    I'm here to learn a few things and I'm actually learning a lot this is a great channel. thank you!
    Like I said I'm not claiming to know what I am talking about, I do have to ask Who so deep?
    I mean it seems way too deep as it doesn't need to be as such, the way the mold board is struggling to fold over.
    I do know it's wet but that shouldn't be the issue here and like you said the moldboard is too big for the tractor and this is definitely evident.

    I bought a brand new bx 1880 about 6 months ago i love it but the attachments are expensive .. So far I hace the 54" belly mower .. Front loader with a cutting-edge and a ballast box .. I did get some kagnetic lights and modified the ballast box to accept a reese hitch and i bought a rear blade and added snow skids to it .. So far it has been great .. I also put a quick hitch on it and am looking for a york rake now .. Everuthing adds up so damn fast.

      Attachments for any tractor are expensive, BX has nothing to do with attachment cost LOL. I had ordered my BX2680 with the 60" mid mount mower but never received it so in the process of trying to come up with another $2500 to purchase a mower from a different dealership. Love the tractor, but my dealer and salesman need a swift kick in the ass for their piss poor communication and management of customer accounts.
      I have the SSQA loader, 50" RTR0550 roto-tiller, box blade, 5 foot grading blade, pallet forks, quick hitch, sub-soiler (converted to a single bottom plow blade that I use as a ditcher), and a 3 point receiver hitch for moving trailers around.
      Future attachments/implements: 4' rotary cutter, 3 or 4 inch chipper, and possibly a grapple at some point.
      Asked my salesman for a refund on the mid mount mower, said he'd get me a check, that was 3 days ago, so who knows, I highly doubt I'll see either at this point, and tired of waiting on it, its been 9 months, way too long of a wait for a mower.

    You are very creative and engineering savvy. How hard would it be to build a middle buster that has the wire wings used for digging potatoes? The Italians build them to go behind the two wheeled walk behind tractors. It allows allot of dirt to fall of the potatoes while digging.

    I run a 14" plow so it's cutting behind the rear tire and I stay out of the furrow. The axle clearance on the BX is too low to run in the furrow. Staying on top and driving on the edge of the cut allows a deep and wider cut without bottoming out tractor.

  • @TractorTimewithTim

    Seems that one could design a plow which will actually shift to the left far enough so that it doesn't have to be pulled sideways, or with the tractor's 3 point hitch offset.
    As other commenters have mentioned, the coulter needs to be 1/2" or so to the left of the plow bottom to leave a clean furrow.
    This plow just looks to be built for a wider tractor than a subcompact.
    Are you guys planning to build a plow which will better fit a subcompact?

  • @OldSoulMillennial

    Something Ive noticed is the plow can shift 3 inches, but the sod cutting disk cannot. If you look at the sod being turned over, there are two lines of sod being turned. One has a nice clean edge from where the disk is cutting, and a second torn up line from where the plow is literally ripping through the sod. If you engineer a way to make that cutting disk adjustable laterally, you could improve the efficiency and have cleaner turnover.

    That plow works on that tractor well enough but still needs some work to make it really work right. It is overshooting the furrow a bit because its not taking a big enough bite. The 3" or so of adjustment to move the plow over was not enough to get it aligned quite right. A narrower tire, at least on the furrow side, may help move the tractor over a bit to take a bigger bite. It's hard to say if that will be enough to stop it from overshooting the furrow. Maybe wheel spacers as well, if such a thing exists for these tractors. The problem that you have with a rough edge on the cut looks like its actually because the plow is crooked behind the tractor. The coulter disc is making a nice cut, but the plow blade is actually going beyond it and having to cut a new edge farther out. This is easy to see from the overhead shots around the 15:45 mark. That's why from the overhead shot it looks like its cutting two strips instead of one clean one. That one should be able to be fixed by cutting that corner off that bracket so that you can use those other holes like he said at the start of the video. Maybe a smaller plow would set up easier on this tractor but it was interesting to see that you could probably use this bigger plow if you really needed to.

    Hoh! what a rupach job you are making - sorry to be blunt but I didn't know whether to laugh or cry, the tears are just streaming!
    I have to put up with fowk working " small 80 hp tractors suitable for stable work and grass topping" which in actual fact can pull up to 5 furrows in 2WD but struggle with 2 or 3 fur's because no one knows much about it.
    May I suggest to one and all here, - go research Harry Ferguson's System - the linkage geometry is half the battle - lost on ALL the big and modern tractors of today, you will find all you need to know about good plowing and ploughing wherever you live. Good Luck

    Hi, my uncle just got a BX1880 with a Belly Mower, Its basically going to mow but a box or blade would be nice for the 3pt, what width would be good to go with? I'd rather give up width for better performance..may push a lil snow, mess with a gravel driveway nothing too crazy.

    • @wildbill23c
      @wildbill23c 2 роки тому

      I have a 4 foot box blade, seems to be about all the BX will handle when you get that box full of gravel, dirt, or whatever you are moving, it'll stop the tractor in its tracks, not from lack of power but lack of traction. The tractor has plenty of power, just a lack of weight to keep up with traction needs. I have a BX2680, one of the thumbs down from my dealer was the complete lack of implements/attachments, so I have an A&B Eagle Brand 4 foot box blade...it works great for my gravel driveway. I recently purchased a 5 foot grading blade from Tractor Supply which I will use for snow removal. I can use a box blade for snow removal, but a regular grading blade is much easier.

