I run mine with a 55 gallon plastic drum, about 3/4 full of water, strapped to the rear deck area to get better ground penetration and with a few more passes than a tiller, looks just like I tilled it. This thing is built like a tank and really was a great purchase.
this is the info i was looking for. you had me at red clay. im dealing with a silt clay soil. got top layer of bd brok up ezy but after striping for levling cant break up the silt clay underneath with box blade.
Great tip about not over tilling and pulverizing. Mine goes back together like concrate afte a rain or two. Another helpful hint for gardeners... I keep my garden area tiller or disced year round . When not in use it stir it up about every 30-45 days to control grass and weeds.
With disks, speed need to be kept up to around 5 to 6 mph. Also, getting some weight on the back of the disk frame will help considerably. I have a 2 in steel pipe with 2 hooks welded on and a chain to drag behind to smooth out the soil. The pipe was filled with concrete after welding and I made a bracket to hold it on the disk frame when not using it. My tractor is u usual in that it is a Belarus 250AS with down pressure hydraulics meaning I can feather the hydraulics to put down pressure on the implement and as such don't need weight on my disks.
The cheapest way I've found to add weight is to use 80lb bags of concrete. Wet the entire bag and let cure for a few days. The shape is easy to lift and they sit flat on the frame. Just secure with a ratchet strap to the frame and your good to go. Only a couple bucks a bag.
What hp is that Kubota? We had an old Farmall model A (17hp) that pulled a disk more than twice that width- in NY clay. So I'm guessing that Kubota could handle a much bigger one, too. Lol- we had that thing weighted down with rocks and cinder blocks to get it to cut up our rock hard clay. That, a 1 bottom plow; a spring tooth harrow and a cultipacker did a pretty good job for us.
Thanks for watching! The Farmall A is a superb gardening tractor from way on back! The tractor in the video is a B3350(33hp). Yes, it will handle a larger harrow, but, in this garden series, pretty much all of the attachments we used are compatible with both the B and our BX series machine, which wouldn't be very happy with a larger harrow.
When Dad sold it in 2000 prior to moving out of state, he got quite a bit more than he paid for it! The guy who bought it drove all the way up from Kentucky w/a trailer, and was delighted to have it. So that Kubota would be equal to a JD 3/4 series, I guess. (These days it's so hard to say- there are several lines in each brand that offer a 33-ish hp model...)
What is the current price (2020) for a disc tiller 65" cut? We have soil that is as hard as rock when it is dry but, unlike yours ours has rocks, BIG rocks. If you hit a rock with one of these will it just bounce over it or will it damage the discs?
We have a few different models and configurations, but a 66" EA model will start at just over $1,000. It's hard to tell what could happen underground, when it comes to ground engaging implements, but we very rarely hear of a broken disc blade. EA builds them right! Check out our models, all the prices, and more videos and reviews here: www.everythingattachments.com/Disc-Harrow-s/10647.htm
Is there a possibility of a pull behind disc in the future? Maybe a premium model that has hydraulic wheel lift and hydraulic expansion like old cover crop discs of 1960's and earlier.
Thanks for asking. I doubt we'll ever make one like those. They're so heavy for shipping and generally have to ship unassembled, so it's not the best thing for us!
Just acquired a JD 430 and 2000 rpm pto implements (tillers) are very hard to come by....but could a harrow and drag it with a landscape rake get close to that?
Starting with a bottom plow historically produces the best results. Plowing is a great first step in garden preparation. It turns surface vegetation under, causing it to decompose and add nutrients back where they can be used. If the soil is difficult, following up with a disk as an intermediate step will prolong the life and minimize wear/tear on your tiller.
Some only use a tiller, but in compacted soil, a plow will break the hard pan and get the process started more ideally. It's best to turn the soil over with a plow, let the overturned vegetation decompose and add nutrients back, follow it up with a disc, which makes it easier for the tiller to provide the final perfect seedbed. You can skip the first two steps, but all three produces awesome results! Thanks for watching!!
Thanks for watching! The one shown is also a perfect match for the Kubota BX. Check it out here on our website for more info and price: www.everythingattachments.com/Compact-Tractor-Angle-Iron-Disc-Harrow-p/eta-xdcmp-dh.htm
Is there a Mrs. Ted? What, you needed to demo a disc so you just plow up Ted's lawn front lawn so you could just give it a try? The woman must be a saint:-) Love your videos BTW:-)
The tractor is a Kubota B3350, but the disc harrow can be used with a smaller tractor. The disc harrow in the video weighs 155kg and we also have heavier ones that will work on it. Thanks for watching!
I don't know about in other countrys but here in Australia we namaly use a set of discs first then a scarifer sometimes a power harrow but power harrows aren't any good if you need to get stuff done and don't want to use a shit ton of fuel I'm also listerning to the tractors and they aren't even working I'm my opinion the implements are to small
+Jack Caldwell We have those also. www.everythingattachments.com/product-p/eta-xd-bf-dh.htm Some people do not want heavier attachments......1. Budget 2. Application, like certain seeds for food plots, may not require the soil to be broken that much. 3. May want more garden time to escape reality....wife....so more passes could be a positive!
EverythingAttachment sorry I was think like a farmer who has 70 acres to do lmfao but that 3rd reason makes alot of sense lmfao some wife's are incorrigible!!! Lmfao
We most definitely have heavier models, but this one is specifically designed for small tractors with not enough traction for heavier ones. Thanks for watching and commenting!

