Two hour train ride has flown by. Couldn't be arsed to watch anything after the shit day I've had but Limmy is fucking great. I'm going to take a bath when I get home. Just hope I don't cross my legs and end up on the critical list.
Monkhouse was the best host. Look at one of his final gigs, riddled with cancer, he played infront of a room full of comics, and he was utter perfection. He was a great writer of jokes, he wrote for Bob Hope in the fifties. A talented artist too.
I am having November off the booze and I've decided I'm going to invite a pal over, drop an edible and watch these Limmy videos all night this weekend. So good
Disappointed he missed a couple of names in the credits at the end. Music by Dave Lindup, father of Mike of Level 42 fame. And produced by William G Stewart, of 15 to 1 fame (amongst many other things)
Limmy, I also often wonder how it would be to just be someone f***ing famous line Jeff Goldbloom. Just to basically have to EXIST, and everyone just applauds.
Pretty much every actor now is just playing some vague version of themselves that's basically the same in everything. Because practically everything now is not a crafted screenplay that's put to film by teams of passionate crafts people who are all some of the best in the world at their craft...it's cookie-cutter algorithm-written bilge that's put to film by wannabes and businessmen with no craft, all working from an industrial template and data-dictated "content" production and all running their movies through the exact same laptop editing suites with templated heavy color filters and all the rest of it (again, all just the same old thing no-matter what genre, that the data tells them is most popular).
01:03:08 - That's why it's a clever answer but at the start he did say "to buy new clothes" That's a wee bit different. I was thinking "to wash clothes" but that isn't the motivation most times. The motivation is to wash yourself or put on other clothes, or the other option that I won't mention if I want to keep my UA-cam comment....career.... But aye that's a good answer. I'm commenting now, having not watched the rest of the video yet and I am emotionally invested in this answer.
When god decided to create a game show host in his own image the result was Robert Alan Monkhouse OBE. Should your production company choose to cover the Bygraves years it will be a huge insult to the Family Fortunes community. Tread very carefully, you have been warned
Limmy little s an absolute legend. His mind works in mysterious ways but i find it so funny. I am also someone who when Limmy first came on the scene on tv etc I wasn’t a fan but I probably didn’t give him a chance cos now I’d watch him all day long
Bob Monkhouse presents like he’s rigged with plastic explosive and will go off if he doesn’t get the laughs
I could watch Limmy watch 80s and 90s shows all day.
i often do

"Please hydrate by trauma dumping yourself into the nearest body of water" is excellent patter
If you read forums by airline staff Bob Monkhouse rated highly as a lovely person to deal with....he was the anti Cilla
This is the content I’m here for
Bob Munkhouse makes Ted Rogers look like a social intellect

"Have you ever seen a flea jump?
It's there...and then it isnae."
Do more of these it's hilarious

And the Price family from Wales - Dave, Barbara, David, Dave and Irene. Who's the patron saint of Wales again?
Always thought Bob monkhouse would have gone down better in a Mediterranean country like Spain or Italy. Might have been the fake tan though
He seems very spunky. Bob Spunkhouse.
This kind of content stops me from committing
Hope you're alright man- keep on keeping on. I'll keep you in my prayers 🙏✝️
Commiting to git? So you're a programmer who is slacking off?
Someone will have you committed one day I'm sure

If there is one thing I know about 70s football managers is that they were always in jail
Bob Monkhouse v Cilla Black in a boxing match 😂😂😂
Unbelievable that he missed Bob going for a handshake and got left hanging @46:07
14:39 Dave... David Icke? Looks like him!

As someone who held whole shows playing multiple characters it's odd Limmy thinks he can't act, I kinda get it, but it's still odd
Music at the end sounds like it’s from Mario kart 8 😂
Genuinely thought Max Bygraves was the first presenter of this
That was yin oh the audiences heeds they chucked ower the Fence ti the Hyena!
Jesus Christ, that set, what a monster
Thanks
there's nobody on earth that makes me laugh like limmy.
Salt on your porridge! That can't be right

He shouts unnecessarily loudly for each guess.
He IS Jeff goldblum!!
She looked more like Ivy from coronation street
Mate could you take that weird man out of the top corner? I'm just trying to watch family fortunes
Barrymore was good at the crowd work
Bob monkhouse was funny doing stand up very blue oh aye
What role did he audition for on black mirror?
If I remember correctly it was the role Will Poulter ended up getting in Bandersnatch
Vagrant #4
I love me some Bob Monkhouse, he's a comedy legend. But I don't think he fits the Family Fortune game show particularly well.

I’m at 1:04:44 - surely the missing answer is TAE FECK
Can only play yourself-
He acted differently on The Fly
Fun for all the family! If that family were The Hills Have Eyes cave folk.
49:45 £1000 in 1980 = £4,066 in 2023.
Limmy WISHES he could be as funny as Bob Monkhouse.
Wow Bob isn't cast well in these, kind of passive aggressive/rapey.
Elton John 25:20

Love Limmy
Limmy is very clever.
I think the fact she got busted WAS part of the plan .
