Another thought.....Beginners buy an inexpensive viewfinder camera, 50mm lens, shoot Tri-X 400, no light meter. Master that and you can master the rest
fr, i've been shooting film since I started with a nikon F without any kind of light meter and that's a good way to learn how to take a photo knowing how it will come out
Exactly👏 I just got into film after only shooting digital. I’m constantly surprised by the amount of mediocre photos thrown out there. You wouldn’t think twice about posting them if they were taken on your phone.
Another tip I think is really important. Don't be afraid to edit your photos! Stuff like dodge and burn is great to use and even Ansel Adams made heavy use of the techniques.
unrelated but your home is beautiful, I especially like how the kitchen looks completely black and white versus the colorful and warm living room/office you're in
I bought my first camera a year ago (Canon AE-1, because the internet said, now I have a Nikon FM2 and some Nikon glass). A year later, I can now confidently shoot slides and I’m taking photos that I am actually proud of. I cannot agree more with everything said in this video.
Yo dude, while editing, I was sourcing some clips from other channels of videos, I did not have. I thought I had "tagged" everyone, but am realizing I missed your tags on your footage. My apologies. I can avoid using your video clips in the future, if you'd prefer. Really appreciate your videos and work.

Instructions unclear. Bought an RB67 and wear a backwards trucker hat everywhere now. Too poor to eat.

I’m glad someone finally said it. A boring scene or composition doesn’t suddenly get better because it’s captured on film.

Very true!

Thank you, appreciate that. It's been nice living on my own, and decorating how I seem fit
Great stuff! Nice to see a video summing up the slightly more intricate aspects of film photography.
Awesome to hear, Loris!!

Haha, thank you!
helpful, thank you!
Can you do videos on affordable light meters. I’m new to film and cameras in general.
My friend, pro 400h is discontinued in 35mm (for a year in a half now). Do you know something we don’t?
but. but . but . AesThETiC
don't let the IG shooters catch me
my footage?? lmao

Thanks Augusto!!
Great video! New sub here :)
Thanks Newgrain!
Sorry man, but half way through I just couldn't take the really distracting background lighting show. What a pity.