EverythingAttachment I love our voted
Ted seems like a straight up honest guy. We need more ppl like him.
Agreed

Fun video. Makes me want to find some cloudy soil and smooth it out. Thanks for video.
You guys are great. Learning heaps from your videos. The drone views are a great addition.
Thanks for watching and for the kind words, Scott!!
My favorite disc's are notched front and smooth rear. They left the land smoother.

That's a nice little piece of equipment that would be perfect for our narrow shooting lane food plots.

The new drone shots are really nice.
The disc cut up the soil fairly well, and it is looking good, but I would love to see what the tiller did on the other portion of the field.

that's smart!
I have rocky soil. Is the Disk Harrow a better choice then a tiller? I'm thinking that the disk is less likely to break on some rocks.
The disc doesn't seem wide enough. How wide is it. ?
Anything around for a deere 420 garden tractor, 3 point hitch, plow and disks
what HP tractor is that? All you say is the BX
How much cost this tractor I'm interested to buy
So how far down do you drop the 3 point to achieve deep enough but not too deep?
We drop it all the way, and roll with it!

Good deal. Closest Deere is 2032/2038R. 3000/4000 Deere is like the L Series Kubota.
Please explain the difference between a kubota, johndeere, Massey Ferguson and all other tractors when it come to discing a garden or field.
Was it plowed before the disc??
Yes, we used an EA plow, prior to the disc harrow. Link www.everythingattachments.com/3-Point-Garden-Plows-s/74.htm
What attachment can you use to drop the seeds and plant the seeds?
Here is a great planter www.everythingattachments.com/Cole-Planter-12-MX-Planter-Seed-Planter-p/cole-12mx.htm Thanks!

Better to let ground set between passes. Even a rain will help. Looks like you could handle 5 foot disc or 14-16
How do you change bumper washers on disc
I like that Arial view shot !!!!
Thanks. It does add a whole new perspective doesn't it!
What’s the right disc for a L3560?
Is there a possibility of a pull behind disc in the future? Maybe a premium model that has hydraulic wheel lift and hydraulic expansion like old cover crop discs of 1960's and earlier.
Thanks for asking. I doubt we'll ever make one like those. They're so heavy for shipping and generally have to ship unassembled, so it's not the best thing for us!
Would a perfecta do better here?
Will the B2301 do fine with 5ft disc
Yes, a B series should easily handle it. Thanks for watching and commenting!!
how will the Kioti cs2410 work with the disc and what model disc would you would be compatible to the kioti
Just acquired a JD 430 and 2000 rpm pto implements (tillers) are very hard to come by....but could a harrow and drag it with a landscape rake get close to that?
Several passes with a disc harrow followed by a rake will probably get close.
What's the advantage of using a chisel plow then a disk as opposed to just using a rototiller?
Starting with a bottom plow historically produces the best results. Plowing is a great first step in garden preparation. It turns surface vegetation under, causing it to decompose and add nutrients back where they can be used. If the soil is difficult, following up with a disk as an intermediate step will prolong the life and minimize wear/tear on your tiller.

