I was just saying to my wife… you are very articulate. You convey your message concise with no BS. It’s not scripted and it’s genuine. I’ve said this before, you’re one of the best reviewers on YT in my humble opinion. You’re certainly the most underrated my friend. Excellent job on this comparison. Keep up the awesome work.
Oh wow that's praise indeed. Thank you for your encouragement & support my friend. I think these comparisons are great fun to do & a bit of light relief from the usual this spec that spec! As for these watches both great in their own right.
@@somewhereintimewatchreviews out of the 2 I like the Orient. Not because I think it’s better. I think it’s cleaner and I like the color way plus it seems to offer great value as it’s closely matched.
I love these head to head videos. To be fair the Seiko had a bit of an advantage being a special edition. I used to own the STO Turtle. That dial is really something! 😁You were spot on here. Both are excellent watches for the price. Regarding the lume, I'm pretty sure Orient is using Lumibrite now that they are under Epson/Seiko. The difference may be the applied markers vs printed on the Kanno. Well done sir!
Thanks mate these videos are good fun to do & the best part is that I make the rules up haha sometimes even just to provoke a reaction from those that are staunch fans of a particular brand. But these are as you rightly say both great watches. Glad you enjoyed the video.👍
Fantastic comparison video Adrian! I would say I think the Seiko would win in the movement department given that it was only losing one second per day. Both are beautiful watches! Seiko wins this one for me because of the lume and the movement. Both well made watches great job 👏
Ah, well you're not wrong the Seiko is more accurate but as they're both well within their stated tolerances I gave it as a draw. But yes both nice watches both have their flaws but I keep them in the collection for a reason they both make me smile when I wear them 😊 and that really is all that matters.
Thanks Matt. Good question, of course the Kamasu has sapphire crystal which could be a plus point but still not ISO certified but it may be a closer match. I do plan on getting a Kamasu at some point so we will find out how it stacks up against either the Seiko turtle or the Samurai. I may even do a 3 way match & throw a San Martin into the ring as well
Nice comparison, the Orient is definitely the better one to pick up used, some great deals out there.. (as you know) 😉 That said, think i’ll take one of each 👍😆 Although I’d swop the Samurai for the great white version 👌😎
Yeah that Orient us a little sweetie! Thats interesting that you would pick a great white over the blue whale. I sold a great white & kept this one but I did already have the blue lagoon which is quite similar in colour etc. Cheers mate.👍
The best watch there is the Orient by far. Seiko are generally overpriced and that beat error is quite bad although it can be adjusted. Its a value for money thing......
Both great watches & both owned by the same parent company of course. Generally these things are down to a matter of personal taste. Thanks for watching.
As a Kamasu "2" wearer I have to say I wouldn't have docked the Orient points based on the look of the face. In fact I'd have wanted to add points for Orient avoiding the frills of a more ornate Seiko and saving the buyer some serious cash for what is to all intents and purposes - in my book at least - a watch that is every bit the equal. The value on an Orient at this particular stage in their trajectory is, for me, unrivalled and makes them a considerably more attractive and collectible line brand. Absolutely love my Kamasu "2". Almost feel so strongly about it that it feels kinda disrespectful to wear any of the rest of my collection.
@@somewhereintimewatchreviews I own a couple of them - a Seiko 5 SNK807 which I love a great deal, and my first ever 'proper watch' which is a Seiko Kinetic from about 1995 currently in desperate need of a capacitor replacement. I just think that across a large swathe of their lineup there's a degree of over-hype and excess prestige and that Orient provide a much sweeter value and - indeed for my taste - visual style as to be a better choice. Certainly nought against Seiko. If Orient didn't exist they'd have a section of the market cornered justifiably. I just think Orient deserves a lot more consideration by buyers.
It's certainly a well known fact that Seiko prices are going north but the level of attention to detail & QC has been static. I can't disagree that some releases or re-issues have been hyped & Seiko need to address those issues, well apart from the hype thing that's down to collectors I'm afraid. As far as the aesthetics goes that's down to personal choice there is no right or wrong, good or bad just preferences! Orient I agree is an underrated brand & if you watched the video to the end you would have heard me say that even though I scored the Seiko higher I take nothing away from the Orient its a great watch. But I stand by my scoring plus I make the rules up haha These "head to head" video's shouldn't be taken too seriously though these are just my opinions. But I'm glad that it's provoked some thought from you & I appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts.
@@somewhereintimewatchreviews No worries at all... it's all friendly banter and great conversation around our passion and hobby, and thanks for making such good, honest, unpretentious videos. Really enjoy and appreciate what you do!

Thanks mate. Much appreciated. 👍
Very fair scoring there bro and I scored it the same truth be told. Keep up the good work 👍👍

Great review mate.spot on with your judgement.
Thanks Adrian.
Thanks Mal. These are always fun to do.
Nice side by side. Something about that Orient though. Love the colors. Thanks Adrian!
Thanks Bob, they are both very nice if I could only keep one of them though I would probably keep the Orient. So I'm with you there.

Do you think the Kamasu would have stacked up better?

For me the Orient.
Thanks for watching.
Between those two, I would pick a Kamasu.
Er there wasn't a Kamasu here that was the whole point everyone does the Kamasu!! 😁
@@somewhereintimewatchreviews If I had to pick between those two, I wouldn't wear a watch.
You obviously feel very strongly about these 2 then!!
Each to their own.👍
The Samurai gets additional points for its unique case design. The Orient has no uniqueness about it.
Can't argue with that. Both great watches though.
Thanks for watching.
