Every hoopy frood celebrates Towel Day. Toasting the day with a Pan Galactic Gargle Blaster!
My favorite book of all time! Laughed out loud while reading, it's so smart, outrageous and funny. For me it spawned a whole new genre of entertainment, the scifi phylosophy comedy.
42nd ANNIVERSARY. I teared up!!!!
One of my all time favourites! Thanks Book Break!
The best version by far is the original BBC recordings. The cast is perfect and the radiophonic workshop was so imaginative with the sound effects.
You mean the radio show, yeah that's the best, TV show second then the books for me
"the heart ship space of gold" :D cutest blooper ever
I read the book last year and if they do find the question of life, the universe and everything, I certainly missed that part. Unless you count someone making up a question as "finding it".
In the original radio series, the question was found to be, "What do you get if you multiply six by nine?" Arthur discovered it by drawing letters randomly from a scrabble bag.
Book number 6 is called (and another thing). Their is also a comic book adaptation. My favourite audio book version's are the one's read by Stephen Moore, the voice of mavin in the TV show witch are on you tube
And another thing is not by Douglas Adams it is by Eoin Colfer
I’ve had this book on my shelf for years, I hope I eventually pick it up this year!
Did you pick it up?
When you think about it, by 1978 Douglas had predicted Wikipedia on a Tablet device.
Excellent review style, entertaining and informative. Great job!
Happy towel day!
Happy towel day
This is amazing!!!!
Fantastic series
Ok I randomly clicked on this video on the 25th of May 🤯🤯
This is awesome! Thanks!
This was so fun, thanks!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Perfect introduction!!
So glad that I stumbled upon you! My English student requested a conversation on Hitchhiker's Guide and you provide plenty of interesting vocabulary and conversation starters as well as a different pronunciation than my student usually hears! You talk about it all with enthusiasm and I'm sure that my student will love your work and we'll have a good lesson.
You were supposed to pour the tea iiinto the milk, so as not to burn it! "See page ? In the hitchhikers guide to the galaxy"
Add the cream before the tea
(Posted by Rick Pickell) The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is my "to go to Barnie the Dinosaur" movie. My absolutely favorite movie of all time. Both the 1978 and 2005 versions. Such beautiful dry British Humor. I LOVE IT!!!
I bought them recently !!
It's a classic and we fans know it. Hope your towel is a fine one.
Having your first introduction to The Guide be the 2005 movie is exactly like having your first introduction to champagne by means of a bottle hitting you full in the face.
The latest Movie was such
a Disrespect to the
Franchise.
Amazingly so.
Accurate
Aaah I didnt know you could get the radio script!! I gotta go see if it’s available in the US
I could not help posting on the Nasa Dart BBC youtube video “And wow! Hey! What’s this thing suddenly coming towards me very fast? Very fast. So big and flat and round, it needs a big wide sounding name like … own … found … round … ground! That’s it! That’s a good name - ground!”
“I wonder if it will be friends with me?”
If you can't see it, it can't see you. This is great, thank you girly. I've never thought of this before but that lends itself to Michael Critons Trex theory lol. Which was wayyyy off base btw - but excellent vid. Adams predates Criton lol. Love your accent btw. - sorry traveling, on my cell.

0:00 "Call me Arthur Dent because I'm here in my dressing gown"
Wouldn't it be better to get dressed *Trillian Astra* ???
Love hitch hikers? Looking for something that is just as crazy, surreal, off the wall & SF comedy? I highly recommend the german TV show: “ Ijon Tichy: Raumpilot” which is based on Star dairies and other books by Stanislaw Lem!
I Can’t express how brilliant it is, it’s more hitch hikers than hitch hikers itself ! Stanislaw Lem is a genius with these crazy SF comedy tall stories, I’d argue Ijon Tichy is better, And should be more known in the west.
The heartship space of gold
I would marry these books if I was allowed
Heart of gold
Hello may I know which edition to get to have these covers?
I love the radio show more than the books
Geez I started reading the series last year but then lost interest - this makes me want to give it another try.
That tea is making me nervous. Please don’t spill, yes?
where is that accent from? love it. Im german btw
Which edition is best to purchase when wanting to avoid American English changes? I have read there are some books that certain words were stripped in favor over the American English; so annoying. I would prefer hardback and will go with paperback if its maintaining its origionality.
IT’S.......IT’S...............42!
You'll do well on the chat shows.
Just 42 not 42! (Factorial)
The Heartship space of gold ? 🤔
Correction at 6:16 not "Heart ship space of gold" but "Space ship Heart of Gold"
Have you ever heard the earlier audiobook read by the author?

What’s a toule ?
Heart ship space of gold, too much coffee? Ha ha
hoopy
I was anxious about the coffee in that cup i was waiting for it to fall off
That wasn't coffee
I couldn't understand what you were saying. Sounded like Tewalday, not Towel Day!
Holy spoilers batman! Why on earth are you spoiling 42‽ Why deprive an audience who hasn’t seen it yet of such a delight?
froody
I finished The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy today. I didn’t like it that much... It was interesting at some parts but my biggest complaint are that the flow of events are really random and some transitions are not described. For example, how did Arthur and Ford hitch a ride onto the Vogon ship? Why did they just somehow appear in a dark cabin on the Vogon ship? Why did Adam’s leave that out? I feel that Adam’s writing feels a bit rushed and lacks a lot of detail and imagery.
Maybe I prefer more “dull” and deeper writing explanations like with Steinbeck and Hemingway? I am more accustomed to those type of writing styles and stories too.
My overall ratting for The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy would be a 5.5/10.
Douglas adams didn't write for the film he just had a rough idea. the film is definitely lost and missing Adams comedy
Quite. Chunks of the first couple of books plus some new ideas Douglas wanted to develop, but he died in 2001 when the movie was only in early planning stages. Still, at least she bothered to look into the back catalogue.
I enjoyed it, but then I'll watch or listen to anything hitchhikers related
@@valley_robot the BBC series captures more of the comedy. Only thing is it is old and looks like old Dr who but it was more true to the first two books
ughhh tea with milk
(Posted by Rick Pickell) Ugh!!, yes it is definitely an English this. Not American.