I owe a kubota bx and I'm looking for a disc set up what would be the best and also one that would be able to pull my bx ?!?!? thanks and great video
Thanks for watching! The one shown is also a perfect match for the Kubota BX. Check it out here on our website for more info and price: www.everythingattachments.com/Compact-Tractor-Angle-Iron-Disc-Harrow-p/eta-xdcmp-dh.htm
I never added weight. If disc is set right it will suck itself in.
that set up look nice to do some small feaild work with
Hello i'm looking at buying a b2601 for a garden that size do you think that would be too much tractor or is there no such thing as too much tractor?
It should do a great job! It definitely wouldn't be too much tractor.
Is there a Mrs. Ted? What, you needed to demo a disc so you just plow up Ted's lawn front lawn so you could just give it a try? The woman must be a saint:-) Love your videos BTW:-)
a way to add and remove weights would be nice or a removable box to add weight to like concrete blocks or something ???? nice tool anyway
Looks like it works pretty damn well at least on camera
What is tractor hp and disc harrow Wight kg
The tractor is a Kubota B3350, but the disc harrow can be used with a smaller tractor. The disc harrow in the video weighs 155kg and we also have heavier ones that will work on it. Thanks for watching!
Are these custom made?
Alkaline or acidic soil? Flowers, vegetables, herbs? Good machines.
Thanks nice job
Why wouldn't you disc it 90 degrees out from the way you plowed it? Might save you a pass or two.
What model b series is the tractor
It's a 3350 hydrostatic. Thanks for watching!
Christopher Mancini
This guy makes the company
nice set up ted
I crisscross my disc runs...
1. Run Plow
2. Run Disc
3. RUn tiller
4. Plant
5. Enjoy your food
OVERHEAD DRONE SHOTS ARE GREAT.
Clay and sod makes for hard going in a garden.
A tiller makes the nicest bed but if you have lots of rocks changing shower pins gets old.
hi dude nice but it is not working wers
I don't know about in other countrys but here in Australia we namaly use a set of discs first then a scarifer sometimes a power harrow but power harrows aren't any good if you need to get stuff done and don't want to use a shit ton of fuel I'm also listerning to the tractors and they aren't even working I'm my opinion the implements are to small
You need the plow in deeper
if u go diaginal after first pass then back strait it helps alot
if it had about 300 more pounds to make them disc work you would only have to make 2 passes
+Jack Caldwell Agreed. It could use some more weight.
+Jack Caldwell We have those also. www.everythingattachments.com/product-p/eta-xd-bf-dh.htm

Who is "peanut"?
Peanut is the guy operating the tractor; he also works at the EA factory and is a lifelong friend of Ted's.
i'd like to see a farmall super m or super h in a video
Like all your videos, just wish Peanut would stop yelling and talking over you :-)
Actually a disk needs to be run with some speed. To throw it and not just make little furrows
Peanut apparently has been in the sticky ichy!
Who else is here to see what Peanut is doing these days?
Now if this were a real plot/field you would work it crossways or even at a slight angle instead of straight all the time
Seems to light to me but you get what you pay for. Be more expensive if it was heavier.
We most definitely have heavier models, but this one is specifically designed for small tractors with not enough traction for heavier ones. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Would be nice to have if it wasn't a 1000$ I don't get why tillers and discs are so much money..what a bunch of BS..
this tool and this tractor is very bad because i have the John deer 3640E and the turn tool and this many mor efficace.
Why all the graphics? You like triggering migraines?!?
Disagree disc is better to run faster
No shit!
He's to use to telling others what to do...
Too much intro.
Why do people buy these junk tractors when there are so many MF35s and Fords around that do the same job 10x better and almost never break down!
Now if this were a real plot/field you would work it crossways or even at a slight angle instead of straight all the time
