Great to hear that you met up with Alex and Jim at Rhino. One of the albums that sounded promising to me was the Shannon Jackson & the Decoding Society. With Vernon Reid. I have been looking for a fair priced copy of Last Exit's "Live in Tokyo". I saw one in Boston a few years ago and I let it go. Went back and it was gone. Last Exit stuff is hard to find. A killer super group if I may say so. That Intercontinental {Joe Gallivan} Express sounded interesting too. Excellence times three. The kind of updates that used to be plentiful in the VC. Thank you Sherv. Perfect Sunday morning informative/inspiring chill~

Great to hear a long talking video Sherv, lovely backround, both music and the wall colour, first side of what you played was fantistic slow and atmospheric. Not long ago saw Mandance and Barbeque Dog in fleamarket, only 5 euros per lp, tiny regret i didnt grab those because later when i sampled its pretty good jazz with rocking guitar.
I have been so many times close to order some parts of that Atto from Finnish seller, part 4 was reissuef by one small Finnish label. You have found some really good Melodia jazz recs, congrats!
That Hambraeus rec with Trinidad guy connection sounded quite surprising, what was the name of that guy?
"Ended up not bringing it up", lol.
    Cheers!

Like pretty much all those players on the Boykin, just am not really familiar with Boykin lol, sounds great. Chad Taylor is one of the most underrated modern (ish) avant- jazz drummers if you ask me. That Atto series is great, I have 3 or 4 of them, missing one still. Great showing as always, I must have gotten at least 5 records you’ve shown the last few years as add ons to orders to take advantage of free shipping when they’re too cheap to pay for shipping by themselves (and hoping to find them in the wild)

Sherv, yessss, Sherv at night, nice ambience, the Magenta background is perfect. Magenta is La Monte Young's favorite color, and mine too. The Boykin music sounds like a foggy night in San Francisco with lapping water sounds and the faint cries of foghorns from distant ships. Monk's tune, ''Ugly Beauty'' says it all! I also agree on your viewpoint of Joe Chambers, his work can be a real conundrum for ''casual'' Jazz fans. Bert Jansch released an album recorded in 1979 titled ''Thirteen Down'', it's credited to his group, The Bert Jansch Conundrum. Listening to it now, conjures up an image of Rob@ SoundsStrange. My first Ronald Shannon Jackson purchase was ''Pulse'' on Celluloid from 1984. It's a solo drum recording with Shannon reading and singing some ''lyrics''. Poet, Michael S. Harper and pianist Onaje Allen Gumbs appear once, on two separate tracks. At the time, nobody dug that album, except for me. Nixon should have invited Hendrix to play inside the White House. Tricky Dick was afraid that Jimi would have painted the White House, Black!!!!!

Sherv, a nice variety of records laying around. I have that Kuriokhin, and the Bowed Piano albums. Kuriokhin has some other albums on Leo Records that are pretty good. Excellent choice of the avant garde violin. I wasn't sure if I had it, and probably got it for the same reason that I say the name Mimaroglu, so I put it on to finish your video. Really hit the spot. Now, I need to investigate the John McCabe piano album and the Hambraeus. Take care, Chris

Alex put albums in your hands? I don’t believe this for a second. Speaking of Larry Young and synthesizer… Last year, I picked up Bartz’s Music Is My Sanctuary, and Scott at Lunchbox told me to also take home Spaceball by Larry Young’s Fuel. Wild stuff.
Closing strong with a Warrant mention and rolfing. Imagine the two combined…

Always great to see you pop up and share some music brother..nice late night vibe here with befitting music..
We had a copy of the boykin at the shop a little while ago..nice stuff we spun it there and it eventually sold.
    Guilty on the kuzu..😂..
I dig Sergey Kuryokhin but only have a couple of his lp's on leo.
I have heard that one online good improv he was an interesting musician too bad he died young of cancer.
I have not heard that particular henry lp but odds are it is good concrete abd voice i pick up anything of his i don't already have.
Ditto on the atto definitely would have picked that up if i saw looks good.
    Ya man joe chambers 💖.
Would a versatile and great musician i would have loved to hear a modern classical lp by him as he was certainly capable of it..any style he wrote in be it fusion or modal etc..he just kills it for me.
Double exposure might be larry's last date though the magician lp a german only release is around the same time as the chambers one.
I used to have an og of that hutch bn lp one on the label i dug especially side two of course..
Great call by alex on the scott love that one..the whole new albion label is great imo.
Ya joe gallivan i had that one and remember liking it but did not survive a purge..along with there other compendium lp peace on earth which is more in the spiritual jazz vain..
I like the ailana lp's though the first one is even more interesting with fourth world vibes and ryo Kawasaki on it.
Title escapes me but you would dig it me thinks.
Moers is good label and mostly still cheap..
Speaking of rozie him and his brother cut a great trio lp on moers with Rashid ali that i highly recommended if your not familiar.
Ya love cry want is heavy duty!..figured you had that.
Really like hambraeus work though don't have that one it may be on wl would not be surprised..lol.
Nice weston story only you..😂...much love to you brother and thanks again for the siggi lp you passed my way it completed the trio and is probably my fave..appreciate it and you brother. Chris
