Splatoon does have an incredible amount of detail put into the lore and world-building, so much at every level of it really, even that which would usually go completely unnoticed by most players. It's very impressive and just really makes it feel unique and stand out, considering the actual gameplay is essentially another a shooter game lol. A very fun franchise.
