You don't live under a rock, just on the other side of our big blue rock! The musicians/bands known to you guys are as unfamiliar to us as this is for you! ❤
The Sound of Silence is one of my beloved Simon and Garfunkel songs that I never expected could be improved. It took 50 years, an orchestra, a great ranged singer, David Draiman (Disturbed) and the extensive involvement of vocal coaches and producers and other professionals of many kinds to produce this version. I liked it more, but.............
I heard someone said that God asked David Draimen if he wanted the voice of an angel or a devil and his answer was....YES. I really love this song. It brings me to tears just about every time I hear it so I always enjoy watching others moved by it too.
If anybody actually wants to hear this, I encourage you to look it up for yourself. This makes it sound like there's a construction crew working through half the song.
Simon & Garfunkel did the original version. I don't usually care for covers, but this is incredible. I do recommend you check out the video version also.
Listen to the original version by Simon and Garfunkel to get a feeling were this song came from. Thoug Disturbed did do a awesome cover with there own style. I love both version, I can't say who did it better I guess it depends on my mood at the time. There both great✌️🤘
Agreed, do the song justice by listening to the original and then this cover again to really feel the difference... and then struggle with us to say one is better than the other.
David Draiman was sick when he did this performance. He trained as a cantor and comes from a long line of cantors. Paul Simon said this is his favourite version of his song.
American music is unique. We created a bunch of genres from all other countries. That is that is why we became a country. Secular groups prefer different styles, but we have all of them!
Hi, I just discovered your channel and I love hearing your take on the music I listened to growing up. If you haven't heard it before I think you would really enjoy the song Zombie by the band The Cranberries. It's a rock song about the war in Ireland between English forces and the guerilla group the IRA.
Take the time to learn the lyrics & meaning & it's even more powerful. Especially in these times. Example "the people bowed & prayed, to the neon god they made". Which is a play on the old testimont or torah on the story in Christian & Jewish tradition where the people making a golden calf as a false false God to worship. In this case people worshipping their false God of technology.
I am glad that you reacted to the live instead of the studio version. Both are great but this performance really shows the incredible range that the singer David Draiman has and his abilities to perform it live better than he did in the studio. Many die-hard Disturbed fans have argued that his vocals were tampered with during post production, due to that fact that he was supposedly battling through a cold. They even try to pinpoint specific notes that prove it but I've never heard those notes or bought into the rumors of voice manipulation.
One of the best songs ever written, done as, basically a folksong by Simon and Garfunkel, but Disturbed did the song, not only making it their own but I would argue, better than the original. Extremely powerful lyrics and music that brings into sharp relief complex and difficult feelings. It brings tears to my eyes each time I hear it. Paul Simon's lyrics are poetry.
ua-cam.com/video/Q-pXD0FXLQ8/v-deo.html (stone sour- bother) seeing as you guys like this one I'm sure you'll like this one, it was a favorite song of an old friend of mine who's no longer with us, he ended up drinking himself to death about 15 or so years ago.
@@A5p3r07h their 'Immortal' album is good too, 10,000 fists has All Great songs so of course it's going to be a hard album to best but it's still the same band with more messages to be sung.
This is an amazing song!! Not that I could hear it with that BS audio overlay you put on it in an effort to avoid Copyright entanglements!! Come up with a better tactic; other reaction channels have!!!!
I think that it is coming thru her mic. She was in a location recently that sounded like it was close to the ocean or something. There are ways to eliminate most of these external noises but she may not be tech savvy enough or have the money to rectify the issue.
Good thing the singer has a strong voice, to help drown out the construction noise 😂
Glad you mentioned that, I was trying to work out what was wrong at my end.
I thought it was a rattlesnake. Here or there. 😅
🤣🤣🤣
LMAO! Sounds like a dentist drill next door! ahahaha

Been saying it since the 90s... Disturbed is the best band for covers

Silence can be deafening. Just come hangout with my family and you’ll know.
Beautiful Reaction ❤️The voice of an Angel YET the powerful voice to heed the message before it's to late.🌎
Oh boy... just wait till they react to Down With The Sickness. A 180 would be an understatement.
Love you two, your reaction and appreciation was 'so perfect' !!!!
Too bad you guys didn't get any sounds of silence while recording.
Wood saw in the background 😏.
But seriously, love your channel!
Chills and thrills everytime! Breathtaking sums it up.q
You guys are great God bless and keep it up. You got good taste. Saw this live. Was unbelievable. Trust me. See them

The Sound of Silence by Simon and Garfunkel is sad resignation.

Heart “Alone” 🎶
'Old band' who just released yet another album.
I was even more impressed with David Draimen after I heard that he was feeling ill during this performance!
This was wonderful. You Gotta listen to Simon and Garfunkel also
It's on her end. Every video she's in there's construction going on. Lmak
Love you guys. UK.
One of the best songs ever
this has got to be the best cover of all time, followed closely by Metallica's version of Turn the Page
No body is better than my man Bob Seger... Sorry
Metallica RUINED Turn The Page.
An Indian dude with a turban reacting to a metal cover of a 1970s song. I am dizzy
For female singer....try NIGHTWISH...GHOST LOVE SCORE 2013 WACKEN
The sound of silence as construction is going on quite funny
Next they should listen to "Pain redefined" or "The Game" as well as the obvious "Down with the Sickness" by disturbed.

Please watch Pentatonix version. Different but equally great.
This particular day he had also been having some problems with his throat. I do not recall the specific details.
Try Leonard Cohen hallelujah and Gordon Lightfoot The wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald.

10, 000 fists was really great. It was the last album I really LOVED from them.

Prophetic, ay?
Doesn't that angle grinder noise bother you? How do you hear the song. Why didn't you tell the builder to stop when you decided to make a video? :(
This reaction video was ruined by the background sound for real...
NOT as good as the original sung by Simon & Garfunkel in the 60's! 😫
My favorite version is by the Dickies, they do a lot of great covers Nights In White Satin, Communication Breakdown, Paranoid etc...
Simon and Garfunkle did this song better
