Outstanding video Valerie!!!!👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻. My favorite part of the day is the time before sunrise, everything is quiet and peaceful and as the light comes through, the beautiful music of nature begins😀. Just can’t beat it!!!!
Love the way you've described that magical time before sunrise - spot on, I can imagine myself right there! 😊 Thanks for sharing your lovely escape and your comments Barry 🙏👍
The first joy of being a landscape photographer for me is being out in the elements, exploring, adventuring, and connecting with nature and myself. I always feel my mind has calmed my lungs have expanded, and my mood has improved after an outing. Photographing it is the icing on the cake, the cherry on top. Opening myself to being creative and capturing the beauty that I see in the world is a secondary reward. Thanks for sharing a beautifully shot video. There are so many dynamic landscapes you’ve explored on your channel this last year. You’ve been busy and productive! Well done.
A hundred percent echo your comments Shaun! Being enlivened and the sense of wonder will never fade. Hopefully we can all find more balance in our lives to find our zen. Thanks as always for your comments and feedback 🙏 I suspect you've been out there in your escape and looking forward to seeing your next adventure 🙂
What a lot of others have said!!! What’s mine? Where I was today definitely. In the bush, among the trees, by water, navigating rocks and tree roots on the mountain path. And finding myself surrounded by snow. Or whatever the experience the bush has for me. Great video Valerie. A great invitation for us all to think about our space and place.
So nice to hear about your lovely escape Denise 😊 I suspected it might involve trees and the bush, and now also snow! Finding your space to explore and "just be" is so important. Keep that balance and finding time to get out to your special places 👍🙏📸
Beautiful video Valerie! Tourism Australia needs to buy that from you! You've really shown off the biodiversity of your country in an amazing way! Gorgeous!
Thanks Brett, you're far too kind! I really appreciate your comments 🙏 There's so much beauty and diversity all around us - including your beautiful part of the world in Canada. We just need to get out there and really "see" and "feel" it, don't we? One of the many wonderful benefits of landscape photography. But I know you don't need convincing! 😄📸🇦🇺🇨🇦
Beautifully done, Valerie. You’ve encapsulated nature’s draw to perfection. Love the attention to detail in this - especially the audio, which I know would have required a lot of work.
Thanks Peter, I always appreciate your comments 🙏 Haha I'm glad that as a fellow creator, you can understand some of the audio challenges! I really wanted to bring the wonderful sounds of nature to viewers and immerse them in it - but as you know, drone footage doesn't come with sound and I'm definitely not a sound expert! But always fun learning 🙂👍
Really appreciate your comments Mark 🙏 So many wonderful benefits in just getting out there and being immersed in nature - hopefully we all can do more of it! 🙂📸
Many thanks Iz 🙏 Landscape photography means different things to different people, but hopefully for most, we share the same appreciation and feelings about the natural world around us. Let's keep spreading the message 😉📸
Many thanks for your comments Jane 🙏 I'm glad that I could take you there for a brief while and I hope that you get a chance to get out there to your special place 😊👍📸
Lovely video Valerie with so many amazing shots.👍 (I really need to try astro at some point) I'm so grateful that we can get to nature relatively easy, and not live in a mega city with millions of people and little nature. Photography offers me that escape and the satisfaction afterwards of further beautifying the images during editing. 🙂
You're right Pieter, we are fortunate to be able to access nature relatively easily. And yes, I understand what you mean by losing track of time editing photos afterwards too! This creative process can be quite therapeutic and I'm glad it offers you an escape 🙂 Appreciate your comments Pieter 🙏👍📸
@@markielinhart Hi Markie, I hope you've been well and appreciate you checking in 🙂🙏 I've unfortunately had to take a break as my day job has been incredibly demanding of my time and sapped me of my energy over the past few months. I hope to be back out there again soon. Take care and I hope you're getting out there more than I am! 👍📸
Lovely clip, Valerie. I thought it was very nicely put together, and enjoyed the sounds- in-real-time-and-slow-motion mix. I think you're absolutely right: you're capturing the world as it exists with every exposure. It would be wonderful if there was a repository of images by professionals such as yourself from each location, and we could see how the landscape has changed over time. It would be far more beneficial to society, I think than some of the grants given out in the name of "art". "what3words" would be great for giving the location. When I'm out with my camera, I tend to be intensely concerned with my shooting process, from casting about for a composition, to making the most of it. I usually don't recognize time for the duration, but we all have our failings.😉 As a writer though, I often escape to another world (of my creating), and I tap away at my keyboard - again, unaware of time passing - as if I was recording a memory before it faded even slightly. Three kilowords later, I'm mentally tired but emotionally refreshed.
