@@ddoherty5956 I'm 'countryside'. Our native wildlife is a huge part of the beauty of the British countryside and so preserving and encouraging it is the obvious thing to do. Killing foxes and introducing non-native species like pheasant and grouse to the huge detriment of our native wildlife is plainly not 'countryside'. If these people had their heads screwed on correctly they'd be working to protect the environment for our native aquatic species by opposing water polluters and extractors and over development. Somehow that seems to miss them in their bloodlust.
@@BarcombeBoy Without pheasants and partridges there would be no winter feed or cover crops which are essential with modern farming and how many people we have to feed. Truth be told the population is also the reason our rivers have raw sewage in them. Shooting pheasants and partridges and predator control have been a part of country side management for hundreds of years and the wild life has not suffered from it, combined harvesters of 98%+ collection rates and monoculture haven't. The best thing that could be done for our wildlife is remove immigrants until our population is sustainable (my wife is an immigrant so I don't say that lightly) Packham won't say that though any more than he will call out barbaric practices such as halal that are becoming ever more ubiquitous. I have grown up on an organic farm with diverse cropping and have a lifetimes close observation of the problems behind me, not just ideology. Believe it or not lack of predator control is the biggest problem, because top heavy predation is supported by road kill and rubbish. For example there are far too many corvids and grey squirrels in the country for the food pyramid to sustain pheasants don't rob nests or eat birds nor do partridges.
@@ddoherty5956 That's so plainly rubbish. The majority of farmers manage very well without introducing pheasants onto their land. You obviously have no idea that the UK is one of the most nature denuded countries in the whole world (look it up) and that wholesale deforestation, intensive farming, pesticides and the introduction of non-native species that compete with our native wildlife for food are the cause of this. You seem terribly uninformed. Educate yourself a bit for your own sake.
Fishing is the second half of my plans to help my ADHD/Autistic son lean to sit still and concentrate. Ive already started him on aur rifle shooting and now hes hitting stuff Ive managed to get him to stick at it for 40 odd minutes. I'm hoping fishing will help him learn to be quiet and focus in one, it worked for me. Something Packham doesn't care about
I'm 38 and have ADHD I have loved fishing for the last 20 years and it's the only thing other then shooting that keeps my attention I hope it helps your son as much as It does me.
I went too school with packham, nobody liked him there neither, I was also a young keeper at 16 and he'd come round my house for advice on country matters? He's a dick always has been!😢
I fished from the age of 12 to 60, and then one day, I realized that I was getting pleasure out of terrorising an animal. I could no longer get pleasure from this my conscience would not allow it😢
Packham, self appointed nature busybody. I preferred Bellamy. No field sports, ends with no public access to woodland, as paths and rides become overgrown. No Fishing, sees the local canals and streams being taken over by charities otherwise known as Townies, or The Green Welly Brigade. They keep the tow paths clear, whilst allowing the waterways to become choked up with reeds and Bulrushes. Packham is the self appointed protector of the environment. An Environment which is largely man made, not natural at all.
This is the 'channel' that gleefully regurgitated false accusations against Chris Packham, leading to death threats and putting his life at risk right? And then got done for it? Hopefully you'll be more responsible in future and not deliberately spread lies.
At this stage its the countryside against Packham

What a nice guy, and measured wise words spoken, I totally agree.
