They changed HE to give more even damage rolls is what they said when they changed HE I have never seen so many no damage hits since the changes.....In the same dumb way that deep rifled guns have higher shell velocity where blow-by would lower shell velocity and penetration in reality

At 6:52 they show that the apcr is slower than the ap shell, but on the slowed clip after it when they shoot at the target, the apcr tank got the kill first XD, well done again WG!
Depends on the amount of spaced armor. For example, a BZ 176 with AP will have no problem damaging a KV-2 while shooting in his track while having only 15% at the same angle with HE. Same against a O-I. 100% chance with AP, but bounce with HE.
@@Hanekin It shouldn't, there are simulations proving that a a 125mm HE shell flying towards a 37mm plate and a 10mm+27mm combination will destroy the 37mm plate but not pen the 27mm plate. It seems as if WG made that change for the sheer fact of selling HESH tanks.
If they decrease the RNG and tweak the gun handling on most vehicles where you get rewarded for carefully aiming, the game would be a joy to play like years ago !
New crew system will have lots of perks for less rng, finally a good change. But gotta add that the tanks got much more accurate now than they were 10 years ago. I felt great playing my is-3 and isu back in the days while now both of them can hit shit in comparison to other tanks.
Imo the biggest problem is that nowadys everyone fires on the move and hits everything. Sometimes I get so aggressive because I missed my perfectly aimed shot but the EBR hits me while going almost 100 km/h... I'd like a tweak in the aiming mechanic, so that the longer you aim your shot actually goes in the middle of the reticle and when you don't aim or are on the move, your shot has a way higher propability to hit the outer parts of the reticle. The second problem is that gun handling overall has become way better on most tanks than it was 10 years ago. 10 years ago, T9 and T10 Patton had godlike Gun Handling - Today it is ok but nothing special. WG needs to realize that less is more and not every Tank needs to be better than the last. And the only way to solve this mess is by starting to nerf all the OP Premium Tanks or change their Tier. But that's all just my opinion, maybe I'm wrong.
Years ago, if you were in a light tank, for instance t-50-2 or elc or even fv304 before the meganerf, you were smaller and faster than the tanks around you, and could get away with being spotted by swerving to avoid taking too much damage or getting too much knocked out - partly because of shell velocity but also partly because only the smaller guns with lower alpha could shoot enough times and with good enough rng to end up hitting you very often. You might rarely hit anyone as well unless you were circling them, but you had one of the smaller guns with better handling too. Now anyone can fire on the move, and with 1500m/s velocity and low dispersion, their high-alpha gun will probably still hit and knock out your engine or gas, unless you're a car. Or if you try to use some tanks whose weak spots were understandable with worse accuracy, nowadays if the guns don't just penetrate your strongest armor they can snipe your cupola across the map while you're both driving at 50km/h.

It's disgusting how WG is relying on community projects for information instead of spending all those loot box earnings on making ingame modules for the players to view them.

WG did implement the armor view in game a few years ago. They took it out because people were actually using it and complaining that the numbers weren't right in battles.
Quite funny indeed when the narrator said to "ask the community", well the "Community" came up with a mod that helped see the modules inside, but got banned. yep and specifically FREE HE aka the affordable one, they nerfed HE for sole purpose of making artillery overpowered and heavy tank meta and forcing all players to buy over priced premium shells to be able to pen the overpowered real money tanks.
Last time that happen in my game. Tier 8 EBR bounced 4 times when he had like 100hp or so. He bounced even HE shell. Then he won game basicaly alone.. tragic
I hit an EBR six times with my progetto. I gave it two nasty flat tires. Wow bet you the EBR was pissed. He had to get out his bicycle patch kit to repair it .
That's not true. They changed the wheels years ago so they dont bounce jack shit. Get battle hits mods, you will see that you hit the tanks wheels but not the tanks hull behind as ebrs are a small target and weird shape, while the wheels are way bigger.

In theory, yes, but I think less rng could actually be worse. Sure, my shots sometimes do some crazy things because of rng, but rng sometimes also gives me an opportunity that I perhaps shouldn't have gotten. Less rng would punish worse players too hard and I think it would also lead to way more boring battles as noone would dare to do anything risky as it would be a certain death. This would probably kill the game. This is coming from an above average player (2.5k wn8, 57% wr). Maybe it could be alittle lower, but I do think it's close to optimal atm.

the only mod I will ever suggest: Dispersion Reticle by: Pruszko, adds classic server reticle (so regular ones is still smooth) and adds another circle showing the reticle fully aimed which helps to wait for fully aimed shots