    I use a compact massy 1233 with single row plow. I get better results by using a higher gear. I uses speed to keep the rolling the soil upside down. I plow bottom up to top down and pickup the plow at the end of the row then drive to the top of the then drop the plow at top row. I never backup this way and use the last strip in the middle of garden as a path. Keep up the speed, timing of the lift and drop there is no need for coulter at all.

      I would go with Kubota....Bobcat doesn't build their own tractors they're built by Doosan Group of South Korea. Kubota or John Deere would be my choice. Maybe Kioti in a pinch, but gotta be careful about being able to get parts in the future is the big thing when buying stuff like this...the tractor will last for decades, if you can get parts.

      @@wildbill23c I went with a Bobcat... They come to my house and service it... I've loved it. Honestly I went and drove a John Deere, it felt really cheap (the body of it). And it was grossly overpriced. The Bobcats are basically Kioti's... as of right now (with a bobcat brand and a few minor differences. I got a good price and I've put it through some paces thus far. I really appreciate the comment, just a little late for my purchase! I considered Branson also, but read some mixed reviews on them. I've got 70 hours on it, and I really like it. @@wildbill23c Wanted to add also... I got a 45hp... not the dinky one that's 1025 model (I believe), they have had problems with those smaller ones in Bobcat brand. What I got was basically a rebranded Kioti with some Bobcat modifications... They will be making their own soon.

      @@sthrnvoice3198 Kubota comes to my house and services my tractor as well. I have my 50 hour service coming up, so they'll be out towards the end of May for the service. Kind of nice to not have to worry about that stuff. But I think that's more of a local dealer thing, not all dealers do that, especially for no additional service charge.
      I've heard Bobcat was supposed to start building their own tractors but as of now they're still Korean built and renamed. Never understood why Bobcat wasn't in the tractor market a long time ago anyways, they'd sell a lot of them solely based on the Bobcat Skid Steer sales...I bet if they started building them in house they'd see a huge increase in sales...don't see many around here in Idaho, its a Kubota, Mahindra, and Kioti area. That is until you get into the big agriculture stuff then you see John Deere and New Holland mostly here. I see that Massey now has a sub-compact tractor, not sure how long they've had one but drove by a Massey dealer a while back and saw one.
      I keep thinking about starting a side business doing roto-tilling and pasture mowing, but my little BX2680 wouldn't hold up to doing that every day LOL.

    You need to bring in an old farmer to show you how to set it up. You still don't have it right. The plate in the back is not setting down in the furrow. The plow was pulling crooked too, not straight with tractor. Been too many years ago for me to explain better.

    Great video. Do you guys ever use any other brand of compact tractors other than John Deere and Kubota? Would be nice to see a Mahindra or something. Regardless still great videos

    • @EverythingAttachments
      @EverythingAttachments  7 років тому

      Mahindra tractors are definitely becoming more popular, but we currently have Kubota tractors because they sell the highest percentage of compact tractors in the US. We've also used Bobcat tractors, which are the same as Kioti. Thanks for watching and give us a call if we can assist you with attachments for your Mahindra!!

    I just am not impressed with the way the furrows are being flipped over there is alot of grass where the plow didnot flip it all the way why or how is this happening it's z good tractor and plow just something is not right

      We thought the same exact thing. That's why we went back and tweaked the design so the interface with a subcompact is even more enhanced. The coulter works much better now. Check out the newest design, complete with an informative video here www.everythingattachments.com/EA-Subcompact-Tractor-12-Plow-p/ls-12-subcmpplow.htm Thanks for watching!

    This video is a joke! The design of the plow is all wrong and you stuck it on a tractor too small to handle it.If the plow was designed correctly it would turn the sod completely over. Your plow does not do that b/c of design. Another thing, the over all plow is too long in length. The closer the plow bottom is to the rear axle of the tractor the easier a plow will pull. Go back to the drawing board

    If you are going to do a job that requires a real tractor, you hire someone that owns a real tractor. Pretend is great if you are a preteen, when you grow up, you are supposed to learn the difference between fantasy and reality.

    • @dericklebron3198
      @dericklebron3198 3 роки тому

      @Steve M going through the adjustment process was the most valuable part of the video.
      Also, the tractor was never in danger of tipping over, and even if it was, it wasn't gonna tip far. Life in the furrow takes some acclimating.

    how does a gage wheel work?
    I thought the hydraulic position did that. It does pivot at the bottom pins but the top is stationary..I have a Bx 2200 kabota

    • @EverythingAttachments
      @EverythingAttachments  8 років тому

      +ru42112 Since many smaller tractors do not have position control, only up and down lift, it is hard to keep the plow from going too deep without a gauge wheel.
      You simply adjust the gauge wheel to the desired depth. The plow will then dig down to the desired depth, riding on the wheel.
      I hope this helps.
      Thanks

    • @ru42112
      @ru42112 8 років тому

      Thats what the problem is. It only goes up and down. So when in its position the attachment stays at the height. I dont understand where the pivot point is to allow the wheel to take over.
