always a way getting around not having a certain tool, but you will definitely get use out of a nylon hammer… a chasing hammer too to texture! 🤗💚✨🧡
Hi Carrie, these are very elegant, thank you for sharing your skill ❤❤ - I have been making jewellery for going on 11 years and wire has always been my nemesis 😂. A quick question about the ear wires. Does the tumbling stop or just delay tarnishing? Copper is my favourite wire and I'm always cautious ⚠️ because of people's allergies. Your and other creators in the comments thoughts on this would be super beneficial to my process as finding ear wires to match my creations is near impossible. Love your channel ❤❤ Looking forward to the hair accessories even though I have finally cut my long hair 😢, but it will be a nice product for the market to compliment the woven bead earrings I make.
Hi!! So nice to have you for some jewelry fun! As for tumbling and tarnishing… I don’t particularly use the tumbler to prevent tarnishing. Basically to smooth, shine, and strengthen a bit. For tarnishing, I’ve been using Protectaclear. If you’re using pure copper, you should be okay as far as allergies since copper is an essential mineral in our bodies. But there’s always someone I guess😁 If you don’t use Protectaclear, simply wearing the pieces often, if not everyday, and keeping clean with soap and water works well. The rings I wear in every video I never take off. So obviously they get a lot of wear but they stay clean from hand washing and they never tarnish or make my fingers green. But I’m in agreement with you, the more I work with and wear copper it is becoming my favorite metal. So lovely!!! I think some have a negative view because of tarnish, but with a few extra steps of maintenance it can be beautiful a long time! Happy creating! 🤗💚✨🧡
Your designs are lovely. I appreciate your craft and the time you take to share techniques. Thank you for your commitment to helping us learn to make beautiful pieces
I just had to rewatch because mine were just not coming out right....and i was wrapping above and not below....duh...thank goodness for being able to watch again and who knows...maybe again and thank you for sharing with us!!
I’m so glad that you were able to figure it out! Funny story, I had an order for a bracelet and I had to rewatch my own video to remember how to make it! Hahaha! Nothing wrong with rewatching the video! 😊💚✨🧡
Really pretty thank you. I was just telling someone about the melting of all the copper scraps I keep in a jar that are to small to use. I am going to make some zig zags, roll into balls, straight ones and other designs before I pile them and use my torch but I am going to take about 2 1/2 inches of 18 gauge and make an arch to put under the pile with the top of the arch hanging out and fire it all except that piece so that I have something to use to hang it on. Thank you again and stay safe...I do not like to make my earrings at the same time either.🤗
Wow! I’m just waiting for some warmer weather so I can go outside. But I’ve seen a robin and my daffodils are poking out of the ground so you know what that means!! So glad you enjoyed the video! 🤗💚✨🧡
Hello Carrie, Thank you so much for another fantastic tutorial. I really enjoy learning along with your videos. I have a question, and I apologize if you've been asked this many times before. I'm wondering about the copper ear wires. People who buy earrings are always asking me about what my ear wires are made of and if they are hypoallergenic. I currently am buying pre-made ear wires. People tell me not to make ear wires out of copper because it turns their ear holes greenish. Do you have this problem? If so, how have you solved it. Thank you so much for answering my question.
Good questions! No, I do not have this problem. Easy solution, just simply keep the earrings clean everyday with a little soap and water. I clean them when I brush my teeth and wash my face at night. Just the routine. Absolutely no problems with greening the skin. Not on my fingers with rings either. I never take my rings off and I never have greening because I keep them clean! If you get a little tarnish or discoloration on the ear wire you can take a little steel wool to clean. Hope a little of that helped! 🤗💚✨🧡
Great question… one I didn’t think about actually. I think you should still be ok. Yes, it’ll be a little stiffer, but I don’t think to the point where you can adjust it. I will tell you, I did a test run with one that had a pearl on it… perfectly fine. Even the 26g wire was intact. I can’t guarantee your pearl will be fine, but it was a nice surprising result! 🤗💚✨🧡
Just as an FYI, xuron has double flush cutters. They're a game changer. I don't cut my wire from the spool with any other cutters. It's oddly comforting to know that my wire, always has a flush cut end!!
So I hope you see this comment like real soon. I think somebody from your channel subscriber I am a subscriber myself. But one of your other subscribers I believe went on another channel and was very rude to the young girl who was making earrings in the similar design pattern that you did, in this video.. With that being said you're not the only one who came up with the design, many other people have done this design in the last 20 years probably even more. But anyway yeah so a subscriber of yours I believe was very rude to this young lady on her platform using a similar design, but only using a heart stone in the middle. And because of that this girl totally refused and rip that earring apart and is no longer going to watch UA-cam videos to get inspiration from other people. I went through UA-cam to find the most design that was talked about and yours is the most recent one. I would have contacted you directly to an email of some sort that I do not have therefore I am leaving you this message in the comment section. But anyway I'll wire rapper jewelries and bead weavers, we all get inspiration off of each other, and for one person to do the same design as another person that design does not belong to anybody in particular. So if somebody may have commented to you about a design and a young girl copying your design maybe you want to straighten that person out, what she did to that young girl was absolutely rude and totally uncalled for and she had no right to even do that...
I’m sorry that happened. I have no knowledge of that, unfortunately, but I know people can be extremely mean. I’ve had several mean comments. As for my inspiration, I learned about the Pipa knot and came up with the design strictly from that. I never saw earrings or jewelry with this design before. I saw the knot in macrame and simply tried to figure out how to make it with wire. I’m sure I’m not the first. But the Pipa knot has been around for thousands of years. And with wire weaving/wrapping you’re going to see repeating patterns since it’s an ancient art form. That still does not give anyone the right to tear another person down. I try to always be kind and encouraging. The world is so hard as it is. We’re all just trying to get by.
I see how that I researched “Pipa knot” that there are several tutorials! I honestly had no idea! I saw the knot related to macrame and loved it! Although mine came out to be more airy than the macrame version which I love. Well, it’s nice to be among the mix of great offerings on this design. I hope I teach it well! That’s the goal!

These are so cute, and I particularly like that there is no right/left. So hard to make mirror images for a pair of earrings.

These are gorgeous totally saved this for when i have the precision type pliers for this.
They are stunning! I didn’t know you could tumble with a pearl or any stone in place. I thought you had to tumble before you added your stone.

If using pearls and you tumble first before adding the pearl; would the “hook” in the back be too hardened to tuck it up? Beautiful design.
