A320neo - an update of the classic

- Airbus A320neo is a development of the basic and well known A320 narrow-body airliners family. They are essentially a re-engine: NEO stands for New Engine Option.
Customers have a choice of CFM International LEAP-1A or Pratt & Whitney PW1000G engines.
As of 31 December 2017, 249 Airbus A320neo family aircraft were in service with more than 30 operators.

Dude, indigo Partners ordered 430 A320NEO. The entire expectations Airbus had for the NEO models was overpassed by just one buyer.
Samuel Ramphall true but the older planes will be sold back to airbus/to other companies after every 5 years. Which is why they made such a large order.
Not really. They already have 5 new ones in Jetsmart (they pretend to start expanding in all of South America with part of what they bought, as there are barely any low cost airlines in this part of the continent). Can't really say about the other airlines in the group but still, 430 aircraft is a huge purchase
That’s just factually incorrect that the expectation was 400. What the 400 number was was the number of aircraft needed to pay for the investment not the sales expectations
You missed a big factor..discounts on bulk order. Airlines who order in such large number get a HUGE discount on list price. Rumors are that Indigo probably got around 40% discount. Which if true, would come out to be they got 430 planes for the price of 350 planes.
Uff this comment didn't age well
I really like the black mask on the A321LR
EYELINER
If the A350 and A321LR have yeliners, then the 707 and earlier 747's have black eyebugs.
The A330 has it too
I believe its optional though
@@rayologyxm A330neo not CEO has it lol
I'm french but I understand something like 90% of what you say. You speak slowly and without a big accent so it's perfect for me to train my english and learn about aviation in the same time!
Thank you very much, keep going !
The funniest is that the guy is Russian
Gotta say dude, I don't recall how I found your videos the first time but I come back for each one. Well done, well researched, and unique humour, which I like. :) Keep up the awesome work!
The family A320 NEO is amazing. 🤩
Olá do BRASIL.🇧🇷
I actually like the A320 neo better then the new Boeing 737 max.
Same
It looks cuter
I personally hate the max.
I am a Boeing fan but the A320 neo and A350 hit it out of the park
@@joshuajoe1419 whoa. You are a rare type. A fanboy that can like some aspects of the opponent. Keep it that way😁😗
One more point - As Airbus have taken over C series, the CS100 will be better option than to manufacture A318
If i sub you. Can you sub me back?
A stretched version of the former C series will also be a better alternative than the 737 Max
Yes, i believe they are done with producing the 318.
I travelled In IndiGo Airbus A320 NEO from Hyderabad - Bhubaneswar...looked and felt amazing!! :)
Not sure which flight it was Pune-Hyderabad
i travelled on a neo as well from trivandrum - chennai. I was also amazing
Is my favorite airplane ever, looks so good for me
Haven't flown on the 737 max but the a320 neo is the smoothest and quietest jet I have ever flown on.
The most successful and fastest selling plane right now is A320neo. I love it! Nice video
Andrew Anane I hate it.
You are wrong lol, it’s not the fastest selling. 787 is killing it rn
In terms of the most successful, pretty sure the 737 holds that record
Fuck y'all Airbus is better than Boeing!
Did you know that Indigo ordered 430 neos?
A320neo: **comes out**
IndiGo: *ILL TAKE ALL YOUR STOCC*
I'm a simple man. I see IndiGo, I hit like ❤️
My name is Indigo lol

Perfect planes from a perfect company🤗👍✈🇱🇻
Airbus Engineers : "lets make this landing gear bit taller, so in next engine update bigger then before we can put and fit in this plane"
BOEING : "lol"
Bim Bims, The 737 family has always stood out due to how easy it is to load. The cargo doors are so close to the ground that a man can almost throw a bag into the plane. The concept makes sense for service too. Sadly, the engines simoly grew too large for Boeing's low belly concept to be safe without a major redesign...
@@theglitch312 There is also the issue with the 737 not being able to take modern LD3 containers, making it less flexible for cargo when lined up with the A320 competition. While not related directly to the low-belly design, it does indicate the more flexible nature of the more modern aircraft. As for "throwing bags", yeah, Jetstar Melbourne throw, kick, punch and otherwise assault bags, whatever aircraft they are loading!
Love the family Airbus more new 321neo LR is my favorite plane. Thank you so much for your video.
I just 💗 the A320 and have been flying on it time after time on Indigo 😂
A flawless masterpiece. The exact opposite of a 737 Max.
Yay!!! Please, I can't say enough how much I love your channel! PLEASE CONTINUE TO MAKE CONTENT FOREVER!!!
Went on the Neo with easyjet yesterday aposolutely fantastic so quiet!
