I swear there is no one who can sell a book to me like Reagan can - I pick up (and usually love) every single book she recommends. She's just sooo good at explaining books and making them sound interesting. I'm not really a fan of TBR and Wrap Up videos but I love hers!
My husband and I were talking today about planning a Harry Potter movie marathon for this Saturday! We love the movies so much that last month we decided to bring our TV outside and watch while having a bonfire. It was pretty epic!
As soon as a I saw that the court of wings and ruin had come on the screen I went online and bought lol only just read the first two books in the series now I'm glad this has come out!!!!!
I adored Caraval, and would love to know your thoughts on it. I am currently reading A Court of Wings and Ruin, and am 230 pages in. The suspense for that one killed me just about.
First of all, yes on the thin pages! I noticed it with the last ToG book, and my husband TOTALLY appreciated my 10 minute rant on the injustice of it all.
I'm reading ACOWAR right now! I'm so excited and nervous! I finished Caraval yesterday but I unfortunately didn't like it that much. But I hope you like it! It's gonna be a great reading month~
Pauline Ann Caraval (or the book with the contrasting opinions). I read it when it first came out and didn't like it either. do you have a review? you could also come to mine. I am very curious what you didn't like
Yes, it was Caraval where I had my unpopular opinion with. I'm not sure if it was because I was anticipating ACOWAR so much, but the story just didn't stick with me. I loved the premise and the tone of it, but everything else was not in my favor. I felt like the world was built shallowly and the magic system had no clear rules to it. I didn't feel attached to the main characters as much either and they didn't really stick out to me as original. Characters are usually a make or break part for me, so if don't really like them that much it usually makes me rate the book low. The romance I felt was also too rushed and bland to me. Finally, the plot twists were all over the place and felt like they were just put there randomly with no real substance. Of course, it's just my opinion and someone could see it completely differently. Maybe I'll give it another shot when the sequel comes out. I really was hoping to love this book because it seemed so unique and enchanting. Basically I loved the premise and setting, didn't like it's execution.
The same, although I started wondereing at points why I didn't give it one star. Then I remembered the only positive aspect beside the premise was that the writing swept me away several times. Plus: rating it one star doesn't feel like something I should do. The author still put in effort (although the plots weren't really planned out, from what I heard in an interview, which is probably the reason the worldbuilding an plot were all over the place until about 75% into the book)
I USED TO DO THAT ALL THE TIME WITH HARRY POTTER! I would always start with the third or fourth then continue on with the series. You're definitely the person I missed most when I took a break from BookTube, I'm so glad you're still around! Thank you for having the ability to sell books to me like no one else can :D
I actually like that they're doing thin pages. Yes, those thick ones make the book more satisfying because when you look at it it looks huge, but come to think of it, it's not necessary. Thinner pages equals less paper use and more trees for more future books !
I got the Dark Prophecy when it came out (Thanks mom!!!) and I can't say how much I love it so far. I swear by the end of this series, Riordan is going to have me sobbing over Apollo. In the first book, we got to see so much about the things he regretted, mainly about Daphne and Hyacinth and we get to see ever more of his pain and sorrow in Dark Prophecy. I love it soo much.
Hope you love Dark Prophecy as much as I did. So much nostalgia. There were cameos and Leo and Calypso are in it. Someone mentions Zoe Nightshade and how she looks similar to Cal and I almost burst into tears.
Congrats on graduating!!! And have fun reading, especially with ACOWAR! I did!! Always and Forever, Lara Jean and The Dark Prophecy are next on my list, too!
I am so excited to read ACOWAR but I have been reading Jenny Hans books since middle school (I'm in college now) and I'm so much more pumped for Forever and Always, Lara Jean!! ❤
I'm currently reading ACOWAR and I look forward to hearing what you think of it! I still need to read The Hidden Oracle! I can't wait for Lord of Shadows!
I just finished reading both ACOWAR and Always and Forever, Lara Jean. Both my most highly anticipated books this year and now I don't know what to do with my life. I won't spoil them for you but I think you will like them both. 👍👍
yupp may will be hopefully a good reading month. I have already finished a book (the dark prophecy) & I LOVED IT SOOO MUCH MORE THAN THE FIRST ONE AND NOW I AM DYING FOR THE THIRD ONE aka the burning maze. I am also going to read always and forever lara jean very soon and of course lady midnight (haha i might even reread a shadowhunter book after that one or i will read the copper gauntlet) And i would also really like to read the raven king, the song rising and crystal storm
When you said, 'I digress' you reminded me so much of a book I just finished by David Duchovny (from the X-Files...) Holy Cow: A Modern Day Dairytale. Fantastic book!!!! I have book 2 in the Lara Jean book! I must get to it so I can complete the whole series! Congrats on graduating this month! Enjoy Paris! Safe travels!!!
I thought the same thing about ACOWAR when I got my copy. I was almost disappointed at how short it seemed to be haha. I love your videos & I really trust your bookish (& style) opinions. Keep up the good work.