Hi Mick, that's an interesting idea - cataloguing our photos of landscapes over time. I think there'll be a few challenges doing it on a mass scale, but as a personal long term project, that would be quite insightful and valuable. You've given me a great idea💡! In the meantime, documentaries are fantastic 😄 I've been hooked on the ABC's special current documentary series (every Tuesday night throughout June, on iView) covering Australian nature and environmental issues - it's fascinating and provides some great insight into the sad reality of our changing landscapes and environment. Couldn't agree with you more about the questionable benefit of "art" grants. It has really dawned on me lately that as a landscape, nature and wildlife photographer it's incumbent on me not just to appreciate and share photos of this beautiful country and doing it ethically, but to take positive action to raise awareness and get involved in important issues like environmental conservation and wildlife protection. Hopefully I can weave more of this messaging into my future videos...in a subtle, not die-hard tree hugger way 😄 Fantastic to hear about your escape through your writing 🙂 Understand completely what you mean by being left mentally exhausted, but emotionally refreshed. If your escapes are enriching you at a mental, emotional or spiritual level then they're exactly what you need! Always a pleasure reading your comments Mick, and have a wonderful week ahead 🙂👍📸
@@ValerieMisaPhotography my turn to thank _you_ for your kind words, Valerie! Yes, arranging a legacy of landscape and/or nature images would have challenges - it would need government support for sure and that would mean lots of other hurdles to overcome. I like your idea very much, , and if you should ever think I could help - maybe by casting an eye over a clip's script for you (I'm a good writinger😉) or if you wanted to bounce a thought off me, don't hesitate to get in touch.
Hi Valerie, hope you're well and that you'll have some spare time before Christmas for some shutter therapy as the days get longer. I was fortunate to camp last weekend with my son and get my first star trails. Was a bit of a mission as cars drove by lighting up the scene, in the end I got 50 minutes uninterrupted shots :) My first camera body was an Olympus em5 mkii (2015 model) which I bought 2nd hand "as new" in 2019. Recently got an em1 mkiii (2020 model) 2nd hand with only 500 shutter count for a good price, love it lots! Got it on a Sat morning and used it for fireworks shots that night!I see the XS20 may be a nice one for Fuji users, but your XH2 would be a step up. My photography has also taken a back seat for now, need to work on my side business and get it off the ground.. (including refurbishing 3D printer machines which has been ongoing for waaaay too long, as the weeks fly by.. All the best and keep well :)
Hi Pieter, great to hear from you and I hope you've been keeping well 😊. I've had quite an extended break from YT, but I've been able to get out for some much needed shutter therapy in recent times. I understand completely that it can be a challenge when you've got other things pre-occupying your time. But great to hear you're making time for non negotiables like camping with your son and photography 🙂 I've always been fascinated about how 3D printing works and I hope things are going well for you on the business front. It also sounds like your new Olympus has been a fantastic investment and is giving you a lot of joy with astro! Is it a micro 4/3? I suspect it'd be great for birding too. Hopefully you can get out this weekend and I'll be back soon! Take care 🙏🙂👍📸
Hi Valerie, glad to hear you're well and had some nice outings without the additional pressure of content creation 🙂 I find I get energy spurts for creative endeavours at different intervals, after everyday life has claimed its pound of flesh.. Capturing nice images does have a recharging effect.. Yes the Olympus system is micro 4/3, with its own pros and cons, but I made sure at the outset that the pros were overwhelmingly in my favour. The newest OM1 model (From OM System, previously called Olympus) has great subject detection and is very popular for birding photography, which probably isn't my main focus, but the bodies I have still have some other tricks that give a decent hit rate for birds. Speaking of which I may use my year ticket at a local koala sanctuary to see their raptor show again this weekend! (or let me go work on that machine😂) All the best, enjoy your weekend with your loved ones!
I think I'm very similar to you regarding having energy spurts for creatives endeavours 😄 Great that the OM1 is giving you more benefits and what you need for you astro - there's no perfect system and I think it's always a game of compromise. I have heard fantastic things and their bodies and lenses for birding. No doubt you'll keep getting out there and making beautiful memories and images 🙂 Take care Pieter and you'll probably hear from me again soon!
Hi Valerie, I actually recently upgraded to a 2nd hand em1 mkiii🙂 The OM1 was OM System's first release after JIP bought the Olympus camera division. The em1 ticked my boxes for "affordability", better video than my em5-mkii, and some cool computational features. The newer OM1's subject tracking is miles better though. I knew the future of the brand wasn't clear when I got into photography, but I was happy to aim for a ten year lifespan of my system, and now 3 years are already gone! Very happy with the lens selection that I've built within a reasonable budget. Whether OM System does any more R&D or just rehash old designs remains to be seen, hope they do, either way my kit is now closed for budgetary reasons. So I'll just make the most of what I have, and see what happens down the line in the industry😊
