Lightyear has the potential to be an incredible film. By far the most exciting Pixar project for me. Emperor Zurg was like my favorite villain growing up.
I honestly don't think Zurg will even be in it. At least in a literal way. If it's about a "real" astronaut then it will probably be more of a realistic action tale.
I am counting the days until I can watch Encanto on the big screen. As a Colombian, I think it will be beautiful and hope the whole world sees the real beauty my country has to offer. Excellent coverage, per usual
YES @Jose, and YES @@fernandofelix1964 !!! 🙏🏽🙌🏽 Same. Gotta invite my whole familia like I did for Coco. Unforgettable experience- and they were so surprised. Loved it. Can't wait for Encanto.💙
Good point! Based on what I've seen of the plot, I don't think Luca is going to follow the same elements as Ponyo, as that involved a young romance. This seems to be more along the lines of E.T. and The Iron Giant. A boy-and-his-weird best friend dynamic.
@@blakewilson1994 Yea, that's what I get. It should be fun also since it's set in the Italian seaside. Most Pixar films thus far were set in the US (or Mexico in Coco and France in Ratatouille).
You know that japan have mythology tales about fish taking human apparence right? Specifically fish with human face which is clearly what Ponyo is at the beginning... Not everything have to be centered around western culture.
Luca is a rip off of Ponyo. Ponyo is literally the little mermaid. Turning Red is a rip off of the Hulk The Hulk is literally a rip off of Jekyll+Hyde. Most stories are drawn from each other. That’s just the way it works.
Anytime an original Pixar film is announced, people will find another film to compare it to. Remember when everyone thought Coco was going to copy Book of Life?
I've got kids that are 2 and 5, so we watch those shorts all the time. Sometimes if it's almost bedtime, a little 6-10 min short is the perfect length to wind down a little bit before bed.
I mean, it's not like the Hulk is 100% original. Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde sounds familiar? Not everything is a ripoff just because it's sharing a base concept, it's like people saying Raya is ripping off Avatar because they share the same culture. Or when people were calling Coco a ripoff of The Book of life because they share a holiday with specific traditions.
Here in Colombia we’re EXTREMELY excited for Encanto. It’s so exciting that Disney is finally willing to focus on the good aspects of our country, and the animation looks amazing! It really felt authentic. Love your videos grace!
Why do Black people always have to live in insane sci-fi fantasy cities out of Tomorrowland? Why not just normal places or at least a place like Shanghai but they always have flying cars and shit.
I'm mainly excited for Lightyear. Casting Chris Evans is genius. It seems the least derivative of all the projects and to have the most creative vision behind it and oddly enough doesn't seem like a sequel-cash-grab. A really great elevator pitch concept. Like Pixar finally does their own 2001 Space Odyssey, Interstellar and the like.
Lightyear has real potential to be a hit with audiences because you have the older Pixar fans that grew up watching the Toy Story movies and the younger kids who have probably only watched Toy Story 3 & 4, but are still familiar with the character. If they make space as magical as they did in WALL-E, I'm all in.
Lol, if you have young children, those really short shorts are very well watched! My two year old could watch some of the cars shorts ten times in a row if I let him
I have a 3yr old in the house, and for sure we are rewatching all those 15 min episodes everyday several times a day. LoL I'm not that big into the Studio Gibli style movies. I have seen a few, and very much love them. So even if its based on one I would like to see it. Tim Allen is someone I am a fan of back in the day, so I'm not heartbroken he didn't get the part for a fresh outtake on an old character. Remember this is about a young Buzz, and to have an old man play him doesn't make much sense.

Think there is room for Disney animation, Pixar, and 20th Century. Lots of great shows/shorts. Lightyear is my most anticipated. Subscriptions will climb for sure with so much from Disney.
I find it suspicious Monster At Work had no mention at the event, and it is still being said that it’s a 2021 release! Do you have any information on this?

Hi, Grace! As Colombian, you have no idea how it felt the moment they announced Encanto. Growing up my favorite movies were Aladdin and The Lion King. I must've watched them at least 300 times (Every day after school for way over a year) and knew the whole dialogue by heart both in english and spanish. Hearing colombian rhythms and instruments in a Disney movie is something I never thought possible and I couldn't be happier. I love how you're always talking about inclusion in movies and I finally understand how people feel when they're included in something as beautiful as this. Keep up the great work. Love your videos.
I wonder if Lightyear will take inspiration from Buzz Lightyear of Star Command, the cartoon show that ran on ABC and Disney Channel for 65 episodes. Granted, Patrick Warburton voiced Buzz, so there is precedent, but that was because the show was ongoing and out of Allen's price range. A full-fledged film could certainly afford Allen's talents. Also, the direct to video prequel used the gag of Toy Buzz inserting a videotape of his show into the VCR.
