Great to have a quiet, peaceful hiker video without lots of mindless talking. Thanks! Beautiful scenes and peaceful background music. I almost felt like was with you! Thanks!
Wonderful video of a majestic piece of Gods creation. Words can’t describe the canyon in person. This is probably the next best thing so than you! September 2019 my significant other and I did this exact same route in the single day. We were both in our early 60’s and hike extensively in the White Mountains of NH. Talk about polar opposites 😆 Canyon is not technical (at least compared to the Whites) you just need to be VERY respectful of the heat and elevation and prepare accordingly. An honest reality check on your health and fitness if you intend to do this loop in a day. We plan to go back, stay at Phantom Ranch, hike up the north side and back down, stay another night at the ranch and back out Bright Angel. I’m a pseudo ultra runner and would like to do the single day R2R2R. I did see a few runners in you video. Thanks for sharing this 🙏
Thank you! Hiking down to the bottom of Grand Canyon is an amazing experience. This is actually my second time hiking to Phantom Ranch and back in one day. It definitely requires some training before attempting to do this hike.
What a beautiful video, quiet and majestic to capture the magnitude of the place. Brings back memories, as we did exactly your route back in 2022. Good to see Bright Angel trail without being exhausted :) subscribed and waiting for more park trails.
Awesome video. Relived the hike. We did this in a few weeks ago at the end of September. We were lucky enough to get a cancellation reservation at Phanom Ranch so it wasn't as crazy as the up and down you did. The heat is no joke - 107 on the canyon floor. Plenty of water and being in good shape was a must!
Re-watching this, and that may have been ultra running legend, Jim Walmsley passing you at 8:20 (the lead runner). He holds the record for both R2R and R2R2R, and there are a couple videos here on YT of him doing that run. He's passed me a couple times when I've been running R2R.
I grew up in kingman so ive seen the grand canyon more times than i can count, but it remains one of my favorite places. I hiked down to cedar ridge in eighth grade and that was my first and only trip inside, but the hook was set and i made up my mind i would go back and hike it all the way down. My wife and i are working hard to get in shape to attempt it next year.
The Grand Canyon is one of my favorite places to hike. Always check the weather/temperature at the bottom of the canyon before hiking down. Be Safe and have Fun!
Thank You! I did this hike at the end of May. The weather was very hot that week. Temperature reached 100 degrees at the bottom of the Canyon. I had to take several breaks to cool down from the extreme heat. Final time was 12 hours to complete.
Wow great channel subbed love the longer videos ❤so beautiful, I was there 20 years ago now thanks for the memories!!!
Thank You!
