    Swapping out the tune would mess with all the mixtures briefly until the engine could adjust to the revised settings. I worked with a shop for some time many years ago and tuning or detuning every car caused what you described for the most part as the fuel injectors adjusted to the new timing. No damage just have to work it out before loading the engine.

    I have a 2020 with 17k miles. Car has been tuned since 2000 miles. I currently have a j pipe and intake with an e30 e tune since 15k miles. Everything seems great so far. However I do notice when I do WOT pulls and there is a slight hesitation when I shift and get back on the throttle. I’m sure it’s the intake but I love the noise it produces. They’re great cars, just either leave it stock or find a great tuner while keeping up with maintenance . Thanks for the video.

    I get O2 KNOCK CENSOR code when I wash my car, after heavy rainy day or snowstorm. It goes away itself after 1-2 days.
    No issues while driving whatsoever. My car is stock and CVT transmission very reliable so far. Driving since 2016

  • @rulfwarwick

    After all tunes the car will stutter for a second while it figures everything out - you can watch thousands of vids with this happening the FIRST time they start the car after the tune has been uploaded. Just an FYI.

  • @JunkWoodProjectswithJacob

    Should of put the stock air intake on. I believe in ur last video you left the Cobb air intake on, should not run these cars with out a tune and aftermarket intake

  • @TheBsniz
    @TheBsniz 3 роки тому

    Your issue after reverting to stock tune is a normal learning process for the ECU. It would do similar things if you disconnected the battery for long enough. I had trans work done and the dealer had the battery out for 2 weeks. After that my window switches didn't work properly until I retrained them with their up and down limits. And the gas pedal was horribly sluggish for 3 days while it relearned how to car. It seems unprofessional and kind of jarring for the money we give them for these cars but it's how the ECU is programmed to learn.

      I’d keep your STI. I think it’s badass when older gentlemen own these “young enthusiast” cars. Shows they got spunk and age shouldn’t define what car you drive. Don’t let your age define what car you should drive unless it’s harder to get in and out of it or you have knee problems that make it hard to drive a manual.

    I don't think it's a tune on your car I've got a 20/20 and I've been fighting with the dealership over putting an oil air separator and the vacuum system and they're not real responsive to doing any of that even if I buy the part since Subaru doesn't have one. but based on my studies these are the kind of things that trickle in overtime is accumulation of oil which reduces the efficiency of the engine and actually can reduce the octane and the fuel that we run into our vehicles. this is the one thing I'd like to do that I'm still dealing with my dealership about I think would make my car last like the rest of my Subarus forever
