The writing in season 1 is so phenominal. I really think the nuance of the hidden relationships people share, like Ema and Snow as mother and daughter, shining through in their modern lives even while they're unaware of it was a lot more interesting and compelling than some of the plot in later seasons.
I think if there had been more focus on who they were as their new selves in later seasons it would have worked better. There are still enough elements of that to hold up most arcs, but cracks start to appear around Season 4.

really good like someone once said ("it gets you through the week) this show is like church to me when i ever i miss church i have a bad week and everything and everyone (family) annoys me (my mom and sometimes my brother) everything my mom does annoys me, i try to stay as close to my daddy as possible to avoid the drama with my mom and brother

Snow was such a badass in season 2 i love her. She changed in season 4 but was back to being amazing in S5