Very nice video. I helped design the nacelle systems. It's a beautiful aircraft.
I love those black mask on the planes!
They look so awesome!
Great video, thank you!
NEO - New Engine Option
The NEO program costs only €1 billion and Airbus return of investment ROI after selling 10 units. Each NEO costs €101 million. Imagine how much Airbus has made profit by now.
The A320neo family is the best aircraft family in the world, I would say even better & more reliable than wide bodied B787 Cheapliner as well. Indian airlines have placed order for 900 aircrafts last year, most with Airbus & if you fly in India, more than 70% chances that you are on Airbus. The PW engine issues is taking some toll on A320neo world's largest airline customer which is from India - Indigo airlines. Though PW is compensating & helping, issues still remain with Indigo & GoAir. It's good to see that other Indian airlines like Air India & Vistara have opted for CFM Leap engines for their neos. Also, significant number of A320neo orders maybe changed to A321neo due to heavy traffic & less airport slots in India. Air Asia has already done that & some more airlines are contemplating it. The A321neo frame, landing gear, brakes etc. is also different, not just engine so it's far more upgraded version compared to A320neo.
And do check the Airspace interiors on new Airbus A320neo family coming up -

Always good commenting Skyships🙂
Goodbye A318 you were a succesful member on the company
I've only ever flown the planes in fsx but if pmdg and aerosoft are at all accurate, what really impresses me about the 320s is just how good their cockpits are. The aerosoft 320 just seems so much cleaner than the pmdg 737 and the startup procedure is just so easy. Push a button and the engine starts whereas in the 737 you have to spool the engine, wait for the compression then start the fuel. Just feels more inefficient and complicated for no reason.
Of course, in my opinion, the best cockpit is the feel there E-Jets. Again it comes down to simulation accuracy but like I think 7 or so switches and the plane is ready to go from cold and dark.
Just some sim observations. But if the sim guys are at all good at their jobs, then the Airbus is definitely the best to fly and I generally like the Boeings more from an aesthetic view point.
My favorite aircraft is the A320NEO! It just looks soo awsome with those engines ans sharlets.
Brilliant! Perfect aircraft, and it’s beautiful! Great video, liked!
THIS WAS EXCELLENT AND WELL EXPLAINED VIDEO OF THE A320neo. AIRBUS AND THE WORLD SHARING TECHNOLOGY FOR BETTER! THANKS.
really well presented and crisp story. loved the insights and the way you researched and touched up on subtle and unknown (little known) nuggets.
Great Video, Thanks so Much !
Well researched and well explained videos man !!! Hats off to you :))
I love how international these products are... Very global in thinking.
Thanks sky for another interesting video.love your videos .
Now, in July 2022, the A321NEO has so far outsold its A320NEO sistership!
You should talk about the A320 NEO SHARP! We already have 4 in Avianca Brasil!
As an Australian I would like to correct you, the official name of Australia is STRAYA MATE
I've heard speculation of an A322 that is an even bigger stretch of the A320 family. Who knows if we'll ever see it though...
Cool...i enjoyed watching
Thank you for your content, but it would be very interesting if you could compare the aircraft and compare their advantages and disadvantages
Nice video.
the neo is missing the newest feature boeing has to offer; the 90 degree nosedive corkscrew mode...
lol
Dude.......
Nice.
Great vid as always Sky!!! 😎👍👍
Your videos are fantastic
That was awesome 👍🏼
Great video as usual
Airbus forever
The AIRBUS A320NEO has a Business class and economy class, and not just south African airways owns it.
737Max is the last gasp Frankenstein's monster of a 1960s airframe with nowhere left to go. Time for a clean sheet replacement from Boeing.
A320NEO is a logical upgrade of an airframe with lots of potential from the get go. Gear tall enough, was already fundamentally digital etc.
You’re a bit off it was actually more of a reaction to the C series and Boeing pitching a new 737 replacement. The Chinese had very little to do with it since everyone knew this decades off for that to be a serious challenge
It’s a great update for the aircraft, but I prefer the original winglet design, they are distinctly airbus.
That is cool
This video is out of date already because now Airbus has the A321neoXLR Xtra Long Range flys even more further
The A318 is now, so-to-speak, the A220 (better known as the C-Series)
Aside from delivery slot priority, why should new operators invest in the 737 family when the A320neo/A321LR (and proposed A321XLR) combo is clearly superior in terms of passenger comfort (wider cabin) and range?
Poor Boeing. Hang in there.
I sat on an IndiGo A320neo
Thumbnail looks too good
Boeing 747 and a329neo best planes
that's a middle child thing
Wendover Productions: *write that down WRITE THAT DOWN*
good, finally the regulatory body in India (DGCA) grounds all A320 Neos in India.. till the situation changes for the better .. aka how EASA and P&W sit up and do something effective.
