I remember the novelty when these came out. Contemplated getting a CPO Minj maybe 14 years ago. Though I think I drive too many miles for it to be practical
Owned JC 2004 for 12 years. Never gave me issues. The leather is nicer than my Vetts. Only issue very few mech work on it & my German mech hated the car. I can fit 2 large Dobermans in the back car which was fun. Miss the car.
Hahaha "engine is very refined and quiet". They didn't say that about the Neon 2.0 SOHC ENGINE (the Mini engine is basically a scaled down Neon engine - - they're nearly identical) .....
They resolved those issues in the 2005-06 models. It was the lousy Midlands manual in the 2001-04 cars, and the CVT transmission was awful. (Anyone who bought/buys a MINI with an automatic doesn't understand the point of the car.)
@@honestreviewer3283 I bought a new 2003 Mini Cooper in 2003 and I still have it. Never had a problem with the Midland 5-speed and it shifts very smoothly. I have had a few other problem, the most expensive was replacing the central door lock control module. Also, I had to get the fuel pump replaced. Great car and still looks new......very glad I bought it....
My 2003 MINI has the 5-speed Midland manual and shifts smoothly and quietly, and so far no problems. A CVT in a MINI sounds like a way to steal the fum of driving a MINI........
This really is an absolute fun machine and a driving enthusiast's car.
You could absolutely live with this car.
NEVER BEEN A FAN OF A MINI COOPER...
I've been living with the same 2005 Cooper from new. Love it. ua-cam.com/video/lWAQU6VwJYE/v-deo.html
Well, if this isn't a glowing review, I don't know what is!

2:34 must be a very early prototype, it's quite different form production cars!

Fun car, early years had massive reliability issues
