  • In this video I will be going over tips on how I created this glass bulb. Also by using this glass bulb I’m able to help demonstrate in a speed painting how I create both these surfaces just by looking at the colors in my reference photo.
Reference photo is of my own and offered to my Patreons sapphire tier and higher.
    Colored pencils used are by
    Caran D’Ache Luminance
    Faber Castell Polychromos

What’s the name of that blending liquid and applicator you used on bulb? All mess is what it sounds like. Got a link please?

Yes, it’s OMS odorless less mineral by Gamsol here is the link for the OMS but you can find it at also on Amazon or other art stores. The applicator is just a small filbert brush I picked up at hobby lobby.

Ahh thank you! I use Gamsol too. I apply it using three different size pointed cotton swabs. I buy them in packages of 2,000 that have 20 smaller packages of 100 pcs.
I’ll provide the Amazon Links for those interested.
One size is like a normal cotton swab, however these aren’t really for ears, they’re a harder packing of cotton that makes them perfect for all kinds of jobs like burnishing and blending.
I use the medium pointed one the most because it can get tight areas and the swab area is longer so I can lay it flat for more of a contact rub. I love it!
The really pointed ones are basically a stick with a point tightly bounded with cotton. I use these for. Areas like flower stems, eye balls etc. intricate detail work. Thank you for your reply.
Now if you can give me some advice on how to get more sleep without drugs that’d be great. (Kidding)
