Like Birdman said in the video, sociology (the study social life, change, and causes & consequences of human behavior) isn't really science, because it's about the immaterial aspects; thoughts, feelings, expectations, etc. Whereas science is about observable, provable, material matters.
To say being trans is equally as ridiculous as flat earth conspiracy is just plain wrong. One is a provable falsehood, the other is just a facet of socialization/social consideration.

The "flat earth" logic being a thing since a good thousands of years ago and especially when majority of people thought the sun and moon rotate around the Earth not the other way around.
It's not a new thing but one that needs to be gone as it is an illogical idea with no real scientific data supporting it.
Comes from different reasons. Religious ideology, Lack of education, Distrust of the government. And a good chunk of those comes down to parents teaching their kids that idea

The guy you responded to highlights a huge problem in the world: people don't know what science even is! He thinks science is a set of facts you either subscribe to or don't, when science is actually a process of testing conclusions. When people say "I don't believe in science" they are saying "I don't care about consistency, applicability, or proof."
Case in point: he made a video criticizing a video he did not watch, then hypocritically called out the Birdman for insulting others while asking him to insult others. I don't think this is a coincidence.

Another pattern I've seen is how they make observations/ask questions, then jump to conclusions which are often incorrect. Meanwhile, the scientific method has multiple steps in between, such as experimenting and retesting. Again, they don't know what science is or why it matters.
I think watching Birdman tear someone's argument apart has become one of my favorite series.

I used to quote cinemasins all the time, and work to dig out plot holes and prove to people that the movies they liked, they shouldn’t like.
And damn, after seeing the bullshit from an outsider perspective, I just stopped, and let people just enjoy the movies, and realized that, fuck, I was too busy looking for problems with a movie, I was missing the parts that stopped there from being problems.

The Flat Earth conspiracy is really impossible, since not only does every Space Program on Earth needs to work together. This means countries like Iran, Israel, India, Pakistan, Japan, China, Russia, Ukraine, and the US all has to work together, which probably will be a bit of an issue due to some slight disagreements some of those countries have with each other.
