Enjoy your videos. I have CA Pro skis as well and mine tended to hold a lot of water in them right were the bushings are the the bolts go through. When the snow melted if filled up like a swimming pool and would cause them to rust over time. I drilled 2 drain holes on the sides for drainage and now she’s mint.
Solid video thanks for the help. Did you just order the 2707-496 kit or also 0607-991 bracket steering stop? I don’t see that angled piece coming with the kit but maybe I’m wrong?
Hello, appreciate the video. The AC dealer looked at me like I was stupid when I asked for this kit but I saw it here and on snowest. Do you have a part #?
Hey I was just got this sled and one thing I have been seeing a lot is people handle bars adjusted up super high I have the exact same sled as you and was wondering how to get mine as high as yours when I release it and pull up it feels stuck
Awesome video Matt. Very imformative. Quick question, an approx price on the steering bracket kit. Also with the new bracket and reinforcement piece, do you expect it to last longer?
It comes as a kit which is nice. I think it was in the range of 40-50 bucks, so pretty cheap. I've seen a lot less failures with that reinforcement. Once that kit is installed, normally I never have to go in there again.
So I looked up this part by the number and it has all the models listed that it works in but it doesn’t have the m800 listed. Mine is a 2013 m800 limited will it still work? Thanks in advance
Hey great vids guys!!! I was wondering if anyone has ever fixed the telescopic steering post by drilling a hole for a through bolt where the telescopic assembly goes over the actual steering post. just above where the round post changes into a hex post ( under the rubber boot) to fit the tele section on? That's where the play is on my machine
Thanks for posting, I have exact problem on my 10,000 mile 2012 turbo.. I think I did something stupid though, I welded the nut and bracket this weekend so now mine is gonna be a pain to fix properly.. any thoughts on my predicament?
Depending on how easy it is to get that tack off, you might be better off just pulling out that whole steering post and bracket assembly as one piece and deal with it out of the machine- (if you can.)
Hey matt! I have a prob and wonder if you can help! I own a 2010 crossfire 8 and a known problem with the telescope handlebar is that you can move the handle bar side to side without steering. Some bars even break.. When you pull the handlebar to carve the telescope handle bar almost broke off. Do i need to change to a different handlebar that isnt telescope? Bad english??
There is steering play in the post itself between the bar adjuster and the post. I'd check the post for cracks behind that exhaust shield firstly- it is common for them to break there. There is a conversation piece where you can put on a solid riser. Just trying to track that part down again.
I got a 16 m8000, hit a ice wall and bent something, bars are turned a few degrees to the right when the skis are straight. Would this bracket cause this also?
Syxxes Performance I’ve pulled pulled it mostly apart, that bracket doesn’t look cracked, have you ever heard of the shaft twisting? I tried adjusting that little tie rod up top connecting the upper steer post to the lower steer rod, didn’t work. I’ll have to pull the turbo intake out of the way to have a better look. Thank you for the reply
The dumbass dealer welded the post nut on my sled so...if this bracket fails on my sled, I have a whole lot more work ahead of me including a new steering post. I would have used blue locktite on the nylock nut.
Sure this will be a continuing problem for next 10 years..we all know Arctic cat does not take responsibility for their crap sleds. I own 2. Be the last Arctic Cats I ever own. Crap clutches...crap suspension bushings...diamond drive bearing failures...sloppy steering ...crap stock reeds...the list is long. Why you guys ride Cats is beyond me.
@@kalybcoats8230 I slipped a square key in next to the bottom brackets side and held it with a vise grip, then you can tighten or loosen the nut while the ball joint is held in place with the key.

Yeah a lot of skis hold water. Usually you have to cut out the skaggs in a couple years when they need to get did.

Where did you get that after market bushing for up top to get rid of that extra play

Good video. What tools do you use to unscrew the steering post nuts at thé bottom on top of the bracket ?
Oftracing makes a billet steering post bushing! Great quality 👌
Yeah, the cat ones wear out after a while. The lower post bushing works pretty well with a tighten, but it's good to have something aftermarket.
I need this whole kit
Going to tackle this. Is it a hard fix. You make it look easy. Can you get it from the top
You aer best

Are they common to break? Got one ordered for my arctic cat
Great video but how do you get down to the motor like that
Like taking off the hood?

Syxxes Performance oh god thanks for the tip. Going to check it tomorrow

You'll have to do an inspection and find out what's bent.

@@trentpastir7835 Good luck!
So the airbox doesn’t need to be pulled for this job?
For sure it makes to easier to see what you are doing but it can be done without moving the airbox. I've done so many I just do it by feel!
Where did you buy the steering bracket kit from?
Its an Arctic Cat part number. 2707-496
Is there a good way to tell if this bracket is broken?
Open up the steering boot and look
What are you riding next season?
I have a plan, not sure if I am going to go through with it this year or next.

I don't know what tech thought that was a great idea...
What's the part number to those
Mine did yesterday
Mine broke recently. Where can i buy these?
You can get this at any arctic cat dealer.
Made that look to easy what’s the trick??
I've done probably 50 of em or more. That's what makes it look easy!
I got it, 2 hours of clanging and banging 😂
Should make them yourself out of some solid steel pieces im sure u could weld something more solid than what they sell oem.snooky pa.
Well maybe not me... but someone!🤣
Vi har en arctic cat alph 2018
I can't x40
Ya need all the steering you can have to sneak through all the fu**ing pine trees while your side hilling!!!
Not fun with squishy steering!
Mine broke up exact same way. Even a bit worse.
Yeah, it's pretty common. The upgrade kit fixes the issue.
you could fix it or just buy a reliable sled
Or you could buy the 35$ bracket xD

How do ya get the nut on the end of the steering shaft tight ? It just spins how the heck do ya hold it ? Custom tool? Lol

Arctic cat steering fix....
🤔hmmmmm.....put off cliff
Buy a Skidoo G4 850 Summit
Equals problem fixed 👍🏻
JIVEN IT AGAIN the new summits are nice! I'm not into spending 800 bucks a season in belts tho.