Airbus has anyway stopped shipments of any planes with PW1100.
Is there much overlap between the 737 Max series and the A319/320/321 series? If there is, I think the "new" 737 is going to get owned by the Airbus models. if the 737 slots in below, then not too much of a problem for Boeing.
looks good, dont hide anything now
Please do a Boeing marathon please!!!Great video though!!
David 747-400 no
Andrew Anane YES. Don't worry I still like Airbus :-)
David 747-400 lol
Andrew Anane I'm sorry but do you have some beef with Boeing or something lol
he did one on his main channel, it's russian though
MAX is dead
😂 I always thought NEO was refereeing to something related to NEW airplane model not New Engine Option. 😮
What is the Max and Crusing Altitude of A320 NEO family? Wikipedia says, it's 39100 Feet to 39800 Feet which seems lower when compared to Boeing 737 Max family which has a Max Altitude of 41000 Feet and Cruise at 40000 Feet. My question is, is the Wikipedia saying the truth? What is the actual altitude for A320 NEO family?
Why is it that Airbus has enlarge powerful engine, but they never talk about stalling, Why?
Because the landing gear is higher than that of the 737 so no need to change structure.
Yeah the 737 is lower and they had to place the engine up and forward Wich compromised the aerodynamic disign of the plane and made it very prone to stalling so they made the now infamous MCAS system which has no shut off button and relied on only one sensor.
@@kinai01 Suggest you find out the REAL reason for the MCAS !!! And it is NOT to correct a "compromised aerodynamics" of the Max !!! Man where do you dumb asses get this shit ??? There are several video discussion here on You Tube explained by 737 pilots as to what it does !!!! You do realize the very first A329 scarebus crashed at the Paris airshow because of a computer problem don't you ??? If not do the research it too is covered here on You Tube !!!
@@wilburfinnigan2142 Boohoo...booohoooo.booooohooooo....cry a little more bitch. Your boeing fanboy tears are soooo yummy.
Ok, soy you say the A321 NEO costs 129 million dollars; So what's the price for the A321 NEO and the A319 NEO?
4:39 That's not an A320 NEO. That's what I believe is a 777.
Isn't the geared Pratt a lot more innovative than the CFM?
It's a lot nastier to repair too (planetary gears and such) and more rpm unstable...-ish (fewer turbine stages). Trust me, I'm LMA at Iberia and those CFM ones are about to arrive in 3 months. Seems bigger and I think it fits better with the style though.
Our airline have a A320 NEO
(No engine option)
Yeah
Who like airbus...?
Boeing likes em
Bigger engines; new software?
A380-800,A330-900neo, counter intelligence over IMAX Commercial.
Is it weird that I thought in the thumbnail it’s was a 737
+a320neo
.
1:35 princess Diana??
EasyJet has the A319
Actually I think easy jet has all three. Not all the Neos though
A321XLR make video about that
Still screams 1987/88 - that 30 year old wing needs to go. I'm surprised each A320 Airbus sells doesn't come with the complementary Yamaha DX7 and Erasure cassette. Maybe even some hair spray while they're at it.
Time to go to the 737 video and make fun of the '60s spoiler mixer...
lmfao indigo is like the emirates for a320neo with more than 600 orders and more than 100 current a320neos and a321neo mixed
Nice video bro
thanks for the video. to answer some of the comments -- the 737 is STILL the number one selling airliner of all time -- www.businessinsider.com/boeing-737-history-photos-2018-3
that's because the 737 predates the A320 by 2 decades. but at the rate the A320 is selling it may surpass the 737 in a few years.
with the Lion Air 737-Max accident it may further put a dent on 737 sales.
what I am hoping is a new revolutionary narrow body coming from both airbus and boeing.
I think buyers still shy away from the russian and chinese narrow body planes as the quality of those haven't been thoroughly tested yet vs the decades testing of 737 and 320 designs.
Bombardier/DeHavilland -- that's where I hope the future will rise as I'm partial to DeHavilland planes :)
Is this Virgin America A321 at 6:51 registered in Germany o.o?!
Thats a temporary delivery registration for the first few flights after delivery in Hamburg. Airbus planes first rolled out in France also always carry french registration. As you can tell by the US flag right beside it, it is going to be finally registered in the United States.
What will be the name of this plane (a320neo) when it is upgraded? A320-300?
FloatingGoat Didn't understand your question. Do you mean the name of the upgraded A320ceo? That is when airlines add the optional sharklets on the old one?
I don't think the name would change. A320neo is a newer plane.
I think you want this. A320-251N and A320-271N. These are the full names. 🙂
