OK, dropping some knowledge here. first, never use the bumper eyebolt to load the car on a flatbed, even if it will roll freely. as the car closes in on the winch, the angle of the cable gets more and more lateral. fortunately, with the transmission stuck in park, breaking the bolt won't result in a runaway. there is a device that can allow the car to roll. it is essentially a wheel spacer that allows the wheel to roll in either direction while the hub turns in the opposite direction. this allows the vehicle to be loaded and unloaded without dragging. it takes some effort, lifting a corner and taking the wheel off, installing the adapter on the hub and attaching the wheel on the adapter. the adapter costs about $300
===== Sharing my experience with the same error, I'll summarize my 5 months saga and the final fix ===== 1. Red Battery 'Visit Workshop" sign comes on, battery checkout fine, goes away 2. "" Drive to workshop without shifting gears" comes on a month later and the errors alternate between those 2 over 1 month 3. I change the secondary and main batteries with no fix 4. Take it to the shop, and after 2 months, a new transmission module and a new used transmission I get the car back 5. 2 days later " Drive to workshop without shifting gears" comes back on ... I notice the voltage fluctuate while driving between 12.1v-13.6v) 6. I change the voltage regulator at the back of the alternator (the terminals are badly burnt) and the voltage stabilizes at 13.6V while driving and THE TRANSMISSION ERROR DISAPPEARS I suspect it was the voltage regulator all along messing up the transmission computer ... I hope this save someone a lot of money and headache ..

Thank you for this. I have this problem right now. Car won’t go into Drive. It’s intermittent. I replaced both batteries, changed the ISM. Still same problem. Very annoying and very frustrating. I’m going to give this voltage regulator a try because it’s not an expensive part to replace… the car is otherwise in great shape but this one problem is causing me a lot of headache…
hi from mexico, i have a problem i got a ISM and install, now my ml500 tuned off in neutral i can move the selector to drive and the ml moves, but if i put it on P off and i turn on and moves the selector to D dont moves, i need help

thanks for the video, just got one question, did you tried to jumpstart the main battery or the auxiliary battery witch i believe is also 12 v. Im saying this because if the problem relays with the small aux battery, by jumpstart the main battery wouldnt solve the problem. thanks.

same thing happened to me. i had the battery unhooked, and forgot it was unhooked, went to turn it on, realized the battery was unhooked, hooked it back up with the key still in the ignition by accident.

Can you make a video on the radio, mine keeps turning on and then turning off there's no power to it, I removed it and plugged it back in and it worked but then it stopped working again in 20 minutes
No problem with the towing, hes using skates and the car gearbox is not suffering. You got lucky yove got a proffessional towing your car. Im towman in Spain and Know what im talking about.

I just replaced my aux battery and started the car up and getting the 1904 error on my scanner now. I cannot get it out of park. I am not sure if the key was in the ignition now or not but perhaps that is what caused it. Argh
@@EasySteps_Sidhu I just had the AUX Battery logo on the dash and various things came up as voltage too low which are related to the AUX Battery. Once I changed the battery over for the new one, all those low voltage codes and dash logo disappeared upon scanning however the ISM A80 DTC 1904, 1974, and 1978 came up. They were not there prior to the battery change.

EXACTLY GREEK ZEUS. ... MERCEDES are SHIT I HATE MINE. IN 2 YEARS it's been in the shop EIGHT TIMES. ..and this happened. .. I don't know why anyone would see this video before this happened. But I highly recommend NEVER buying MERCEDES. ....EVER!
i have a 2010 w212 e220 cdi..........i cant solve my issue, i drove car home all was great, parked it all was fine... had a few hours at home went to take grand daughter to the shop and car unlocked with 3 beeps of the horn..... car was in park with handbrake on, i put key in ignition, i got the basic dash mileage lit up[ on the dash display and nothing else , no use of dash computer menus, no radio, infact no elecs of any sort for the rest of the car inc lights radio windows , its locked in park ( i can manually get it in neutral if needed) theres no fault codes ive swapped battery...and also and the brake light switch clicks when the pedal is pressed.....ive swapped relays and checked the master fuses the car has not been jump started , the cars battery connectins have not been tampered with what could this possibly be
Did you ever find out what the issue was? My 2015 E class is at the dealer now. Same problem they are saying it’s the ignition column 2 grand to repair.

Can you push it if you disconnect the ISM and manually put it in N, my car is stuck at the end of my drive with no access.
No, when ISM is disconnected, it won't recognize your transmission so you won't be able to shift.
How much did it cost part and labor
It's been a long time but I do remember it was around $2K.

I have the same issue
My would not shift from 1st gear then when I parked my car it will not shift out of park. I recently changed out battery
I read somewhere else it could be your brakes, or the sensor that’s tied to your front brakes. 🤷🏾♀️

I took out the keyless and started the car with key and my gears changed. Put off the engine and started it again keyless and the gears shifted😅

Solved my issue by simply starting car and let aux battery recharge

Let's do the troubleshooting.
Take out the new battery and put the old one back and ran the scanner and see what codes you are getting?
