    • @Xenunt1
      @Xenunt1 11 місяців тому +3

      @@Xenunt1 not always, a lot of the times the players are right but the supervisors won’t do anything or the players can’t explain it correctly since English is not their first language. But I’ve seen a few decisions being overruled too

    • @jarrettpeeples9745
      @jarrettpeeples9745 11 місяців тому +2

      It has nothing to do with a language barrier. The chair umpire is the ultimate authority on judgment calls made on the court. It doesn't matter if the player is "right." There is always going to be some human error involved with humans referees. It is the chair umpire's job to.make the best call they can using their professional judgment. It would make no sense to have a supervisor who was not even watching the match come on the court and try to make a line call or similar call based solely on what the two players tell them happened.

    • @britishtf2
      @britishtf2 Рік тому +3

      He was saying "5 more seconds". He was arguing that rather than having to game the system and ask for the physio or change his shoes to get more time to change his grip, the umpire should just give him 5 more seconds to change his grip (so 30 seconds total).

      @jarrettpeeples9745 11 місяців тому +2

      The supervisor can't reverse a ref's judgment call. They can only get involved if there is a question about the interpretation of the rules or something involving the grounds.
      The issue is that players continually force the supervisors to come out over judgment calls that they have no authority over.

    • @yibozhao1012
      @yibozhao1012 11 місяців тому

      I'm not 100% sure, but maybe due to the tension of the string. You see, during playing, tennis balls lose bit after bit pressure and therefore speed and length. At the same time strings lose tension and lower string tension will give you more ball speed and length by the same stroke. It's kinda balanced out, of course not exactly, but in a way. So in many cases it's not optimal to hit "old" balls with a fresh racket. This is also the reason why many players change to fresh racket when the new balls are brought in(fresh high tension string for new speedy balls). I believe there're players who bring fresh rackets with different string tensions with them. But many just don't. So it makes sense to keep using "older" racket in certain case.

      @@robertl426 They are professional athletes and can plan their intake accordingly. Along with that, they are allowed 1 bathroom break in a 3set match, they just have to be between sets. So him saying "i've been holding it for a set and a half" means he chose not to use the bathroom twice already (between set 1 and 2 and 2 and 3).

    I saw a lot over the last weeks on the ATP tour, you must have loads of material to make videos ;) :)
    Pls try to use the challengers as little as possible, it takes away from the overal quality imo

      You dont understan the essence of this channel. Many people have already seen the Tsitsipas clip but no the clip of the polish guy laughing like crazy. Thats the better of this channel

      They only detract if the quality on the video isn't good (which happens sometimes with the Challenger tournaments), but this one was perfect quality. Having Challenger footage is great, and it allows you to see what goes on at other levels, and is just as entertaining. The Challenger clip in this video was arguably the best section

    Something I've learned about learning and living in Poland... You cannot appropriately translate the beautiful swears coming from Drzewiecki.
    In english it's just fuck Shit fuck.
    But in Polish it's so much more diverse
