Sorry about the walkie-talkie shenanigans, bad cinema etiquette is one of the reasons i barely go to the theater these days. When i saw Dune 2 someone sat front and center kept taking out their phone and filming key scenes. I was furious. There were about 300 people in the theater and i was sat right at the back, came very close to shouting, 'hey asshole, put the phone away!'. But i thought better of it, in case it was a disabled child or something. Upon reflection, i should have gone to an usher and informed them someone was filming the screen.
"You want an exploitation film to never feel like work, never to feel like a lecture, never feel like a sermon. You want it to feel like fun, and excitement, and thrills." Very well said!
I hate that when someone keeps making a sound or talks incessantly through the film and you resist the urge to complain, knowing it will completely take you out of the film if you do so.
Thank you for reviewing the film, without spoiling it. From your enthusiasm, it's going to be good. Planning to see this and Blink Twice as a double feature on Saturday. Happy that we're getting thrillers in the theaters. Thanks again for your review.
I am looking forward to this one. A side: Kyle Gallner was so good in Dinner in America. So far, 2024 has been a pretty good year for original horror. I really liked Oddity for instance.
I’m going to go watch this movie because of this review. I recently rewatched “One Falce Move” for the first time in 20 years. Still holds up. I miss the tight intense thriller.
I have heard nothing but good things about this film, and I have heard mostly positive reviews for Blink Twice. I need to go see both of those films. Who knew that 2024 was going to be the year for thrillers and horror. I had almost given up on going to the cinema entirely. Now I am going to the theater again. Anyway, thank you, James for your review, and I hope you have a great weekend.
I became aware of Kyle Gallner through red letter media, and if you have not seen dinner in America yet go see it now. Great review James love your stuff.
I saw this Thursday night and really enjoyed it. I kinda wanted a different ending. The ending is plausible being where the movie is located. I agree Willa Fitzgerald has a promising career if navigated correctly. Good review.👍
Went to see this today knowing only two things about it: it was a thriller and it was suppose to be good. I thought I made a mistake during the first twenty minutes or so because it seemed like it was just going to be torture porn, but then the twists kicked in and I really enjoyed it.
I saw this last night. 💯 absolute BLAST. I walked out of the movie with such a vibe of “that movie kicked ass” The only people I’ve seen that didn’t like this are folks who are kind of snobby. lol. This is funny and campy as well. There was a line “you dumb bitch” where in then context the movie several folks in the theater broke out laughing. I can see some women being bothered by this…for several reasons. But the cool chicks will get it. 😊
you flipping out on people making noise during a flick is so relatable dude ... had this one dude behind like trying to predict what's going to happen to his girlfriend like he wrote the movie. I was literally just about to yell STOP TALKING!
I’m embarrassed to admit in this clearly well-made 90 some min film….I got bored post-twist. Acting, cinematography, music, even the non-linear chapters; all 10/10. But the last 30-ish min felt like 90 to me. Maybe the twist was too early for my liking? Maybe I have a hard time conjuring up fear towards an 85 pound human? Idk. Still liked it overall, but I’m surprised how many “best movie of the year?” takes I’m seeing. Oddity takes the cake for me in that department.
I wish I could speak as articulate off the cuff like this. You are very good at what you do sir! Going to have to check this movie out

Skipping new Crow and seeing this instead. Getting better reviews than Longlegs.

Looks interesting, saw the reviews were great.
I got totally blindsided by the movie. It was off my radar but the strong word of mouth lured me in. Glad I saw it.

Actor Giovanni Ribisi is the cinematographer of this film.
Producer
Ok, I’m gonna watch it and come back to watch the review :D

Easily in my Top Five of 2024!
Great review as always… but am I the only one who found this movie obnoxious?
Was thinking, James is going to love this, as I was watching lol
Not that you asked but this book helped me manage my anger. Anger management workbook for men by Aaron Karmin
My fav film of the year i think
Me whenever any character says “I’m calling the police!” 👉🏻😳

Just watched it.
Not a good movie at all and the ending was so cringe. Not a good actress.
This movie is a complete waste of time. There is nothing scary or entertaining about this movie. I'm rating it an (F). 😄
Morons have a right to an opinion.
Huh. Never heard of it.
You sold it to me.
Going to check your review after 🦾
