    Congratulations for such dedication, the sound the engine produces is similar to a jet engine. Very good indeed and with good power.
    Greetings from Brazil,

    This is great,fantastic,prallplatte can you please tell me do you have steam return to the boiler or do you have a safety low level water cut off for the burner. I mean how do you know the boiler still has water inside and it wont melt.

  • @isaacharry493

    We're the steam comes out from the exhaust you can put a little tank to catch all the water and re use the water that would make it run for a long time

    • @MrKDB001
      @MrKDB001 6 років тому +4

      Isaac Harry that is called a condenser. It is always the last stage of the turbine on a saltwater steamship and often on a freshwater steamship. In freshwater they have the option of doing without it and just getting more out of the river of course they have to clean the boiler out every time. the biggest advantage of having a condenser stage is that the water you collect is already hot, just below boiling. This is saves fuel.

      It also inproves the power and efficiency of the Turbine by increasing the pressure and temperature drop

    Thanks for the demonstration. A turbine is more efficient as a piston. To be perfect you should close the circuit, so you dont loose steam/water.

      I wonder how big of a turbine I would need for usable bicycle power.

    • @prallplatte
      @prallplatte  10 років тому +2

      Mike Klegin the size of the turbine is less important. it depends on the pressure and volume that you can input.

    • @TheIndustrialphreak
      @TheIndustrialphreak 10 років тому +1

      i kinda figured that, trying to figure out how to build a legal and safe boiler for a bicycle. I was thinking about repurposing one of those hotts power washers on a scaled up motorcycle frame awhile ago.

    • @ttamage
      @ttamage 8 років тому

      Mike Klegin that would be awesome a steam turbine motorcycle.. it would probably be more efficient and faster with less weight than a car.

    • @battonfive
      @battonfive 10 років тому

      TheDave570 true, for the extra weight compared to extra energy required to over come the additional friction that additional weight adds, its a more than reasonable trade :-) weight always adds to traction to offset its demand for more power :-D makes me wonder if a second story or side tanks for additional water capacity would justify the means :-) Spit balling here, I don't have a clue about steam...

  • @GoingtoHecq

    I would think a condenser would be useful, possibly even beneficial to the power (slightly under perfect theoretical conditions).
    Anyways itvs not often that someone has a viable steam engine.

  • @NOBOX7
    @NOBOX7 11 років тому

    you need a good piston engine bro , turbines are way inefficient on any thing under 400 hp
    they suck up to much steam and don't unleash the expanding power

      Yeh , Turbinia was the first steam turbine-powered steamship.And that was built in 1894. Today steam turbines ,with the exception of nuclear is a very inefficient technology because the vast majority of the energy in the steam is not powered down the shaft .But dumped in the condenser . A diesel engine in this regard is far more thermal efficient

    • @maddox0110
      @maddox0110 10 років тому

      Ashley Maroc Oh, that is why most fossile fueled powerplants are wasting the energy with steam turbine technology?
      And of course, most nuclear powerplants operate at a lower temperature and pressure than their fossile fueled counterparts. Just to play it more safe.

    • @ashleymaroc4902
