You said you won't eat the crabs or scallops because of the dead creatures in the area and you wanted to avoid being poisoned (hepatitis A - most likely). So why is it safe to eat the lobsters? I trust your opinion based on experience. Just wondering the reason why. Love your channel. Thanks for the vids
Hey dude it was more towards the bivalves , filter feeders I.e oysters scallops, mussels, not so much the crabs and lobsters as they don’t hold bacteria in the same way due to not filtering the water , but I’d always try to deter people taking any shellfish from outside harbors in the video as it’s not always safe dude

10:00 👨💻no a 100lb eel we can't catch in a river we used to camp on 1990s is what we call a monster eel 😳 1 old friend oh we used go there caught a 100lb eel using a wire cable on a 4wd using a dead rabbit big scary eels they wait around dead animals etc for small to come and eat the small eels

I think the seaweed is Valonia ventricosa, if it is just the ball. We call it bubble algae where I'm from, but some people call it sailor's eyeballs.

@@KMacFNP I live on the central coast. We got the crabs here salmon and stuff like that is great fishing here too. Down the coast is more lobster and tuna. Up the coast is more shellfish. Oysters and stuff.

Your water balloon seaweed is known as oyster thief phaeophyta. Source is from country life.co.uk. Article is a simple guide to British seaweed.

I don't no which I enjoy more watching you catch them or watch you eat them. Sadly where I live in Florida USA we don't have any rocky beaches, but, when I lived on the west coast of the US in California we always had rocky beaches to catch and eat just like you do. Kind of reminds me of the old - old - old days of a fire, a beer, a joint and some fresh sea food. OMG to be young again
In my state of victoria, australia, we are not allowed to go fishing.
Even alone.
But 80 people are allowed in a kmart and full busses are driving around.
Yeah, it's a shame you can't eat the majority of it. I live near the Firth of Forth in Scotland and it's a very similar situation: Tons of live crabs, scallops, lobster, mussels etc, but a lot of dead ones too, because of all the industry and shipping on the Firth. Still fun to find stuff though.
Why not put a tub of garlic butter/not margarine in your bag? My son use to joke with me about having this super tiny pot. Actually it was a measuring cup but thicker and I didn't have all, so I toted 1 for things like, melting butter, or something. You could have put the butter in it and put it in the steam pot half way through cooking time. A zip bag inside a zip bag can hold cold butter, too. The second your ready, you pull the zip bag out to head the butter, nip the tip off 1 to squeeze in pan or on the lid upside down. Then put the cut bag inside the not cut bag. That was you get no drips/mess.

I've always wondered why most lobsters and crabs seem very debilitated once they get caught, and seem to have lost their will to either fight back or run away... pretty sure with that size and strength they could have caused some trouble if they wanted to.
