I've managed to replicate (?) this bug, kind of consistently. I'll list all steps I used, some might not be necessary. Lure Toadstool behind the pond closest to its spawn without Abigail summoned, wait near the center until Toadstool loses aggro and starts walking back to center, or be far enough away that he loses aggro. Immediately summon Abigail, rile her up, and have only Abigail attack Toadstool. Toadstool will soon start to summon Sporecaps, But for some unknown reason Abigail's attacks will make it so it only summons Sporecaps 1 at a time, with a long delay between each one. It will still summon 8 in total, but as long as individual Sporecaps are destroyed within 15 seconds of them being summoned, Toadstool won't exit this tree summoning state. I'm certain that after all 8 are destroyed, it's safe to attack toadstool with Wendy without messing it up, but sometimes it's fine to attack in-between Sporecap summons as well. Then it'll be stuck in this state until the next phase change (hitting Toadstool's HP thresholds), where there's a small chance it gets out of this bugged state. Or it might not, like in this video it stayed bugged out for 3 phases. If it starts attacking, the above steps can be repeated to bug it out again. In this video, the Sporecaps were destroyed within 15 seconds of them being summoned, I think that was quite crucial.

If i had to guess, and im probably wrong, maybe toadstool was either attempting to spawn it perfectly on the pond or in the void and was unable to?