Back in the day I played this, I remember stun mechanics from artillery. If you are stunned, you reload gun more slowly. OK, but it also applied to autoloaders! If a person, loader is stunned, I get it. But how can a mechanic mechanism also get stunned? And autoloaders usually need more time to reload when having an empty clip in the first place... Once again, how is a mechanical component stunned???
It also works the other way, why does having BIA or food in the autoloader tank make it reload faster? We also never see any people driving the tank. Clearly the tanks are sentient and eat the food.
You think a track can be repaired in 7 seconds? You can see your tank from outside to make sure in bush? The commander can somehow both do his job and drive the tank when driver injured? It's a game, full of game mechanics, reality based arguments are always a fail.
Just want to add some notes to the penetrate and shell type issue, 3 time caliber rule is only applied to AP and APCR shells. HEAT and HE will not auto penetrate (i.e. 430U shooting 103-0 on 40mm plate using HEAT/HE), instead effective armor will be calculated to measure whether the shell will be penetrated or not. HEAT will auto-bounce when shooting > 85-degree plate AP and APCR will auto bounce when shooting > 70-degree plate, after considering the 3-time caliber rule. This is a month late but i am grateful that WoT console has a built in moduel and armor inspector. It isnt as advanced as something like tanksgg but it shows the rough armor layout and color codes it based on thickness. The internal layout is way better because you can see each module - it just doesnt show the health of the modules.

WG would have been correct if they said "three caliber rule: if a shell's caliber is ≤3x the nominal armor at the point of impact, then effective armor will be calculated. Else you have an overmatch and will always penetrate." Or simply: “To overmatch: if a shell’s caliber is >3x the nominal armor at impact, then you have an overmatch and will always penetrate. Otherwise effective armor is calculated to help determine if a round will penetrate.”

20:46 I've said it a few time, aim time is one of the most overlooked stats. It is incredibly important for maximum comfort but almost everyone disregards. That being said GLD would not often rank in my top choices.

just a small thought i had for the equipment slots at about 22:10 : you are completely right by saying that it only matters for standard equipment. but wouldnt it still be better to show the equipments in the correct slots (which, i'm guessing, 90% of players are using in about 98% of the time)? sure, everyone should have a brain and think of putting the - for example - vert stabs in the right slots themselves, but we all know our tomatoes.

Two points. First, that the company itself doesn’t provide resources for modules is some sketchy behavior on their part or it’s amateur BS. Plus, they shut down the forums. I trust you, because I can see and reproduce some results. There are some community resources that I wouldn’t trust for the same reasons. Second, that WG puts out a video that relies on content creators to correct? Then what? I have grown to distrust their entire customer experience/tech staff. It’s like they’re not honest enough to just own mistakes they make and correct them. Funniest thing is that there is armor indicators like you can view how much armor a tank has in the garage on the console version of the game and you can see the interior modules. But by golly that’s too much to ask for on the pc version.
The he is absorbed due to the angle of the impacted armor. Even 90mm of armor can easily shrug off 225mm of 800 alpha he. Thats why 60mm he pen at tier 8 and above is only really useful unless shooting the turret shield of borsig, scorpion and su130. And yes aparently wg has also noticed this as they are not taking any of the 60mm pen 500 alpha he on the video.

I play on NA with 250+ ping and it would unplayable if I had server reticle turned on. If you have server reticle turned off, aiming is not that bad, but also you get the added benefit of ping compensation when you shoot.
Ironically, I think this video kinda shows how complicated this game can be for newer players. It took a 15 minute video for them to SUMMARIZE aiming. And they didn't even get to all of it. AND they're adding MORE things lol
I have heard about normalization many years ago from other CC on youtube, if i remember corectly he said APCR has 2 degrees of normalization, AP has 5 degrees. From where he had this knowledge, I dont know
The internal module thing is hillarious... Not only is that data unavailable, but its also next to useless because module damage is extremely unreliable and low proc chance, even with the skill that boosts it lol And even if you DO magically know, its FAR better to go for more reliable angles and increased area and chance, such as under the tower from the side, or middle of lower plate in case the enemy starts to move and dance, boosting your chance to miss out on ANY damage! Wg is clueless..
Its weird to me that on console we get the locations of the internal modules and the armor layout right on the overview tab. I was shocked when I came to PC that it was missing. I also never knew that screens and spaced armor were the same thing LOL. So I did learn something from the video :)

WG don't say aiming is largely academic since the server and RNG decides where the shell goes not you.

BZ-176 has 800 alpha magical HE that penetrates trough spaced armor and tracks.
Since HE rework all HE shells can pen through tracks and spaced armor.
Depends on the amount of spaced armor. For example, a BZ 176 with AP will have no problem damaging a KV-2 while shooting in his track while having only 15% at the same angle with HE. Same against a O-I. 100% chance with AP, but bounce with HE.
It can pen an Is3 turret, NOT FULLY (I received 300dmg per he shot) which is BULLSHIT. It goes against HE rework. @@Hanekin

EBR doesn't have much armour - but they have a fuck of a lot of tyres.
artillery also doesnt have armor, yet i see them blocking hits more often than they shoot and absorbing shots with tracks

You think a track can be repaired in 7 seconds? You can see your tank from outside to make sure in bush? The commander can somehow both do his job and drive the tank when driver injured? It's a game, full of game mechanics, reality based arguments are always a fail.

