I've lost both my parents. My father passed away when I was younger, and I never thought to ask him questions, also. With my mother, I asked her so many questions, usually with a glass of wine over a jigsaw puzzle. She was such an open book, I found out things I probably didn't want to know. But her hand is still on my heart.

get a pint of mango sorbet and use that for ice the next time you make a marg
then get frozen strawberries and use them for ice when you make a marg
pop rocks on top and you get a Sizzlin Strawberry Marg. mega mango 1st.

Coco, I'll try to keep this short. One day, I think I was about twenty-four, and I had just seen Mommie Dearest maybe the week before on TV, and I'm in the car with my mom, and I say in passing "I guess Joan Crawford went broke before she died, huh?" and my mom said "Joan Crawford! No she never went broke believe me. She used to drive me crazy when I worked at Magnin's."
And then she told me this whole story about how she always hated it when Joan Crawford showed up at I. Magnin's in San Francisco in the '50s, because Joan Crawford would spend half the day in there buying out the dress department, and my poor mother would be running herself ragged waiting on Joan Crawford hand and foot. And I thought "and I'm just finding out about this NOW?!"
I don't think I've hosted a brunch in the past 35 years where I haven't told that story. To tell you the truth, the kids are probably getting kind of tired of it. But you know it's their legacy. One day they'll be thankful.

We had our 50th Reunion late in 2018 and I learned that many of us moved on to embrace diversity. I am proud to have graduated from that school, which includes the amazing Justice Sotomayor, and you too. Hugs. I do enjoy your videos!

My own mother passed away from cancer at the age of just 50. She was my best friend. One of the reasons I love your videos is because she had the very same spirit, shopping with her was always so hilarious and fun. She would make fun of everything. She would have loved your channel. I wish she was still here. Anyways thank you for this lovely video Miss Coco and for helping me through this rough time. Love never dies!!

Grief over losing my Mother seems to be an impossible journey for me...and I AM SOOOO EXHAUSTED from it! I LOVE looking at old photos like this....your quotes from that song made a LOT of sense....even though I am older now I can never picture my parents being "younger than me". I look at a picture when they were 25 and even through my 55 yr old eyes they are still older than me....it's really an odd time-shifting thing my brain does.....maybe I'm just insane....possible....

Coco, I love hearing you talk about growing up in the seventies, I start reminiscing about the seventies and remember my own life, you and I are around the same age. I baked in the sun with baby oil, but my group of friends put betadine in the baby oil as well. You know we never used sunscreen. Had to have that tropical glow. When I was very young and went to the beach all you could smell was coppertone suntan lotion, then in 1979, Hawaiian tropic oil or lotion, it's funny how smells project us back in time as well. The smell of a certain cologne or perfume. My Mother always wore Channel #5. Her favorite perfume. Thank you for the fond memories. Take care and be safe. Love you.

You're so blessed to still have your mom. My mom died 4 years ago (Dad died 40 years ago when I was 22). Over the years, Mom would share stories of their childhood (they grew up in the same small town), their courtship and early years together. She also shared family stories about my grandparents and great-grandparents. Stories were shared over coffee, over meals or just over the phone. Still find myself wanting to call her to share a moment.
Thanks for these wonderful videos. Hope you'll consider continuing the series after the COVID19 era.
    Stay safe, lovey.

Such a powerful message that we often take for granted until it’s too late. Although my parents are still alive, my youngest sister was suddenly taken from us in a car accident a couple of years ago. The pain still burns profoundly and I’m at least glad we had such a close relationship and our last memory was so happy. Sometimes that’s what got me through some very dark moments. Stay safe everyone ❤️
