I am listening to this song again and again and now feel that I should comment - nothing short of magnificent and paints a picture that should stir the blood of everyone who understands the meaning for what it stands for.

God, how I love Elgar! This is stunningly moving.
I,ve heard Nimrod so many times ,mostly symphonic pieces and they will all touch your hearts but this piece that I,m hearing for the first time is the most”moving” of all. A thrilling performance

I didn't know this clip existed. I was watching the one of the 4 of the vocalists singing in the English Cathedral and positively LOVED it! They are also singing Nimrod. Positively gorgeous song. The message "We will stand together" is incredibly pertinent today.

I remember my father RN (1940-1954) and his brothers all RN and my grandfather who took part in the hunt for Hess. William Forester KIA (1943) Coastal Command. Bless them all.

This was played at my dad's funeral I was so proud of him.
Elgar's Nimrod has such depth, its highs and low sections create that peace and triumph in you. A truly great piece of music which I can listen to over and over and brings such wonderful memories of my late husband who adored this piece. Elgare composed many great pieces.

Nimrod is, undoubtedly, one of the most beautiful pieces ever written but it's not something that requires a vocal arrangement. So much of its power comes from finding tiny differences in interpretation of an orchestral ensemble. Its beauty is exemplified by unison and not a central performance. It's a team effort.

There is another vocal version of this Elgar piece called 'Lux Aeterna'. I know one version by VOCES8 but I am sure Amore have done it as well.

Nimrod by Elgar was played at my husbands funeral by our URC church organist as his coffin entered. It was a favourite of my husband.
