- While working on a new record, I felt the need for some low low tuned stuff. So I looked for a baritone guitar and found this 28' scale Ibanez. As Void Of Vision is the band that made me want to write in those tunings (Drop E/D#) I thought it'd be cool to cover a portion of my favourite song from their latest EP ! And, yes, a full cover is in the work, with this guitar !
By the way, this is my first 6 string guitar since I got rid of my 80€ Strat copy 4.5 years ago. Gotta say that it felt weird at first !

@@heavenly2k it's a beast! I'd only swap the pickups because I'm not a fan of the EMG, but other than that it's an amazing guitar!
@@inhertombbythesoundingsea can I ask you why? I don't know much about pickups but chat gpt tells me those pickups are good for reducing overtones lol
@@heavenly2k well, I have a seven string with Fishman Fluence Modern pickups, and when I compare both, I feel like the EMG are lacking clarity, especially in those lower tunings. I'll definitely swap the EMG for some Fishman Fluence at some point

Hey ! The 80 gauge fits in the tuning peg with no issue ! One thing I would change on that guitar is the pickups, but I'm just not a fan of EMGs ! Considering putting some Fishman Fluence Modern on it ! Other than that, it's a solid guitar, it plays and feels great, and I feel that 80 is perfect for that low E, and it works fine in D# too !

Merde. J'ai exactement la même et elle prend la poussière dans ma chambre. Tu m'as convaincu, je vais ptet pas la vendre mais la descendre en drop F hehe. Ça va t'as pas mal aux mains avec la 28' scale ?
J'adore cette guitare ! Et les EMG ne sont pas aussi terribles que ce que je pensais ! Je vais quand même les changer pour des Fishman dès que possible cela dit !
Et, en vrai, non, j'ai l'habitude des 27 de ma Multiscale, en plus sur une six cordes le stretch est moins gros !
@@inhertombbythesoundingsea Noice! Ouais les Fishman sont très cool, je les ai sur une 7 et j'aime bien leur son. Okay pour le confort de jeu, j'avoue que j'avais pas l'habitude du 28' scale et c'est pour ça que ça me rebutait de jouer sur cette guitare. Alors que maintenant j'ai une baritone ultra cheap de SubZero à 30' scale et là pour le coup je fais beaucoup moins le malin haha. L'Ibanez 28' paraît presque normale à côté, et je pense que le ratio confort de jeu / possibilités de low tuning est meilleur. Allez je vais la ressortir pour une cover, merci pour l'inspiration !
any problems with intonation ?
Not a single one ! A year later, after only one setup for Drop E, the intonation is still amazing, even when I drop it to D#1, with the 80 gauge string! Only thing I'd change is the pickup, not a huge fan of EMGs... Would definitely put Fishman Fluence Modern at one point!
