Jamie, your upcoming upgrade videos are always must, making us excited for the upgrade. All done in less than 5 minutes! I like the table of contents section for later reference. Many thanks for this series. Please consider additional links for "Digging deeper" videos on a particular feature with further examples
Thank you so much 🙏 If you want a deeper look on 6.7 check out this live stream I hosted a few days ago ua-cam.com/users/liveK6N098ElnYU?si=ziDNnegFv2t_zlQ4
I switched from elementor to site editor recently because of the bloat of elementor. I was trying to get used to the site editor after watching your video, though it didn't go smoothly at the beginning. But when I got that point, it felt really good. Thank you, Jamie. BTW I'm from Mainland China, I watch your videos through VPN.
Thank you for this video!!! the new integration of custom fields with Block Bindings is not easy to understand... a little tutorial would be wonderful 🙂
I have been away a bit and haven't watched many videos. I remember when you had less than, I think 2500, subscribers. Could it be "luck" or is it because you put out some fantastic content. Thanks, as always. Great stuff.
Thank you for all your excellent videos! Have you come across compatibility issues between WP 6.7 and older iOS, e.g. iOS 15? The browser menu doesn‘t work, applies for Safari and Firefox. The same happens when loading Spectra One on WP 6.7. This means that if you have clients with older iPhones, use WP 6.62 until 6.7.2 hopefully fixes the issue.
Hey Jamie, I've got an idea/question for a video. What is currently the "right" (read: practical, scalable and maintainable) way to create post templates? I don't mean a template for the page that will display the post type (IE. a header block, body with group block and post content block, and footer block) but the actual template a user will see when creating a new post. I still use a mix of pasting patterns and manually adding blocks so I don't mess up the width of sections/group blocks and cover blocks. Ideally I'd like a user/editor to create a new post, have the template in the editable post rather than the page that is used to display the post, and just edit some text and change some images, maybe set a color like the section styles you show here in this video. What is currently a good way to go about this?
Great video as always. Changes look good although as always it's about style, design and not much about actual wordpress functionaility. Simple things still need plugins.
Quite disappointing, I must say, to be honest. I feel that the people at WordPress sometimes waste too much time on trivial things and still haven't managed to create a quality editor. The editor still lacks basic elements of web design, such as position absolute, relative (top, bottom, left, right), z-index, overflow, transform, hover styles, basic animations, vertical alignment of nested divs. There are still many issues with mobile as well. The same goes for Custom Post Types and Custom Fields; at this point, there should be an option to create post types natively and use custom fields from those posts as 'custom field blocks.' Some standard blocks that are frequently used would also be helpful, like carousel, masonry gallery, accordion, pop up window, among others. That's just to mention a few things that quickly come to mind. I've been waiting years for these super basic things, I hope they arrive soon. Even after so many years, the editor still leaves much to be desired. Thanks for the video!
Carousel and Accordion are in progress in the Gutenberg GitHub repo. You should check out what's happening there to see progress. I think you can even test the Accordion block now.
I agree. And one such key issue is also the menu that so many people complain about, including me, especially the mobile menu, it's one of the elements that keeps me up at night and I can't understand why the menu hasn't been improved.
Gotta love how all ressources go into the native builder that no one wants to use, and downloads a plugin just to get rid of it. Meanwhile core itself sucks
Not completely. Jamie covers the Query Loop Block and Pattern updates. WP blocks and patterns are global to all WP users, and are highly adopted by those using classic themes/builders like GP, Kadence or Bricks. While the Core WP leaders work on the future of FSE, the rest of us can benefit now from the block and pattern content building improvements. Such as they are. 😾
looking forward to running this new version! Great summary Jamie
thank you ...and good luck 😉

Jamie, will you make a separate video on the new features supporting the display of dynamic data?
Yup for sure 👍 fyi we covered quite a bit here ua-cam.com/users/liveK6N098ElnYU?si=uwfZA8cRzJPQvhb4
Thanks! A really great video.
Cheers Paul

Thank you, great summary. Looks like a very nice update.
Will sub.
Thanks Jenny
I'm still waiting for media queries. I want a different hero image on desktop, and a different one on mobile / tablet. How do I do this?
A completely different one ?
@@jamiewp Sorry for the late answer, I only just saw this. Yes, I wanted a portrait image on mobile, but a landscape image on desktop.
Thanks Jamieeee!
👍
Really good job!!!
Cheers
Thanks for the summary Jamie
Thanks Dennis
Does the dynamic data can replace ACF?
Not quite yet, but it's heading that way.
Great info. Thank you, Jamie. Looking forward to Nov 12 ...and beyond!
thanks - me too 👍
Oh yes!
Sadly fluid typography does not work on my site ...
I would love to see a video from you explaning how to do it !
What theme are you using ?
@@jamiewp Twenty Twenty-Four. Do I need to use Twenty Twenty-Five in order to use this new feature ?
Thank you.
👍
Thank You!
Thanks Kai - hope all is well
Great video and catchy title. 250 seconds.
Thank you 🙏
Hopefully, this update makes it easier to update my site.
Yup the zoom out makes designing much nicer!

@@aabb-xe2mz was just going to say the same, I get the sense that there must be something in the core code that makes this a difficult one to solve..
video title is catchy
Yup 👍
shuffling through patterns was available before wp 6.7 already...
Only with the Gutenberg plugin installed
If you use Elementor and/or Bricks you can skip this video!
True 👍

@@Line49Design Great points 👍
All this feature are cool but the page builder will be better than gutenberg since they implement reponsive parameter :/

Yup it's in the roadmap