Just want to add some notes to the penetrate and shell type issue, 3 time caliber rule is only applied to AP and APCR shells.
HEAT and HE will not auto penetrate (i.e. 430U shooting 103-0 on 40mm plate using HEAT/HE), instead effective armor will be calculated to measure whether the shell will be penetrated or not.
HEAT will auto-bounce when shooting > 85-degree plate
AP and APCR will auto bounce when shooting > 70-degree plate, after considering the 3-time caliber rule.
Hope this information is presented clearly.

Aslains mod pack has a module skin add on to show you the internal modules.
This is a month late but i am grateful that WoT console has a built in moduel and armor inspector. It isnt as advanced as something like tanksgg but it shows the rough armor layout and color codes it based on thickness. The internal layout is way better because you can see each module - it just doesnt show the health of the modules.

Or simply:
“To overmatch: if a shell’s caliber is >3x the nominal armor at impact, then you have an overmatch and will always penetrate. Otherwise effective armor is calculated to help determine if a round will penetrate.”
Im so happy there will be internal modules on index page , im waiting so long for 3rd party website that can show this ! ( btw WT has it in game together with armor layout and in this game its actually important to learn that , in WOT we just press 2)
20:46 I've said it a few time, aim time is one of the most overlooked stats. It is incredibly important for maximum comfort but almost everyone disregards. That being said GLD would not often rank in my top choices.

just a small thought i had for the equipment slots at about 22:10 : you are completely right by saying that it only matters for standard equipment. but wouldnt it still be better to show the equipments in the correct slots (which, i'm guessing, 90% of players are using in about 98% of the time)?
sure, everyone should have a brain and think of putting the - for example - vert stabs in the right slots themselves, but we all know our tomatoes.

You can use a rammer on the 45tp and the at7 which have autoloader options, as well as the crusader

Two points. First, that the company itself doesn’t provide resources for modules is some sketchy behavior on their part or it’s amateur BS. Plus, they shut down the forums. I trust you, because I can see and reproduce some results. There are some community resources that I wouldn’t trust for the same reasons. Second, that WG puts out a video that relies on content creators to correct? Then what? I have grown to distrust their entire customer experience/tech staff. It’s like they’re not honest enough to just own mistakes they make and correct them. Funniest thing is that there is armor indicators like you can view how much armor a tank has in the garage on the console version of the game and you can see the interior modules. But by golly that’s too much to ask for on the pc version.

The he is absorbed due to the angle of the impacted armor. Even 90mm of armor can easily shrug off 225mm of 800 alpha he. Thats why 60mm he pen at tier 8 and above is only really useful unless shooting the turret shield of borsig, scorpion and su130. And yes aparently wg has also noticed this as they are not taking any of the 60mm pen 500 alpha he on the video.
Chi-Ri is as 59-16 used to be. I miss the autoloader gun while fighting low armored tanks
btw your modules can get yellow damage or even red damage even when the enemy does less than 50% of their hp

The 120 vs 122 for auto pen of 40mm really shouldn’t have been an issue for WG. Bluntly staring x3 Auto pens is just wrong on so many levels…..
bruh i was waiting for you to react to this lol, Imagine not being able to explain your own game's mechanics... smh WG. Also that point about turning on server reticle is such bs. I play on NA with 250+ ping and it would unplayable if I had server reticle turned on. If you have server reticle turned off, aiming is not that bad, but also you get the added benefit of ping compensation when you shoot.
Ironically, I think this video kinda shows how complicated this game can be for newer players. It took a 15 minute video for them to SUMMARIZE aiming. And they didn't even get to all of it. AND they're adding MORE things lol
I use the index for protecting my weak points and If a tank gives me a hard time I’ll dissect its weak points and what calibre is needed
I have heard about normalization many years ago from other CC on youtube, if i remember corectly he said APCR has 2 degrees of normalization, AP has 5 degrees. From where he had this knowledge, I dont know

The internal module thing is hillarious... Not only is that data unavailable, but its also next to useless because module damage is extremely unreliable and low proc chance, even with the skill that boosts it lol
And even if you DO magically know, its FAR better to go for more reliable angles and increased area and chance, such as under the tower from the side, or middle of lower plate in case the enemy starts to move and dance, boosting your chance to miss out on ANY damage! Wg is clueless..

Its weird to me that on console we get the locations of the internal modules and the armor layout right on the overview tab. I was shocked when I came to PC that it was missing.
I also never knew that screens and spaced armor were the same thing LOL. So I did learn something from the video :)
