Okay, i saw this production a couple days ago in London and I will say that these videos do barely any justice to this performance!! The actors and actresses were incredible and the orchestra sounded lovely.
Interesting how The Phantom drops thru a trap door on the stage after snatching Christine’s necklace. On Broadway it was merely smoke and distraction by the other actors as he disappeared stage right.
@@JamesOttman After I posted this I read elsewhere that they quit using the trapdoor on BWay due to frequent problems with it and one Phantom was injured. Not sure of the accuracy of that. We saw it in Feb last year before it closed on Bway. When I saw it in 2000 for the first time I can’t recall how he disappeared.
No, it was great. I watched the West End version a few days ago, and it was the best musical I’ve ever seen. The quality of the visuals and sound in this video is just bad, plainly.
yeah when I've watched clips of the london west end online I'm just not into it, it doesn't give off a enthusiastic vibe like other phantom productions have...it just seems kind of meh. Which is ashame as I adore all the actors, songs and the costumes are so so good too. It just feels like it needs more oopmh...but doesn't help that the orchestra plays too fast now :(
I went last month and I was extremely depressed to hear the lack of musicians they had :( it wasn’t as powerful (the organ scared the crap out of me because I didn’t expect it)
I hate to say it but this entire number looks like something from a regional theater, not the West end. The dancers are sloppy and the sets/costumes look very low budget.
I thought the same thing (not for the costumes):( There isn't much space on stage for the performers to move around. I think the angle at which they have been filmed doesn't help.

I love the jester because he’s so cute, funny, kind, hilarious, and playful!!!!
I like it when Meg dances
She has the best outfit by far
Большое спасибо за такую возможность! Съёмка очень хорошая ❤
Why are there so many people talking in the background 😭😭
Never noticed Madame Giry was front & Center
Did you film the whole show?
Wonder if Madame Giry comes and gives the cue? Is it new???

He drops into the trapdoor on bway as well. I assume the trapdoor was broken when you saw it. It happens a lot.

The staircase was suppose to move/rotate to the center of the stage, right? ( As I remember from the Broadway and US National Tour productions)
It only rotated in the Vegas production.
No, that was only Vegas.
Do you overture
Madam Giry is too prominent in the choreography, like,,, why????
The London revival has none of the Aura that the original production had.

It all doess feel weirdly...slow

Low budget? These costumes are extravagant and awesome!
It doesn't look like that for real, superb sets and costume.
You must be kidding? The giant staircase was exactly the same before the revival. Even most of the costumes.
