That's quite a bit of damage in such a small area. At least a few hundred homes completely destroyed. It's difficult to imagine something like that. You're living fine one day and the next day you have nothing. I can't imagine how senior citizens on fixed incomes can recover from such destruction. It's hard to start from scratch if you're in your sixties or seventies even with full insurance coverage. It's such a mental and physical shock. Your earlier life has been wiped away clean. Do people have to stay in a shelter until their house gets rebuilt? That could take a year or two. Where does your mail go if the post office is destroyed. It scares me just to think about it. All the people that lost their cars can't get around. At least some people could sleep in their cars. I honestly hope insurance companies have the money to pay the insured the full amount of the losses. The fires are still burning so things can get even worse.😢
Opening this side-by-side with Google Earth and comparing it feels so surreal... That's such a huge area, so many beautiful homes destroyed in such a short time...
To confirm the obvious- We do not want to spend any money on better water pumps to increase fill rate of the water tanks in SOCAL but we have 80BILL to send to Ukraine for their infrastructure. Got it.. thanks.

Do we even know how this fire started? Thunderstorms? Arson? This is just incredible devastation.

So, a raging hot fire went through, that melted metal, but left beautiful old homes standing? My guess is those homes didn't have smart meters.
soo heartbreaking 💔
It is sooo heartbreaking! Wait till people find out they never used planes with water.
“The one who walks alongside flame shall one day meet the road of Destined Death.”
Will this raise or lower house prices in California?
Looks like palestine😢
And the people in North Carolina laughed and laughed
