The air shields need a boost effect in zero G to launch infantry several thousand meters to board slow moving capital ships. With EVA packs to steer/slow down it would be a high skill technique that could go horribly wrong or hilarious right:-)
Reminds me of the dropship for Section 8 from the game of the same name. This deserves a bounty hunting variant replacing Jumpseats with dedicated prisoner pods. Another variant would be a long range stealth hauler variant with living quarters for a crew of 2.

I've outfitted mine with S4 Rhino laser repeaters and S3 Quarreler laser cannons. They have almost exactly the same range and can put out a lot of damage without overheating. Maybe not a very stealthy loadout, but it doesn't need to be in the alpha. I very much like the idea of using it to infiltrate cap ships though. I could see it working against targets who are just sitting around, not expecting trouble. Big ships have a lot of space to watch for threats, and if the stealth can beat radar/scanner detection, you could put a lot of your own people on board without raising the alarm.
I imagine the Prowler being the Dropship for a group of Hitmen from a semi-legal business Org. Their appearance and arrival could be simply used to intimidate all kinds of people. Like, if you wanted to terrorize a small colony outside of normal lawenforcements reach. Or to establish a "business" contract with a mining colony, outpost.
I love this frame, but I have no use for a troop exclusive dropship. It'd be cool if the troop spaces could be reconfigured in game. It's capabilities would make it great for smuggling or data running.
Something like this also screams battle chariot for a HVT kill/capture team. Swap one of the jumpseats for a cell module, and you've got a pretty solid tool for kidnapping, it looks like. On the topic of the air shields having their own power plant, you could go almost completely dark and wait in an ambush scenario. Maybe with a Mantis or at the end of a jump path with an EMP ship. Shut the target down, stealth in with the prowler, and board.
Call it over indulgence, but I just got it for my get around taxi because it looks so cool, not many ships offer top tier stealth with armour and firepower to boot. Nice option to get around places with a minimal signature strength.
Nice, it is good to see non human tech and see what it brings to the universe! Just because its not human doesn't make it crap! Its interesting that an avian species, would build their assault vessels to be like their species. Also the artistry of the prowler is so beautiful.

Oh, Im a dummy. I thought the the 'seat' or player holding bracket thingys actually carried the player out the port directly in front if it and brough them close to the ground, but after looking a little closer, I see they are just there to secure the player while underway. Oops.

The prowler is nice looking but to expensive. And there is no need for a drop ship right now. I really wish they would build these airshields in other existing ships. Little bit stupid that we have airshields in the prowler and in stations but not in other ships.
Overpowered until sales are over, then next patch a nerf. Its more agile than a sabre. I mean come on. These guys are def not thinking about balance atm. But those air shields need to be on both the hanger and cargo bay and airlocks of the 890. That is so efficient.
