This place as well as St James are seriously spooky at night, used to be relieving ASM in the late 80's and doing overnights was always freaky, lots of strange noises and shadows in the tunnels & corridors
This station was amazing in the days of the Red Rattlers. When 2 Rattlers were side by side, the doors of each train were virtually opposite each other. We young lads would see who could jump from one train to the other, the most times before the trains moved off. If you got stuck on one train, you just waited at Central for your mates to turn up and went back to Museum to do it all again. Terribly dangerous 😳 but we did it anyway.
with the last train terminates at Redfern, presumably in platform 10 then turn around to platform 9, how do they shunt the train across? A short drive down and switch back?
What are the maximum frequencies on the city circle at the moment? I can only see scheduled services every 4-5 minutes, is there infrastructure limiting the line to less than 15tph?
Dig the history plaques history at museum, must have a coffee up stairs in kiosk one day, hope u can do some ghost walkes in tunnels Phil, it was noisy when rattlers use to go through them tunnels, aaah and that brake smell👍👍👍
Have you noticed they have changed the DVA announcements by redovnih the works “then” and also saying more stops rather than “then all stations to” like a few months i heard it at intercity stations and i thought it was Exclusive but then heard it at Macarthur and now i have noticed they have changed it at central and other suburban stations.
I don't like Museum station so much because of slow arriving/departing, I love the fast arriving/departing stations a lot (most on the Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra line) but really nice vlog this one 👌👍
I've been wondering if we could eventually get platform screen doors on all the city stations especially Wynyard, Town Hall, Central and Museum as well as the Airport line stations. It would make such a massive difference. Trains can arrive and depart faster, you can air condition the platforms, and crowding is less of an issue.
There is only one original sign, a 'Mark Foys' sign on the Bathurst Street end of the down platform. We updated the Conservation Management Plan in 2016 and all the old (1994) advertisement signs. I project managed all the signage upgrade in the station. It was a bit strange to me how much influence the Australian Museum has over Sydney Trains to get so many signs in the station

It would have been more eerie in the 80’s before the brighter lighting was fitted? :)
The old advertisements make this station different to other stations more interesting
I love it! Especially the Qantas one
Great phil, keep up the good work!
Thanks mate, will do! :)

Why does B23 have that yellow bumper?
Maybe it was in a crash and they used a spare part from an a set since they didnt have any b set spare parts
@@TrainsForNSWVlogs Possibly. Any idea on why A27 and A33 have a different font on one of the ends as well?
@@mangobaby_videos I meannit might have been a spare part from the prototype or A2 or A79

@@BigBlueMan118 Airport line stations are awesome in speed, the ones that come in and out of International, Domestic, Mascot & Green Square.
There’s a 2011 Movie called The tunnels and it’s about 3 People in the and 1 went missing and I think it’s based on a true story?
I don’t know about it being a true story but yes there are abandoned tunnels near St James :)

The Only Sydney station to still have the Old adverts (well the Name is Museum),
And you missed the Opportunity to show the Old adverts!
It’s a beautiful station, one of my favourites :)
