Dear Stephanie, What I personally love about your videos is that you actually EXPLAIN why you do certain things during the course of your recipes. So often cookery books just give you instructions and I often wonder why you should do certain things at certain times, now I know. Baxter so well behaved, my dogs would have those biscotti off the counter the minute my back is turned! Jacquie
Thank you again, Stephanie. I have made Panforte before, but it’s been a long time. I know I can always trust your recipes and learn a trick or two from your videos.
What a festive holiday cake, A great alternative for fruitcake! I don't think think three will be any groaning complaints , " Oh no, I hate fruitcake!" This is so different, so beautiful! Thanks for sharing, Stephanie! PS: I love you show!!
Stephanie, I made this cake for Christmas. What an amazing recipe! Thank you for your excellent instruction. This cake is absolutely delicious. Delicious! I made mine with just hazel nuts and instead of using ginger spice, I used minced candied ginger. I can't say enough about how lush this cake is. Thanks.
I am very happy to hear that you won the award! I voted! *blush* Also, I saw about this Panforte from a tv show and decided to visit siena one day just to taste this cake. Now I don't have to because my favorite baking teacher has the perfect recipe for me. yay! Thank you :)
I voted for you! You are amazing at what you do and you're so helpful by making your videos and I am sure that you have made loads of people very happy, including me :) keep doing what you're doing!
I'm so happy that you won, and I just voted again :) you deserve it. Thanks for the awesome recipe, never heard of this before, but looks amazing. Gonna try it soon.
No coriander seeds? When I was in Siena I was told coriander seeds were a must for authentic Panforte. I make it every Christmas from a family recipe that does not contain cocoa or chocolate, but does include coriander. A small amount; it lends an interesting spiciness. The spices make it smell like Christmastime.
Hi stephanie. My sister wants me to make a rich turtle cheesecake for Christmas and i was wondering if you could do a video on a turtle cheesecake because all of my family loves your recipes and wont settle for anything else so if you could please make a vdeo on that.
We love this recipe so much that my friends and I want to make small ones as our holiday gift project to give to friends. We have 5 x 2 pans which are not springform. Do you think we can make it work without the removable side? Also, how many of those small pans should we be able to bake at one time in the oven without altering the results? Thank you.
I'm a no 1 fan when Iam older I want to be like you you my my role model so beautiful and an amazing baker thank you for inspiring millions of people worldwide your husband is also amazing for editing ❤️❤️❤️❤️
This looks delicious and very authentic. Where do you get the candied fruit? Do you make it yourself or buy it? I have found that the candied fruit available in the markets near me in California is of a very low quality. Any suggestions?
Stephanie, do you store nuts in the freezer/refrigerator to prevent them from going rancid? Im beginning to bake late in life and I want to thank you for inspiring me to do so (my kids thank you as well : ) I love your videos and have learned so much from them. Happy Holidays to you and your family!
Farha Abdul Rahman You can drop a little of the syrup in cold water and check it that way. I have a chart on the stages of cooked sugar that tells you what the sugar syrup should look like at the various stages. Here is the link. joyofbaking.com/StagesOfCookedSugar.html
Hi there Stephanie: I've always wondered what you do with all the stuff you make...you certainly can't eat everything you make or your family even. Do you give it to neighbors, church groups? I am concerned about the diabetes factor with all the sugary stuff you make. I'm just curious. I made this panforte, BIG hit at a potluck I went to.
Could you just leave Out the candied fruit? Otherwise that cake looks sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo good. Keep on baking and don't stop. 😊😘😚😙💛💙💜💚❤️💗💖💕💖💖
I love that you use metric system too with measures in grams.
I make pane forte every year. I use rice paper and tart ring.
I love watching your videos. I always learn something new!

It is the king of the Christmas preparations in Tuscany

I really enjoy your videos! A few times you've said "this is an easy cake to make." What would you consider a challenging cake to make?
Hi stephanie. My sister wants me to make a rich turtle cheesecake for Christmas and i was wondering if you could do a video on a turtle cheesecake because all of my family loves your recipes and wont settle for anything else so if you could please make a vdeo on that.

+I recently ordered through King Arthur Flour's website. Their candied fruit is from Italy and I found it tasted pretty good .debracole

Robin C Yes, I always store them in the freezer.
Did you recently change the ingredients? I have allspice in the original and no ginger. Help
The recipe hasn’t been changed since we shot the video.
Delicious!
okay
😁😂😂😂
Looks good!!!😍😍😍
Thank you very much
can I us white chocolate and vanilla in stead of dark chocolate and spice ?
Ow can I check whether the sugar syrup is done without candy thermometer?

Thank you for your reply..
Can I use Lyle's Golden Syrup instead of making the sugar/honey syrup?
Achdus5774 You could use golden syrup for the honey.
Yummiii! And congratulations :-)

Christian LeGault Yes, I normally give a lot of it away or I freeze it.
Can I exclude candied peel from this recipe??
Farha Abdul Rahman Yes, you can leave it out.
Any substitute for honey
I've only made Panforte with honey. You could try using corn syrup or golden syrup and see if you like the results.
You can see Rick's reflection on the oven doors :P
Could you just leave
Out the candied fruit? Otherwise that cake looks sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo good. Keep on baking and don't stop. 😊😘😚😙💛💙💜💚❤️💗💖💕💖💖
Yum
👌👌👌👌
IF you eat peanuts, chocolate and honey all together ; you will shit that exact same bar.
It stores for months. Rest assured it will not survive the day in my home!