My TBR is all over the place! Currently re-reading Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. And reading Ruin and Rising for the first time. Then I'll be reading the next Trials of Apollo book! After that, I will be reading As You Wish and hopefully Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix! After that, who knows! Haha!
when im also reading all 3 books that was releases last may 2. ACOWAR (finished it last night) Always and Forever, Lara Jean (currently reading) The Dark Prophecy
I'm reading caraval this month too! also i completely forgot about the next TDA book so bless your soul for reminding me I'm so excited! Also congrats with finishing school in one piece, hope your summer and your move are stress free and full of reading!
I'm halfway through ACOWAR at this point and I've avoided most spoilers but I feel like the longer it takes for me to finish, the more at risk I become!
I am listening to ACOWAR at the moment 25 hours of audiobook I am hoping to have lots of listening time this weekend so I can stop avoiding it on here and on Goodreads! 3 hours done so far and I am hooked!
I picked up to all the boys I've loved before because you recomend it (I was like I love fantasy and don't usually read contemporary and Reagan does too so I'll give it a go) and I ended up loving them so much
I also don't like it when publishers change the quality of paper they use (felt like they are reducing the value too, but without reducing the price). I would've like it if they don't create any chunkier books at all (consistency). Though I understand that big books tend to detached on the glued spine if they are in standing position on shelves.
You are so lucky gurl! my dream was always to go to Paris! Hope you enjoy your trip! love yah! GREAT VIDEO BTW! and if all the books of SJMAAS was as thick as Lady Midnight i wouldnt complain!
Looks like we will be reading a lot of the same books this month! I have also managed to avoid spoilers for ACOWAR thus far.. which is good because my copy didn't arrive today as it was supposed to :( I also plan on reading The Dark Prophecy, Caraval and Lord of Shadows :)
Is the third A Court of Thorns and Roses going to be the end of that series?? I hate starting series without them being finished so I really want to know!!
from what I read this is the final book in this series, however there are supposed to be other books that take place in the same world with some of characters we've met in the world. Not sure that its 100% correct, but that is what I've read thus far.
Hannah McGuire pretty sure acowar is the conclusion to the current story line, but there will be more books coming out in the acotar world with different story lines (SO HYPED!)
This month is gonna be a woozy for me... I'm reading the shining and rereading the heroes of Olympus series. Afterwards, I want to start game of thrones
ACOWAR IS EVERYWHERE! I don't want to spoil my self so I am not looking at anything related to it. I am going to read wen dimple met rishi and My most anticipated the flame in the mist!
Hey Regan, I love your book reviews. Right now, I am reading/listening to American Gods by Neil Caiman. After I get done with that book in about 9 days, I am going to start reading the second book in that series , called the Anansi Boys. After that, I am hoping to start listening to either the Handmaid's Tale, or the Nightengale by Kristin Hannah. After that, I am going to dive back into and to finish the rest of the Rick Riordan books. A little bit later I am going to start reading the Lightbringer series by Brent Weeks. I know how you feel about books about Assassins, I have had a really hard time getting into them. I prefer books about characters who use magic, fairies, Gods, and demigods.
I really enjoyed the Magisterium series! I read all the ones that are currently out and I'm excited to see where the story goes! Obviously wanna read ACOWAR and The Dark Prophecy asap! Have yet to read Jenny Han's books or Caraval or Lady Midnight ( don't kill me pls 😂😬 )
I feel so horrible because I gg Caraval for my birthday (the end of March) and I haven't read it yet!! It's been in my shelf for 2 months and I NEED to pick it up!!
I swear there is no one who can sell a book to me like Reagan can - I pick up (and usually love) every single book she recommends. She's just sooo good at explaining books and making them sound interesting. I'm not really a fan of TBR and Wrap Up videos but I love hers!
same!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Girl congrats on Graduating!! YEEEAAAHHH!!!
Yay!!! I'm so glad you're liking The Iron Trial!
ACOWAR and Always and Forever Lara Jean are my most anticipated releases of this month, really hoping to get to them :)
congrats on graduating! Paris sounds amazing. Props on balancing school and reading for fun all this time! You deserve some R&R 😊
Regan: I like thick books and I cannot lie!
Me: You other brothers can't deny! 😂
I'm reading ACOWAR now and am loving it.
I wish there was a button to add all books Reagan suggests automatically to my Goodreads TBR. Seriously, can someone invent that? Please.
I also love thick books! Feels so good to see how long you've gotten. I could never read books with too thin pages.
Congratulations on finishing school! Can't wait to see your review on these!
First of all, yes on the thin pages! I noticed it with the last ToG book, and my husband TOTALLY appreciated my 10 minute rant on the injustice of it all.
REAGAN ? would you be willing to do a meet & great in Paris ??? 🙏🙏🙏🙏
Rika Lockwood Yeah that would be great I'd love to meet you !!
Rika Lockwood yess
OMG YES!!! I would love to meet you!!
That would be so cool!
I'm reading ACOWAR right now! I'm so excited and nervous! I finished Caraval yesterday but I unfortunately didn't like it that much. But I hope you like it! It's gonna be a great reading month~

Pauline Ann sort of the same here, but my feelings are stronger. I have a review up on my channel if you want to know the ins and outs of it.
I really wanted to like it. I was so disappointed and ended up rating the book 2 stars.
The same, although I started wondereing at points why I didn't give it one star. Then I remembered the only positive aspect beside the premise was that the writing swept me away several times.

I know how you feel, I finish uni on Monday and will immediately start reading all the books I have wanted to read.
