How is This Place Still Open?: NYC’s Last Handmade Stamp Store - Наука та технологія
What store have you walked by recently and thought, "how is this place still in business?"
Trump International Hotel.
Not a NYer but I'd love to see one on a funky used book store, there must be some real gems
You should do army and navy bags! Henry is a legend :)
That was so awesome. Next time I am in New York, I will definitly visit his shop. We cannot allow true artisans to fade away to faceless corporate monotony.
That “Viagra Wheat” stamp is 100% for the popular restaurant Empanada Mama in NYC! Viagra is one of the empanada flavors and they come in either wheat or corn. They put them in wax bags and stamp the outside so you can till which ones are which! Love that they are supporting this local business!
The owner is so cool. Love how humble he talks about him outlasting the changing times. I hope he thrives.
Don't know why YT algorithm recommended me this but I'm glad it did. Excellent work!
Big box stores have killed artisanship. We NEED stores like this to keep the world interesting and dynamic.
The commercial real estate cartel is killing commercial diversity.
That's one major reason. Folks can't afford to pay the rising rent costs in these locations so they shut down.
Another reason is that the US is too car dependent so most folks tend to not walk as much. These small stores greatly depend on foot traffic from curious people just passing by for their business to thrive.
I am a rubber stamper and I found this video very interesting. Back in the 80’s and 90’s rubber stamping was a big part of the craft industry. There are still companies that sell lots of rubber stamps.
In months of You Tube viewing this is an OUTSTANDING video. Hope he successful for as long as he wants to do this.
please make more of these!!!
I received my order this week. I am over the moon! These stamps are spectacular. The details are so intricate, a secret. ❤
The ending 😂
Finally some actually good journalism
Man, am I so excited for this channel...all the best to you guys! Up up and away!
I think I went to this stamp store a few years ago when I was younger, with my grandfather and my little sister. I'll have to make an effort to visit again when I'm in NYC.
Would loooove to visit his store and buy stamps! 🥰
This is absolutely amazing and charming! I just shared it with an entire group of artists doing a stamp rally event so this is perfect g.
Great stuff! Really nice video!
I loved the last one and this one sheeesh! You folks are rockin
Thank you for making this.

Amazing video. Love this series
thanks boss man
Such a great story ! He is still learning too
Amazing video
He can expand to stationary aswell
Have a stationary store that sells stationary but also make a section on stamp making
Or maybe start conducting classes on stamp making as an activity in the city
So excited to see Macy being a youtuber now 🥰😎
He has great energy
What a cute series
"how else do you make money?"
"besides the fentanyl?"
amazing.
Casey is the MAN!! 🙆♂️🙆♂️🙆♂️
We see him cutting out the rubber but how does the rubber bit actually get shaped?
Are yon making other videos?
Refreshing to see a business that has a soul. I would rather give my business to somebody like that than some mindless corporation.
Do you recommend you get into the stamp business? Oh god, no. Lol. This content is "NY1" with a humorous twist.
Macy is a cutie patootiee 😘
Brazilian here: does he has any specific accent?
Irish
how can you do a video on casey's stamps and not include RATTY the Kitty!
Why did he mention drugs so specifically? How often does someone want stamps of drugs lol
apparently enough that he needs a sign! lots of dispensaries are popping up in NYC so I'm not too surprised
alot
More like stamps for the drug bags or packaging.
first
Nice
🤣
Great feature! Very well produced and presented. It's nice to see videos like this were the presenter honestly appreciates the place/subject of the piece. No snark or "look at this silly old fashioned place", but instead a kind and knowledgeable look into an often overlooked part of our world. Kudos and one to be proud of!
